That was actually the end of the terrain, so that's endless sky you're looking at. I never seem to be able to cover that up since the piece pretty much required the camera to cover the entire terrain. World Machine, for some reason, always makes small terrains. Normally, I'd cover it up with clouds, but this one wouldn't budge.

I honestly think I'm improving. Thanks to Nadril for the idea of sharpening the end product. It really does help when mixed with a 4.0 gaussian blur. Feedback, please!
  3. If you're having power surges, then dying in Runescape is probably the least of your problems. Stop playing when you're having power surges.
  4. Looks like you'd need a trebuchet to knock those walls down. :?
  5. I'm in. Haven't done anything for this board for a while, anyway.
  6. Any clueless sod who knows what's good for them, that's who. :P Yes, I'm a D&Der and I love Planescape.
  7. And I thought you'd quit TIF, Rhys! The closest I've ever come to one of those this year was at New Year's Eve, watching the fireworks down at the harbour with a girl, far enough to avoid all the crowds and people-noise. We started going out a couple of months later.
  8. I still don't know exactly how SO overlays work. GRR! Anyway, nice work there.
  9. Maybe to keep it in line with Runescape's general theme, take the technology level down a notch and make them slings rather than slingshots. For those who are utterly ignorant, a sling launches pebbles or round bullets by being whirled then released. You could make slings using only any type of non-hardened leather, a needle and thread. You get pebbles practically anywhere where there is a fair density of rocks, and they're essentially free. For higher-quality ammunition, you have to either purchase bullets or cast them in a mould by melting down metal bars.
  10. So young, yet you understand some of the more less talked about things in life, that's great man :D. So now we know not all people under the age of 15 who play runescape are narrowminded. As you can see here if you have read all the post clearly, I sided differently and changed my mind from what Z was talking about. im sorry dude, i only read the first 2 posts before i made mine, your right. it isnt fair. your basing the mayority on the minority. lets say i would make a chat with you in RS, and you would ask my age, and i would say im 14. you would probably go calling me a scammer, if i read the horribly discriminating posts you have written. in case you havent noticed, this is an anti-discrimination topic, and yet you post away and blame it all on the younger players for the heck of it. you say that everyone under 15 years old are spoilt little immature brats, and thats plain BS. i dont know if you have ever talked to a 15 year old, or even ever saw a picture of one, but 15 year olds are not little devils with horns on their head. why dont you stop blaming everything thats bad in this world to younger players. just because you met a few 15 year olds who were a jerk, doesnt indicate that were all jerks. you havent seemed to count the 100 000s of players under 15 years of age who were just playing this game, minding there own business and not insulting everyone. stop blaming people all kinds of horrible things just because they are "below 15 years of age", because youll only make a fool out of yourself Excuse me? Where did I, on my own initiative, go out of my way to blame things on people? I merely expressed my opinion that these things happen because of a large number of immature people playing this game. I never pointed the finger at anyone for being a scammer or whatever "just because" they were under fifteen years of age. In fact, age is one of the last things I consider when judging people, but I see it as a wonderful reason for players of this game to act the way they do. You seem to have caught onto this idea that I suddenly went and flat out accused every person under fifteen years of age for every problem that arises in this world. You're wrong. To be honest, I don't see WHERE you could've gotten that impression, but the fact stands that I did not do any of the above beyond saying that a certain demographic is responsible for some of the less tasteful activities in this game. I did go out of my way to mention that there are exceptions, but the majority are in fact part of the demographic. Now, stop putting words into my mouth which I clearly did not say and get the hell back on topic. Slander is something I don't take kindly to.
  11. yup, all bad things in runescape are the younger players fault, seriously. you have blamed scamming on "people younger than fifteen" and now you blame rascism on "people below fifteen years of age" too. im 14 years old, and i am NOT a rascist. and catcher bl0k, i dont understand you, you post an anti-discrimination topic, and you blame it all on "the people below 15 years of age" just like zonorhc, which is discrimination. i would just like to know what the HELL i have done wrong to get blamed for everything thats bad in RS. scamming - rudeness - and now rascism - seems the moral of RS is BLAME THE YOUNGER PLAYERS! seems like im pure evil and need to be banned immidiatly cuz im 14. god please forgive me that im 14, it seems to be horribly wrong. this is really getting out of hand, today i have come across at least 4 threads where something bad is blamed on "the people below 15 years of age" tell me, how is that NOT discrimination. It's a fair generalisation of the demographic. Sure, you get isolated cases of decent people, but the majority holds true with my statement.
  12. It depends, really... If you want a parent layer for sand or something, you'll want a low fractal noise to begin with, since that makes it look a lot smoother. Child layers could be given high fractal noise ratings and low coverage to scatter them around the terrain. Bascially, experiment with those two sliders, because they're VERY useful.
  13. It's a generalisation, but a fair one. There ARE rare cases of people 15 years and under who are mature enough to not make idiots of themselves, but the majority of that demographic is composed of spoilt, immature children.
  14. Adding onto what Nadril said about fractal noise, a higher fractal noise setting makes colour patches sharper and more distinct. If the fractal noise level is lower, it creates more of a blanket coverage, and gives a softer appearance. It's very useful for transitionary colour. http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/7229 ... fel6by.jpg There's an example of low fractal noise settings on the grass. It's not terribly good, but it gets the point across.
  15. It's spelt "bestiary." Can you think of something more imaginative than scimitars?
  16. Owned. Also, I'd like to point out an inconsistency where Zamorak is labelled as an evil god when he is specifically made out to be a god of chaos. Chaos /= evil. archimage, Shott here has made a far better argument than you ever have. I guess it's not saying much, since you never actually posted canon proof.
  17. It's infinitely better than other level-treadmill MMORPGS (Runescape, WoW...) Stay away from ROSEOnline. It's boring as hell once you figure you're just clicking to level up and nothing else.
  18. Taking a quick overview of Runescape's demographics, I find that racism fits in perfectly. I don't condone it or even tolerate it myself, but you must understand that a lot of the people who play this game are (gods help us) below fifteen years of age. To make things just a little worse, a lot of these people are frustrated with their own mediocrity or the "earth-shattering issues" of their lives such as low marks or girl troubles (Oh noes! You broke up with a girl when you're 13! Surely the world is not worth living in!). Still more are spoilt children used to living in their parents' pockets. This doesn't really paint a very good picture of Runescape's population, but sadly, it's fairly accurate. You should always expect to run into an immature person, because the nature of the internet allows village idiots to go outside their own village. Tack on the anonymity that the internet offers, and you've got quite a treat for people who wish to discriminate. Remember that these people will not under any circumstances ever dare to say such things to you on the street, so under the provision that they are cowards, you can ignore them quite readily.
  19. It's really much the same as the way "judgement" is an acceptable mis-spelling of "judgment."
  20. I'm amazed that you can type so much but say so little.
  21. Actually, low fractal noise on the grass for the most part, with varying degrees of coverage. I still haven't quite figured out how to use overlays, so I'll play with those next time.
  22. Well, it's art for a D&D campaign setting in the works, and I thought I'd put it up here. There was a bit of post-process work involved to bring out some better colours. I'm pretty satisfied with the surface map, but constructive criticism would be good to have as well.
  23. ROSE is one of those MMORPG level treadmills that rots your mind. While I think a bit of magi-tech is in order, it shouldn't appear at this point in time. Perhaps magic-powered technology could appear later and appear gradually to simulate ongoing development.
  24. Nope U say that Pi x pi / pi x pi = 1 It's 2pi! Look, pi x pi / pi x pi = pi x pi / pi + pi x pi / pi = pi + pi = 2Pi 8) Actually, no. pi^2 / pi^2 = 1 In much the same way as: pi^5 / pi^5 = 1 Remember that a number divided by itself always equals 1.
  25. I'm still trying to improve my writing, so I might not get around to submitting anything for a while. Plugs in my sig.
