  1. Just pointing it out, there is a suggestion floating around that petrol could be exempted from an emissions trading scheme at the cost of raising the price of other energy sources further than if it weren't.
  2. So you chose to quote an argument that, well... isn't one. I'm not entirely sure if that was an astronomical exercise in irony on your part, or you were tragically serious.
  3. Except the scientific method is the way by which hypotheses or theories are proven or disproven, rather than the entity in question itself. Your comparison is flawed. You might go further by equating scientific method with scriptural interpretation. Given the existence of various sects within religions, one could argue that the former is far more reliable an indicator of validity than the latter.
  4. Hey guys, Newton isn't exactly representative of the majority of religious people. Just pointing it out, in case you forgot. Bringing him up doesn't exactly disprove that intelligent people are less likely to believe.
  5. Hey guys, Tyrael destroyed the Worldstone. I can't remember the specifics, but that was probably not what Heaven had in mind.
  6. Trotsky was also one of the strongest supporters of collectivisation and oppressing the kulaks, and given time, he would have adopted authoritarian methods as well.
  7. They'd both be authoritarian leftists as well.
  8. I would [bleep] so hard it'd blast all memories of Starcraft: Ghost out of the collective consciousness.
  9. It's either D3 (Because of the Tyrael/Worldstone incident) or, god forbid, Blizzard comes up with a new franchise.
  10. Authoritarian left. What's new?
  11. The Inquisition. =p Also, those people are the outliers that I mentioned earlier. They were hardly representative of the greater mass of religious people of their time.
  12. have I? explain a) The people you know who are discounting the theory of evolution, given the overwhelming empirical evidence to support it, simply because of a few flaws (which you have not described), appear to not be thinking rationally on the subject. B) You claim to know 'lots of stupid atheists, but no stupid Christians': either you know very few Christians, or you know very few non-theists. Or, the third option, which is a combination of the first and the corollary that you are purposefully ignoring the intelligent non-theists you know to support your grossly flawed hypothesis. In either case, the people you know are hardly a representative sample.
  13. Again, correlation != causation. Taller people generally get that way due to better nutrition, which is more often than not present in first-world countries, whereas those of shorter stature tend to come from poorer countries with much less, if any, access to the same diet.
  14. You seem to have missed the point of my post completely.

Still have it. Like all 4x games, it's ridiculously addictive and time consuming.
  16. BY THE EMPEROR, NOBODY CARES. BECOME AN HERO, IN THE EMPEROR'S NAME.
  17. This doesn't say much about the intelligence of the people you know. Nothing positive, anyway.
  18. Mine had a mesmerising man and a red background that looked cool. >=(
  19. Correlation doesn't imply causation. Also, IQ isn't a reliable indicator of intelligence. But you might want to provide a footnote for that, because that's a pretty tall claim. Unfair generalisation there. Religions as a whole don't reject science, just those practices and theories which go against their doctrine. Last I checked, the Catholic Church didn't have anything against the laws of motion or thermodynamics. In before someone uses outlier examples like Newton and Einstein to debunk the OP.
  20. Except you wouldn't be able to use your wings to fly safely in high winds, areas of strong turbulence or in places without enough clearance to flap or glide. Oh and your flight will be affected by up- and downdrafts. Not fun at all. Also, you have a larger radar profile and target cross-section.
  21. Weapon: Browning M2HB. Music: Manowar - Hand of Doom or Manowar - Sons of Odin. Companion: Rogal Dorn.
  22. Levitation is more convenient, inconspicuous and has more utility. Also, you can just BUILD wings and not have to flap them to fly. You could have a wardrobe of wings for all occasions.

    Nobody cares.
