  1. They've been here since page 1, silly mon-keigh.
  2. Try something closer to three or four people before the mass panic crushes you or pulls all available targets out of reach. And those three or four won't necessarily die, either.
  3. Maximum theatrics.

I see your sai and raise you a broadsword:

Martial arts are only there to give people the illusion of knowing how to defend themselves. Mostly they teach you how to save yourself against people who fight the same way you do.
  6. Only once. And anyhow, this is now my pet setting, as I've been running D&D games in it for the past two and a half years now.
  7. A, because painting and playing Warhammer 40k is likely to take up 20 years or so anyway. And you get free sex and food.
  8. Real men play Guard.
  9. In no particular order... Chrono Trigger Morrowind Final Fantasy VI Fallout Baldur's Gate II
  10. I've been largely turned off by David Eddings, on account of the way all his characters sound the same across different series, and he has a way with screwing up potentially good story arcs with "O lol we have God on our side". That said, Althalus was good, even if it did suffer from the same faults. Eisenhorn is a great series. If you can't find the omnibus edition, the three books are Xenos, Malleus and Hereticus. If you're new to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Eisenhorn is a great place to start. And why on earth would you play on a private server if you can't gank silly Alliance on it?
  11. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. And if any stores in your area stock books from the Black Library, look into Dan Abnett's Eisenhorn series, in the omnibus edition if you can find it.
  12. You realise your little act of hardcore rebellion is something that uni students do every night, right?
  13. We get that here, too. It's always some gangsta-wannabe blasting out rap or hip hop, oblivious to the fact that fake gunshots and shotgun pumping sounds don't actually make people think you're hardcore. And as for cinemas... Anyone who lets their backlight be seen in my presence, or even have the audacity to talk on the phone or not turn their damn mobile on silent is asking to be urinated upon.
  14. People die everyday. What makes this incident so special that it deserves to be reported? Oh, right. Children dying. And it's related to video games. *Cashier sounds*
  15. Pictures or it didn't happen.
  16. Thread is now about popcorn. I like mine buttered and really salty.
  17. Anything from the Fallout series.
  18. I was looking for specific citations for all your claims, rather than a "bibliography". Also, citing wiki as a credible source, regardless of whether a given article claims to be written by a professional, doesn't raise my opinion of your work in any way. It also doesn't help that all you have as references are four websites and a film documentary.
  19. I can't take this seriously as an essay because you don't cite any evidence to support your argument.
  20. What motivated me to write for NaNoWriMo was the fact that I told practically everyone I know that I was doing it, and I would've looked a right silly bugger if they asked me about it later and I said I gave up on it.

Why on earth would we buy fireworks when we can go to Sydney Harbour and see them there? The money we save that way can go a long way towards all the booze we will consume in the aftermath.
  22. Immigrants do it too, and even flat out refuse to learn English when they come here. Your moral high horse is just a friggin' mule.
  23. Writing isn't something you do only under the right conditions. Man it up. If you screw up the first time, that's why there's an editing phase. Also: 1. Because prior to the RLPT, the majority of the people who posted on it had never even been seen by the OT regulars, and the activity in the thread has caused some spillover into the rest of the board. 2. Lol wut! 3. Probably because the fundies on the board are flaming evangelists who say that everyone should convert to X religion or suffer Y torment in the afterlife.
  24. And as he paced through the streets... what, exactly? I think you managed to leave out the other half of that sentence. Consider that everything after the first instance of "streets" is what is called in grammatical terms an "adjunct", meaning that it can be left out and still maintain the clause's meaning. You would get this: *As Ruben paced through the streets. You need something to follow that, like: As Ruben paced through the streets, he was confronted by a delicious and moist cake. In that example, you can put all the description you had originally between "streets" and "he". Also, the name Ruben is not doing anything for me. It sounds too modern and conventional, and really jars against the fantasy setting you're trying to get across.
