  1. It's always been that way, if I understand you correctly: it doesn't matter what the workers are on except on the day you collect. Before that, they accumulate "work", not actual items. I've always used this as a feature: the day I go to collect, I check the GE to see which combination is most profitable, change the workers to that, and then collect.
  2. For the no habitat, the ground looks like the ground in a garden or formal garden (if you have one of those, use it for reference). It may be dependent on house style (I'm not sure). I have the fancy stone house style, and the no-habitat ground is smooth and dark green, with no grass. I personally think it looks much better than any of the actual habitats. Edit: here's a pic from my house:
  3. Nope, only 1 menagerie per house. :(
  4. I was really hoping for this too, alas. :(
  5. To open the trapdoor, you need to meet the following conditions: 1. Put the lever in challenge mode 2. Have someone stand on the trapdoor 3. Pull the lever Unfortunately, you can't drop yourself in (you have to have someone else pull the lever), and the door won't do anything unless there is someone on it. (As far as I know.)
  6. Fist of Guthix has tons of space and a quick tele.
  7. August 2008. Last question on the page. http://poll.runescape.com/results.ws?id=267 (Why oh why don't we have Spanish yet? :( )
  8. Cool, have fun with that! And good luck on 99. :)
  9. Lol, I saw that and changed my post. Dangit, though, I was too late. :) Anyways, I looked around some, and I found this very interesting video on Youtube demonstrating how to alch while heavy rod fishing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e86KlYagOpM Apparently, there is a minimum wait time between catches, so if you alch real quick after you catch a fish and then click on the fishing spot again, you don't lose any fishing speed (since you wouldn't have caught anything during that time span anyways). You could possibly do this with fletching bolts, if it works with alching - just feather some bolts immediately after you catch a fish, then click on the spot again. (Definitely doesn't sound as fun as literally doing both at the same time, though!)
  10. Most of these have been answered, but here's a few I felt I could add some more information on: This was true only very briefly. From what I understand, when Jagex re-tooled the running animation, players were upset because you could no longer run and eat at the same time. One of the employees made a quick fix to solve the run/eat issue, and they threw in an added benefit: you could multitask other things as well. So for a few hours, players could fletch while woodcutting or alch while fishing. But Jagex reverted the change pretty quickly (too unbalancing), so now you can't. I think so. I get tons of swordfish and sharks from my lobsters. Additionally, by the time you get 74 summoning, you'll also be able to use fruit bats (free money while doing other skills) and arctic bears (hunting boost). No, not really. I used admiral pies for a while with a monkfish, and I'd catch two or three monkfish before the whole boost wore off. It was onerous, expensive, and ultimately not beneficial. Ibises and lobsters give a much cheaper, more enduring boost. Despite their slower speed than heavy rod fishing or Shilo fishing, I prefer monkfish myself, because they are slow enough that I can read articles while only glancing at the screen occasionally.

  12. Equip a pair of climbing boots, grab a dramen/lunar staff, and use the fairy ring AJR. Walk north a tad, then east, climbing over the rubble you encounter. Go into the cave entrance, run north, and go up 2 (? I think) ladders. Then run south again, and you should be in the same room you encounter when you enter using the Trollheim tele. From there do as you would usually. It sounds more completed than it is, but you do have to remember the boots and staff. I used this until my mage was high enough for spellbook swap, and I thought it was reasonably fast.
  13. I've enjoyed it for 25.6M xp and counting. It was my first 99 and remains my favorite skill. It's also funded me through 90 Construction and 99 Magic, Smithing, Crafting, Prayer, and (soon to be) Herblore.
  14. When I trained prayer, I used house tabs and a war tortoise. I got ~670 bones per tortoise, which correlates to roughly 890 bones per hour (225k xp per hour). I did not use the two-bone trick, which would have been faster but would have required more attention.
  15. If you're just getting members, Taverly is a good place to start because it makes early summoning training much easier. After you get 57 summon (for kyatt), you can move it elsewhere. yanille: redundant, since you can have a yanille portal inside the house brimhaven: decent choice if you plan on farming (it's near a fruit tree patch), although ardy tele + boat will get you to the area reasonably fast anyways pollnivneach: great if you need to get to the area often, such as for blackjacking, but only until you get the slayer ring, which can tele you there relleka: redundant once you've unlocked lyres (forget which quest that is) rimmington: near a bush patch, but not much else taverly: good for summoning training and easy access to the Member's dungeon; also near a tree patch for farming and the place where you recharge glories Currently, my house is in Pollivneach because it's a pain to get there otherwise and I stop by frequently for blackjack thieving training. However, once you get enough slayer points to learn how to make slayer rings (I haven't yet), this location becomes unnecessary. Hope that was at least a bit helpful! I remember planning out my POH as f2p also, and construction was the first skill I trained in members.
  16. I use roses and bluebells together (just the two) and I think it looks pretty good.
  17. If you don't like minigames and aren't in a rush, battlestaves are also a great option. I got 99 crafting using air battlestaves, buying the battlestaves and air orbs on the GE and selling the resulting air battlestaves on the GE as well. It always cost in the area of 2 gp per xp, which put it in the same range as green dhides + SC needles. The only drawback to air bstaves is the GE purchase limit (600 staves per day), so you'll either end up taking a few months to get the levels (as I did) or resort to buying in bulk on the forums. At any rate, it's worth consideration! :)
  18. I just switched to non-browser multi-tasking, like reading actual books while having RS open in the only tab, or switching as seldom as possible if I do have multiple tabs open. If you come up with a real solution, let me know!
  19. This happens to me on my netbook but not my desktop, and I use the same browser (Firefox) and extensions on both. It may be a problem with processor speed or memory, not Java.
  20. "Use" the item on the leprechaun.
  21. I imagine a lot of female players simply fly under the radar, particularly if their avatar's style is androgynous. Most people address me as "Sir" thanks to the fact that I avoid midriff-baring clothing and pigtails.
  22. In my experience it is roughly one fruit per hour.
  23. Yeah, farming is weird. Every now and then you'll get 2-day trees and 4-hour herbs. (And don't get me started on brewing... once I brewed a vat of Chef's Delight that took 6 days instead of the usual 24 hours.) :)
  24. From Postbag 31: [hide=] [/hide] Looks like they'll be doing more with them eventually.
