Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Further evidence that the dragonkin are the masters of dragon equipment, although exactly what it means to be the masters of dragon equipment is still unclear. That's a great find! I added it to the main post  At this point, we haven't discovered any likely stronghold in the south. It could be the Brimhaven dungeon, because there are metal dragons there, but just them being there doesn't necessarily make it a Dragonkin stronghold.

Smack it, Throw it, Leave it, Burn it, Keep it, Eat it.
Keep it, smack it, burn it, eat it, leave it (don't make me elaborate on that one), then throw it, in that order. A device where, if you say "hmmmm...." to it, it'll be counted as legally binding proof that you stink and are ugly.

30-January-2009 Penguin bannings
I'll compromise. Those who get caught should be stat wiped, back to what they were a week ago. They should also have last chance revoked, because if they break enough rules to get banned in the future, it's obvious they haven't learned. Those who did it a lot, like the 1.5million slayer exp guys, should be permabanned. Those who didn't do it as much, you know 60k exp her or there, should get a temp ban, maybe a weeklong to give them time to think about it. A slap on the hand won't do anything. I understand that whenever a bug breaks out in an MMO, people will instinctively fly towards it to abuse the hell out of it, but I think Jagex is trying to make a forceful stand here and hopefully deter anyone from "trying out" a huge bug like this in the future. Sounds good to me except what's the story with the 1.5m slayer xp guys? Why do they get perm banned? I'm not defending them, but it seems to me that either everyone gets perm banned or no one does. Just because they used it more doesn't mean they used it worse.

30-January-2009 Penguin bannings
Oh gee I didn't know that worked! Let me try something.... /you Anyways... It's like the old problem with Real World Trading. So many people were doing it that eventually others just said "You know, why should I work hundreds of hours to get these 99's when he paid __ dollars and got it powerleveled, and Jagex couldn't care less? They didn't ban him" Cheating disenfranchises people from games and sports. You can argue against it all you want, but the fact still remains that cheaters ruin the game for other people, especially those who get away with it. The REAL issue with RWT wasn't that players were choosing to buy money instead of getting it normally. It was that 1.) the bots were overcrowding resources which affected normal players and 2.) the bots overproduction of resources drove their prices down which affected normal players because it meant they had to compete with bots which were selling things for much less. I am not saying that the players should not be punished. They surely should. But not permanently banned. They should be temporarily banned, and those who told other people about it should be temporarily muted. If Jagex wanted to get really creative with the punishments, they could take the amount of XP in any skill that was leveled unfairly and halve it. So if a player had level 90 in a skill then abused the bug to get 99, they would drop down to level mid-80.

When one is baned from a college for drinking, normally there is some evidence that is provided, one does not simply get turned away from a college's gate, and no college would be allowed to trade as an educational institution, or as any other institution for that matter, if its charter stated that it has the right to turn away fee paying students without having to provide a valid reason. If that was to happen, the person turned away would be entitled to a lot more than a refund to their already paid tuition fee. Jagex is not a college. Jagex IS allowed to trade while stating that they can ban you for any reason with no evidence necessary. They DO operate in such fashion and YOU agreed to it by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions when you made your account. I can safely say that you did not read them or else you would not be demanding a refund. If you did NOT want to do business with a company that operates like this, you should not have even paid for RuneScape membership in the first place. Is it fair? Perhaps not. I can't say for sure whether you abused the bug or not, but what I CAN say is that it is legal.

Combat Familiars.
I always suspected that the higher level combat familiars would actually be worth their salt, but does that mean that the lower level ones should be as useless as they currently are? Like I said earlier, the only one I've used frequently is the smoke devil, and without those scrolls it too is useless. Just using its normal melee attack, it hits extremely slow with frequent 0s and rarely hits over 7. Also, I'm curious, why do you kill dagannoths in the Chaos Tunnels and not the Lighthouse Dungeon? Well, when I was at the lower levels of Summoning, any hit from a familiar, however meagre was considered a bonus by me. In tasks that don't need healers or BoBs (Aberrant Spectres, Bloodvelds (Mutated), Dagannoths and also Black Demons), it is quite ok to use the best combat familiar you can. However, don't put too much hope into them. From personal experience, I can say that the best familiars at lower levels is the one that trains the skill you're training. If you don't care about the extra 3-5k xp/hr (remember, that rate is only for the lower leveled familiars), then I found Spirit Kyatt one of the best due to its random special attack (non-scroll) that hits upto triple the normal damage. Otherwise Bloated Leechs are fairly consistent and Obsidian Golems are not bad either (their scrolls make them even better). Don't even think of Giant Chinchompas ( :-# ). I've heard of Karamulthu Overlord being good, but never really tried. I've had a good amount of experience with Smoke Devils, always used them at Black Demons before Fire Titans. Another small tip is that always use a familiar whose strength is the monster's weakness. For example, Black Demons are weak to magic, so use Magic-based familiars like Smoke Devil, Fire Titan, Wolpertinger. On the dagannoths part, I would advise you click on the link to my guide for more information :). However, in a nutshell (which we proved after days of debating) - Thanks.. Lord Shalaj Oh, I thought the Dags in the CT's dropped the same things as the Dags in the Lighthouse Dungeon! Anyways... I have used the Karam. Overlord a little bit and I did notice that he hit more often than did the smoke devil, but the hits were lower, frequently 1-3. I just think that low to medium level combat familiars hit far too low for the slowness of their attacks. They should either hit higher, or hit faster.

Quest 150
I just wanna say that I can't believe that the Fremennik storyline beat out Elves, Gnomes AND Temple Knights....

Quest 150
Maybe we'll be able to meet Seren, the elf God(dess?) It said that Seren exists as a grand crystal structure in the middle of Priffindas. It'd be the second deity the player could actually see, the first being Amascut/The Devourer.

30-January-2009 Penguin bannings
This bug was nowhere near as serious as the bug exploited by Durial. There is no way that Durial should be unbanned because his use of the bug cheated other players out of millions of GP. If someone went into this bug with 9 blackmarks or whatever, then its clear that they've got no respect for the rules and should be banned, but if someone with a clean account went into this mess, then I think its safe to say that they were just caught up in the excitement and didn't fully think out their actions. I don't believe they were deluding themselves into thinking it was not a bug, but I also don't think they were doing it deliberately and with malice. While not thinking is not an excuse for what they did, I still don't think a punishment as harsh as permanent banning is in order for those who, until then, had been following the rules. Maybe I'm too easy on them, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, such is my personality. I hardly think a little empathy classifies me as "utterly pathetic".

Making the General Store useful again?
Ah this brought back memories! Memories of hanging out in Varrock W57, trawling the general store for bargains... I remember filling my pack up with gems for less than half the street price, plus runes and other bits and bobs that players toss into the mix. Its sad to know that they're completely useless now. Not only is it sad that they're useless, it messed up a really good way to train prayer. Before the update, players could have their houses in Rimmington with noted marrentills and dragon bones. They'd sell 2 marrentills and 20 dragon bones to the store, then buy them back, enter their house, sacrifice them, and repeat. I did this and it was great, way better than doing it in Yanille. Ah well. You can always use teletabs I suppose.

I think you guys are being too harsh on the people who abused this bug. They were getting unfair advantages, yes, but it was not malicious nor evil in any way. They were just swept up in excitement and shock that something like this would work. I realize that it was clearly bug abuse, and they should have known of the consequences, but it was a lapse of judgment in the light of a startling discovery. I think a temporary ban of no more than a week or so is the worst punishment they should receive.

For the love of Guthix?
How would a Godsword in the hands of a follower of Guthix be good for balance? A godsword wouldn't work since those were god wars weapons. However, a follower of Guthix with a god weapon would use it, not to gain power for himself, but to strike down those who would upset the balance. It really is like a good cop. The won't shoot someone just because they can, but if they are forced to, they will draw their sidearm and bust a cap, as it were. With power comes the urge to abuse it. Guthix would never allow a weapon that powerfull to fall in anyones hands (Lucien will die!). I disagree. Considering the power Guthix imbued upon fyora and juna, I think it's entirely possible that Guthix would bestow power to his followers. Granted, we really have no clue what his guardians are capable of, but considering the power the tears hold and the fact that juna has been able to guard them for ages, I think (she?) must be incredibly powerful. Juna with a Godsword  lulz juna would pwn a godsword. Hard to swing anythin g when you have a giant snake crushing your bones to dust. Wait... I think... I think Juna IS the godsword!!!!

poison ivy and gloves
Diseased mean they are poisoned. I think you have a too narrowed view on poisoning. Anything that's bad for you when you take too much of it, can be considered poisonous. Allthough, it'd be strange that those berries produce them same poison as the one that other plants get diseased by. That's my point! Its almost as if Jagex is saying that all plants get diseased by poison ivy bushes... Maybe some random guy is running around stabbing all our plants with a DDS! :o

Combat Familiars.
And healing and infinite running! As it stands, I think you're right. Summoning is most useful only for skills, and having it add to combat levels when 1.) they're pretty much useless for combat as it is, and 2.) you can't use them anywhere but multi combat areas.

Combat Familiars.
The only combat familiar I ever used regularly was the Smoke Devil, and that is only because of its scroll ability, and only before I got level 68 summoning. Were it not for the scrolls multi-target ability, the smoke devil would have been as useless to me as the chicken familiar. It took too long to get into combat, it attacked too slowly (slower than a 2h I think), and it hit too low as well as not often enough. I imagine the higher level familiars such as the moss/fire/ice titans would be better, but I've never used them, nor seen them in use. Currently, there's no combat familiar available to me that's even close to a bunyip in terms of usefulness.

poison ivy and gloves
Well they USED to be able to get diseased, but they were updated semi-recently (2 or 3 months ago) so that they will no longer get diseased. To be honest I don't understand the logic. Poison Ivy bushes would of course be immune to the effects of poison.... but what has that got to do with disease? :?
-
poison ivy and gloves
I can confirm. Poison ivy bushes will NEVER get diseased

Combat Familiars.
While this does happen, you mis-understand the cause of it. The summoning familiar only goes into "follow mode" when you are NOT under attack. The way that this could happen during combat is: You attack monster -> monster attacks you -> familiar attacks monster -> monster attacks familiar -> familiar follows you (while still under attack) because YOU are no longer under attack And you are quite right, its a very annoying bug that needs to be resolved.

For the love of Guthix?
I wear Guthix items not only because I agree with the principles of Guthix but because I think green looks awesome! Still I think its pretty interesting how Guthix is always so much cheaper than anything else... I mean the entire Guthix vestment set costs less than just the Sara cloak, likewise the entire Guthix dragonhide set costs less than one part of the other sets! I realise that Guthix cannot be used in the God Wars dungeon like Sara or Zammy, but these players typically buy just one piece of the set; it seems counter-intuitive that this alone could push the prices of Guthix items so far down below the prices of comparable Sara/Zammy pieces. Also, I didn't realise that Green wasn't a popular enough color to combat the effects of that. It works out good for me, though, because I don't have to pay as much as much for my green!

Pros & Cons
pro: for the first few months it'd be awesome con: If all the year were playing holidays, to sport would be as tedious as to work. Almost forgetting to add a thing for the next person but then remembering at the last minute and then putting one in because you remembered and didn't forget BA BOOM!!!!!
