To design fitting content for the game, you have to have a good understanding of what the game is like. It doesn't really matter much if a coder doesn't play, but it does matter if the lead designer has no idea what the game is like for the players.

When our character dies, one of the gods intercepts our soul and teleports us to our respawn point. Any NPC that isn't favored enough by a god won't get resurrected. There's a lot more to come with this in the upcoming Sliske quest.

Dang, that's a lot of kills. I certainly hope people are using bonecrushers! Interesting fact: When I calculated it a while ago, cannoning cows with a bonecrusher was roughly the same gp/xp as dragon bones

I don't get why a skill needs to have (good) rewards. The way I see it, levelling skills should unlock pieces of content and increase xp rates, not provide neat bonuses that only unbalance the game further.

Honestly, the only problem I see with Vorago's drop mechanic is that the orb and wand are way too rare. Making magic weapons much harder to get than their melee and ranged counterparts is completely counterproductive to what EOC tried to accomplish. I kind of wish they just made Vorago drop all 3 styles, then have the KK drop the level 85 weapons. The ascension dungeon could provide the armor or something.

That's probably true but when I go from rank 1086 to 1075 Cooking in a day without gaining xp like I just did then surely those 11 people didn't all quit at once. Must be banned. They remove f2p accounts once every month or so.
