  1. Combat levels actually do a really good job at assessing win probability right now. Except in extreme cases, if someone's combat level is lower than yours, it means you have a higher chance of winning. The old formula isn't even remotely like that. It doesn't work for monsters (as they don't have abilities) at all, and it doesn't work in PvP for levels ~170 and over, because equipment doesn't go to 99, and people rarely use t90 equipment in dangerous pvp anyway (dl with darts is the best right now, I think, in terms of gp/performance balance), and there is a huge difference in level 200s as well - it's like using a 1m (static) ruler to measure a person. In that sense, the current formula is just as broken as the old one. It's not like 138 beats 120 wasn't obvious under the old system. The current formula is about as good as you'll get once the tiers are filled out. As far as pvm goes, combat levels actually reflect stats outside of bosses now. As long as they don't have any special attacks, you can assume that you're fighting a monster with (combat - 2)/2 defense. Like, that's the most amazing thing ever. Before eoc, combat levels were literally picked randomly by the developers. Also obviously max combat beats unmaxed combat. A bigger issue is if 120 beats 110, which was only the case with like 60% of builds.
  2. As in? Magic: Glacors Attack/strength: Basically every boss + unicows (like 3-4m gp/hour) Ranged: Armadyl GWD, some vorago roles I think, nex (?)
  3. Magic > Attack/Strength > Ranged >>>> Hunter >>>> Divination >>> every other skill

  5. I cashed it Wasn't expecting it to look that good :c
  6. The majority of the Bible Belt refuses the evolution theory, just to mention. :P I voted for 138, as I think ALL levels should be factored to show "combat ability". When you factor in every skill, you get a result that's effectively a random number.
  7. Has to be more than 300k bxp/hour to be efficient
  8. Yeah there seems to be a pretty easy way for one team to dominate no matter what, depending on what Jagex does. I want to say that they'd be aware of this and wouldn't release a beatable minigame, but I just don't know anymore.
  9. They don't see the problem with that logic?
  10. Combat level calculation wasn't the reason why pures died. It was because of the life bonus from armour, which pures couldn't wear, which gave people a massive advantage against pures. The problem was that defense contributed so little to win probability that you could increase your win probability/combat level by training other skills instead. That was the major flaw of the combat formula: it didn't actually take the power of each stat into account. Because defense has a point now, you can't understate your combat power by not training defense. That is, someone with balanced stats will be more powerful than someone with uneven stats, assuming they have the same combat level. That means that pures die. Things will only get worse for them if they bring back the old combat formula.
  11. :o Meant Tetsu :p
  12. Slayer > secret method im not allowed to leak > fight cauldron (also apparently some people are meleeing glacors now but idk how good that is) (I feel like I'm forgetting a couple good ones) Torva > Bandos > Rockshell > Tetsu Drygores > chaotics > godswords > barrows Momentum is like doing rocktails instead of c2s, except momentum is still a decent amount of effort and abilities aren't as bad as you think.
  13. Yeah I think we've only managed to get 1 major vulnerability fixed. One of them is pretty useful, so I'm reluctant to see it fixed.
  14. Also if Legacy combat returns with special attacks claws will once again be useful to at least a small segment. They will be useful to people between 60 and 70 attack
  15. Do people actually like that tree? I never even planted mine
  16. I do not care about holiday items and I'm conflicted about which side to vote for
  17. I'm actually not convinced that's true We do C2s because there aren't bonus rooms and the monsters are low combat It was my application to grimys idea that first started the c2 era.I'll take your word on it then :p
  18. I'm actually not convinced that's true We do C2s because there aren't bonus rooms and the monsters are low combat
  19. Just do the crit path in C6s I guess

  21. You can claim that pre-eoc required skill as much as you want, but there's no doubt that more skill is required now.
  22. Just play with the slayer model I'm sure you have the link to it so I don't have to search for it right
  23. A lot of people here do cocaine or prescription drugs I swear half the people I talked to in high school (before I got away from that sort of stuff) were addicted to oxy Also interesting table I found
  24. Giant Mole The Giant Mole - Coinshare Time and Date Date: Saturday, February 15th Time: GMT: 9pm US Eastern: 5pm US Central: 4pm US Mountain: 3pm US Pacific: 2pm Friends chat: TMHT Mere Co-hosts: TBD [pending]bla_1392501600[/pending] Server and Location We will meet outside of the Giant Mole's lair in the Falador park. The world will be determined when the event starts. The Giant Mole Although the Giant Mole has constantly been a bit of a joke among serious monster hunters, she has become significantly more difficult with the recent update. She now has several pulverizing attacks which take advantage of the mechanics introduced with the Evolution of Combat and has had her stats upgraded. She is no longer the easiest boss to kill. She has two main attacks: a simple melee attack and the ability to knock rocks out of the ceiling if a player uses a safespot, causing a 200-damage bleed in a 3x3 area. After taking a certain amount of damage, she will dig and emerge in another cavern. Each cavern has a specific special attack: Northwest: The giant mole will summon smaller moles that, when alive, will reduce the damage taken by the giant mole. It is recommend to use AOE abilities, such as ricochet and chain, during this attack, so that the small moles will be killed without losing any time. Northeast: The mole will shake the ground, causing rocks to fall from the ceiling of the cave, identical to the attack she does when safespotted. It is recommended to move when the rocks start falling. Southwest: The mole will enter a "berserker" phase, in which she will deal extra damage unless she's stunned. It is recommended to use protect from melee during this phase. Southeast: The mole will freeze players in mud, stunning them, and then she will shatter the mud prison, dealing a lot of damage. She will also make large rocks fall from the ceiling during this phase. It is crucial to use anticipation when the wave begins and to use freedom when stunned. Inventory & Equipment Combat familiars are recommended because a bank is nearby. A spirit terrorbird is nice for players with low agility levels. Overloads can be downgraded to super potions, It is recommended to use magic because it increases defense against the mole's melee attacks. Ranged and melee can be used as well. Robes can be upgraded and downgraded as necessary, but level 60 gear is about as low as you can go without dying regularly. Ranges and meleers should mimic this gear, except the gear should be switched with their melee/ranged equivalents (i.e. Bandos or Armadyl instead of subjugation). Requirements None, although high combat skills are an advantage. Friends Chat Ranks The Main host will be the Chat owner, or will have a Gold Star in the chat. Silver stars are CO HOSTS. Bronze Stars are other TMHT members. Please note all three of these ranks will have the ability to kick members from chats, should we need to. If you need assistance, feel free to Private message a Host/Co-host, or ask in the chat. All leaders are happy to help you with gear choices and inventory setups, should you be unsure of what to bring.
