  2. The max hit is 5 more than the god spells from level 50 to level 80. Sure you are probably not going to pull many whips pking people under level 100, but you can have a combat level of 40 and cast Iban blast that will own your opponant in wildy well into the 70s, making for a very nice haul of rune plates. Also, the effects of the god spells really don`t have much of an effect on the outcome of a pk though. Guthix`s reduction of def might be the best, even there you are going for the hits, not the side effects. 12pure34 - Ya. I have ancients too, but I still enjoy a bit of hunting with my trusty Iban Staff. Fire Blast? It has a base of 34.5, and a max of 16. That averages out to about 52 xp per cast (7.7 xp per gp), or about 33% less than Iban Blast. You will never hit higher. With that reasoning you might as well go with your chaos gauntlets and use bolt spells, 38 xp per cast (5.2 xp per gp). That approaches Iban in terms of xp per gp, but the xp is twice as slow. Come on dude, just stay off the thread. There is no extra payment associated with charging the staff. What `much better mage xp` were you talking about? Some numbers backing that claim up would be nice, but there arent any! yeah salarin is awesome...however he takes his time respawning... :| I hit rarely hit 12s, and average out to 10 damage each spell. At 80 gp per cast, that is 31.5 xp per cast, so about 2.5 xp per gp. This is cheap xp, but you would have to train for 66% longer to achieve the same outcome.

  4. Sorry man, but only a 5/10 vote from me. You are missing some of the best herblore information in the game. Vials: Purchasing them in Mort`myr(sp?) general store is very fast, and there is always 100 of them in stock. Bank in Burg De Rott and you can even collect faster than Ardo, because of the large stock there. Herbs: You neglected to mention Flesh crawlers in the Stronghold of Security. These monsters have the best herb drop in the game. Chaos druids do drop herbs, but 25% of them are guams and merrintils. The flesh crawlers not only drop more of them, they drop better herbs. Seconds: Eyes of newt. Banking in Fally is faster. This is also a great opportunity for cross training. Wear an air tiarra, and craft airs on the way down and buy eyes of newt on the way up. Sure you are missing out on 1 less eye of newt (or more if you have pouches), but the rc exp and the airs adds up very fast. Limps - These are easiest to buy on f2p worlds. Trade a str pot for 2 limps. Hobgoblins also have a very good drop rate, and are much faster than hill giants. White berries: The fastest is level 40 wildy. Just bring a glory, run out and collect. Then tele out of level 30. Noone pks at the red drags out there, so it is pretty safe, and besides if you are pked you onkly drop a few berries. An easy trade off for the fast collecting times. Zammy wines: You also neglected to mention here that you need to telegrab them, or kill every mage in the chaos temple. Energy pots: Dont bother selloing them! Use them while training/collecting seconds/collecting herbs... all the time! P pots: These are very easy to sell in bulk, and make a very nice profit. Please mention that noone should be making def pots from ranars. They are just useless. QUESTS There are 2 very important quests you neglected to mention as well. Edgar`s Ruse has a bonus of over 10k herblore xp. Very nice when you are going for ledgends herblore. Shades of Mort`Meyr. This allows you to make serum 207, one of the fastest ways to get herblore xp in the game. It takes tarromin and ash as the second. Since ash is free allover, and tarromin is easy to get, this is a great way to train herblore, even in the 50s. When used on afflicted, you also get tarromin in return for healing them. Just my 2 cents for your guide though.
  5. The max is 20 until you can charge. Was I unclear in my earlier post? I would be happy to entertain any screenies of a mage under 75 (You can pot to 80 from 75) who hits over 20, but you won't find one. The cape does not increase the max hit of the spell.

Nowhere did I say that it takes 200k to charge a staff. It is 200k to get a new one, but charging the staff is free. Kind of makes it obvious that you have never done it. Dude...Do you mage at all? The god spells aren't autocastable either! (well, unless you have the Void Knight Mace). Average hit: 14 for 70.5 xp Cost per xp: 5.67 God Spell (lvl 60-80): Base - 35, can hit 20 For a full hit: 75 Cost per cast: 1,320gp. Average hit: 11.5 for 58 xp Cost per xp: 22.75 God Spell (with charge) Base - 35, can hit 30 For a full hit: 95 Cost Per cast: 1,320 (but charge spell costs 1,920) Average hit: 17.25 for 69.5xp ** Cost per xp: 20.4 I estimaged the ave hit for the charged spell because I can't do it and have no data for it, but I took my average hit from the uncharged and used the same percentage out of 30 as I was hitting out of 20. The cost per xp is also based n 20 hits per charge.
  8. Hmm. Think about that one too. 1 iteming mage? What am I suppose to do? Hit ya with my staff? Runes and food drop 100% of the time. Yes I agree there, but the helm and the ammy are near useles, so no real loss there. The lunar ammy is only +1 mage, much worse than an amulet of magic. The ring on the other hand offers a +2 bonus. I have seen it called the poor man's seer ring.

  10. I wasn`t trying to find fault with everyone there, just reset some common mis-conceptions about my favorite trusty old Iban Blast. Yes it is a bit far to recharge, but I (and most people I know) are happy to do it. Besides all of the lazy guys I know are rangers.
  11. Have you even done the quest? It takes no time at all. 10 minutes max if you were walking. True there, but look at the alternative, during the quest these can be had for free, well it costs 400gp to tan 4 hides. Does not risking 200k in clothes seem to be any kind of a bonus? Thank you very little... hey man remedial English might be for you. In my first post I pretty clearly stated that it is FREE during the quest. I am wondering if I should just leave it unfinished to have access to free semi-decent mage armour.

  13. Alch prices: Lunar top: 60gp Helmet for 60gp Pants for 60 gp That is all I am going to do. They appear to not protect over much at those prices.
  14. There is no drop option, only destroy, so I would think that they are valueless, but since I am in the unique position to test this. I will ahve some results later.
  15. I was looking at the stats of lunar clothes, compared to split bark armour. Lunar seems better. During the quest, lunar is free. Well, you need to expend a few runes killing a suqah (or just meele it), but you can make as much lunar as you need for free. Should I not complete the quest and jsut keep the access open for free lunar armour?
  16. Whoa. This spell hits hard and often. It blows away all modern mage spells until you can charge god spells. Dude, again way way off here. Iban hits up to 25 from mage level 50. You can cast the god spells from level 60, but they max out at 20! You can`t hit a 30 until you can cast the charge spell at level 80, so Iban blast beats all of the god spells from level 50 to level 80. That is not an insignificant period. No way... *goes off to left click* I am sure that came along in a recent update. Kill Zammy mages and they will drop a broken Iban staff. This can be repaired in East Ardo for 200k.
  17. No tracker of how many uses. Plain and simple. The fear that it could go out at any time is too much for most people. Non auto castable is also a big minus. 150 uses against monsters and 75 against players is also a bit too few. I do use my iban for pking though. It hits more consistantly and higher than god spells. I can also get 2 barrows trips out of 1 charge on my iban, and I use it frequently there as well. I just wish it was auto castable.
  18. And you have some sort of proof that the f2p income is not significant? Add income from free to play is a significant part of Jagex income.
  19. Don't waist yours and others time at PC. You are the minimum level to get in there. People will be angry with you, and you will not get any decent training. It is like the moron I saw the other day ranging experiments with 5 range. Well, everyone knows that experiments give fast xp, but at range 5 you can't hit them! Wake up and smell the coffee! Chickens man! At PC it is actually slower to XP if you are playing long games and not winning 100% of the time. Slayer kills 2 birds with 1 stone, but Stronghold of Security is also another great place to train, with very good and consistant drops.
  20. Thanks cool guy, but please, the entire idea of this group is to gain xp. I would be very happy to teach you how to play the game myself, but the fact of the matter is that the 500 XP you need to get to level 3 is not that hard to obtain. The benefits of this group are far more than any level 1 would understand, and the requirements can be met in well under an hour. Without 500 XP you don`t even know if you like the mini game or not, unless you are one of the `rocket scientist` Level 100+ who believes that queen kill count is all that counts and doesn`t care about points.
  21. My RSN is kamakiri88. I am the first one on the list 8-) I am going to try to set up some times when we can get together. Is anyone planning to attend the TETau event this Saturday? If so I was thinking that might be a good time to have an initial get to know each other party. Trouble Brewing is another of my favorite mini-games.

    Seaweed?

    The fairy method is slower by about 30 seaweed per hour. Using glory and lyres you can collect 680 seaweed an hour. If you have super glass make, lunar spell, then you can make glass directly from seaweed and sand. If you don't, then you can cook all of the seaweed to soda ash faster by using the rairy rings because there is a range right there near the bank in Entrana.
  23. One tip for the Azarinian mines, is to mine a full inventory and just log out and in again. It takes about as much time as taking off your helm, and you end up on the outside with a full invent of gold, as opposed to having that empty spacy you used for the helm.
  24. UK Dragon - Sorry I need you at level 3. If you are as good as you say, you can get there in less than 30 minutes, so it shouldn`t be much of a problem. Level 1 just means to me that you haven`t even 200 XP, and that is just too low.
  25. I read through part of your guide and didn't see anything about this. All of the above skills can be potted to to complete the quests, so the requirements are significantly lower. Str with a Str pot Agility:51 (I just completed it using summer pies) Herblore:53 (It could possibly be done at 52, but getting that +5 from stew is near impossible and would take longer than just getting that last level. Smithing: 63 with Dwarven stout (m), or possibly 60 with stew. Fishing: Can be potted with a fishing pot, but I am not sure of the bonus at that level. Cooking: 68 (I used Chef's Delight to cook the snake.)
