No Lionheart you're not even close to being one of the forums worst spellers and you're posts are usually not even close to being unreadable. Everybody makes the occasional typo or grammar error. A good bit of people are actually terrible spellers and don't put a terrible amount of effort into their grammar. But even then, that's still not too unreasonable. What I think the threadstarter is trying to say is, if it becomes a chore to read your post then very few people are going to take the time to read it. Is this unreasonable? No. It's a forum. You have all the time in the world to post and if you're in a hurry, nobody is making you post. All the threadstarter is saying (or so I think) and all I'm saying, is this is a community where we communicate ideas to one another and putting a little bit of effort into your posts in order to make them easier to read, makes the whole process go smoother. Jesus, I'm making long posts tonight.

People ask, "What's wrong with remembering 9/11?" I say there's nothing wrong with it. It should become a permanent part of our memory, just as Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust, the Armenian Massacre, the Cambodian Killing Fields, the Madrid train station blast, etc. should become a permanent part of our memory. It seems that what a lot of people don't understand, is 9/11 wasn't just an "act" or an "event". It was also a process. Just as all the previous mentioned tragedies and all the other senseless tragedies in history were also processes. It starts when people have a difference of beliefs and one or more of those people assumes the "right" to call his belief the truth. Then they start to feel that those other "false" beliefs are encroaching on their "truths" and limiting their effectiveness. Then the seeds of bigotry and hatred are born. Then it slowly starts to develop into a "them" versus "us" mentality. First, it's just the ones that are the most dangerous, i.e. the ones that are most devoted to the opposing cause. Then slowly the line between the staunch devotees of the opposing cause and the ones who aren't quite so devoted becomes blurred. Then line between those and the one's who aren't devoted at all becomes blurred. Then it reaches the point where there is no line. It becomes a violent, paranoid state of defending the "right" belief at all costs. And at that point, the seeds for tragedy are sown. This is what needs to be remembered. This is what needs to be taught. It doesn't matter what nation a tragedy occurs in or what people are affected; it's still a tragedy. Yes, remember the event. But remember why the event started. Remember what the event taught us. That's everything I have to say about the entire 9/11 issue.

Every now and then I have manic periods where I get that for about a week or two. Sometimes I have depressive periods though that last for about a month or two where I sleep about 13-14 hours a day.

If I would've had a choice I would've rather went somewhere else besides school and done something else besides learn. But while I was there I enjoyed it. And for anybody who just can't stand highschool, just wait until university/college-trust me.

I don't quite understand exactly what you're saying, but Tigra's got a point. While that sounds nice, number theory has virtually no practical applications. Now, I wouldn't criticize or insult somebody just because they're interested in something I don't find useful, but it is kind of funny that so many mathematicians over the past 300+ years have spent so much time trying to prove something and now that it's proven, nothing's changed.

There's nothing to prove. Fermat said a^n + b^n = c^n has no real solution when n is 3 or greater. In 1995 Andrew Wiles published his 150 something page corrected proof that proved Fermat's thereom to be correct. I think that's right.

When that happens, the loot is perhaps 5 times as big, but there are at least 10 times more tickets sold. It would be smarter to buy a ticket whenever there's not much at stake. Yeah, but I figure if I'm gonna waste money on something that has virtually no chance of being a good investment, I'm gonna go all the way.

But we can try to prove whether or not things in the Bible (or other holy books) actually happened. Of course we can't prove the supernatural elements of the books but we can examine the natural elements in which those stories occur. It might be impossible to actually disprove any of the stories since they can always be explained away with the explanation of miracle on top of miracle; but a lot of the times it is possible to reach a relatively accurate conclusion on how probable the actual occurence of those events is. And to me, arguing probablity or arguing possibility seems to be the biggest difference between believer and non-believers.

That's true. I'm sure we could find at least 1 famous person that died for every day of the year. Somebody who's famous now dieing is one thing but just having rememberance threads could get redundant. It would probably be more productive to debate whether or not we still think Tupac's alive.

I searched online for you and couldn't find anything. But what you might want to try is see if you have a store in your area that can make wristbands and try to get them to make you one. We have a store in our area that makes customized shirts and other accessories like bracelets, headbands, etc. You might find a store like that or something.

I'm just curious so please don't feel like I'm attacking you or anything. And this can pretty much go out to anybody who believes in a particular god. Once you come to the conclusion that God exists - Why do you choose your god? Why your religion? Why can't God exist without having a religion?

There's no artificial way to suddenly gain discipline. If you really want to do something, just suck it up and do it. You'll find that things that start out being hard get easier the more you do them.

I disagree. Sunsets, mountains, etc. Yeah, there free but they don't even come close to what I consider "the best things." All my basic needs cost money except oxygen, and some people even have to pay for that. I agree with the first law of physics: "Everything that's fun costs at least 8 dollars."

Didn't they find like microorganisms on Mars or something? If they didn't then I say it's possible. To say there has to be life out there or there can't be life out there is ridiculous. Until we find proof the best we can do is speculate.

He said that if you look at christians and compare them to "normal people" there is something in christians that set them apart. Now, if this something that sets them apart is being more devoted to Jesus Christ then duh, that's a given. But taken in context with his whole post it seems like he's saying christians are more giving, caring, happy, fullfilled etc. And that is quite simply, false. There are christians who are living fullfilled, happy lives and are upstanding, moral people. And there are non-christians who are living fullfilled, happy lives and are upstanding, moral people.

Don't you ever ask yourself why there's no proof or facts? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to examine the basis for your beliefs instead of applying the blind bandage of faith? Actually you won't. I know it's convenient to simply discount all the christians who live terrible lifestyles by claiming their not "real christians" but you can't ignore the fact that there are millions upon millions of people who aren't christians who still live lives that are just as virtuous or moral as any christian.
