Old school has had some pretty neat content, but there's no denying that it's much more boring and grindy than normal runescape and generally a less enjoyable game, although pking is supposedly fun once you get the stuff for it. I never enjoyed it, though. I heard they have a decent pvm endgame now, but I don't know much about it. Runescape has gotten a lot better for low levels, but the endgame is pretty bad. You'll enjoy it more if you just want to do quests, skill, and talk to people.

The thing about blaming the lack of profitability of skills on skill capes is that it's kinda misguided. If you look at how the skills were designed, it's pretty clear that they wouldn't be profitable if the playerbase valued xp. At most, skill capes were a catalyst of the change, but they certainly didn't cause it. I guess a better way to say it is that there wouldn't have been a problem if skills were balanced correctly.

I've had a lot of trouble falling asleep lately because of my schedule, which means I often lay in bed for 2-3 hours before I fall asleep. An interesting consequence of this is that by the time I fall asleep, I'm pretty dehydrated. Turns out, I get freaky lucid dreams when I'm dehydrated.

They don't move you to a bot world/ban you right when they catch you for botting. They wait a random amount of time, so that bot developers can't look at what their bot was doing right when it got punished and fix that issue. This is why you hear of people getting banned for botting while mhing and saying, "Obviously I wasn't botting. How can you bot dks???" Regarding the separate world issue, I think it's a good way to gather more information on the behavior of bots. If you just ban a bot right away, you only know what they were doing up until they were caught. If you quarantine them, you can continue to gather data for as long as you want.

All spells are equally accurate. We proved that on xpw a while back. Defense is 2/3 magic 1/3 defense. I might have that backwards though. Otherwise, it's just like melee.

It's not hating success as much as it is hating mediocrity. It's like saying that McDonald's is bad food. Maybe it's legitimately bad, but people have low standards so they eat there. As far as I'm concerned, that's not being pretentious.

The problem with Nickelback isn't that they're bad. They specifically use techniques that are meant to sound good to the general audience. Every song is made of a typical pop chord progression (played with power chords too), a simple rhyme scheme, and 4/4 time. There's no attempt to create awesome music, just to manufacture sales. Compare their body of work to any real artist and you'll see what I mean. Also, the kinds of people who like Nickelback are unimaginative and have no desire to listen to anything better than mediocre. If they did care about good music, they wouldn't be listening to Nickelback.

Yeah it wouldn't be efficient to get claws, but if you're diying it might be more fun to try killing TDs with barrows weapons until you get claws. You might even get a crossbow to use in your diy ascension bows. But yeah a maul would be the best.

Hey, Olly. Good to see you again. Anyway, I was thinking it'd be interesting to have a calculator that would accept an "old school" player and calculate if they'd have 200m all by now. I wouldn't be able to work on it for another 2 weeks or so, but if anyone's interested, just remind me then.

Effigies were about on par with ZMI for suomi because of how many effigy combinations he had blocked. It was just easier to cannon cave crawlers for a million hours.
