  1. I got into drawing um.. early. I just liked drawing things with my brother, and neighbour, who could draw the most ownage cars for example. Since my brother was very accurate with his drawings, he always won :) Anyway, I kept on drawing a bit now and then for several years, till I got into runescape. One time I was browsing through Runevillage and noticed sigs selling for big prices. So I used my sucky photoshop skills to try and earn some cash. Never won anything big, but then the pixelcraze came up selling for even more money. So I entered that craze, cheated with everything I made (Using brushes and opacity settings and things to make my stuff look better then others. No, I did not have paint because I'm on a Mac. Photoshop I do have, so yea..) Anyway, here's a thread of ages past showing some of my pixel work with some more descriptions. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=284 ... sc&start=0
  2. I showed a zoom-in to show the changes I made better. And yea, I guess that that C&C is pointless now.
  3. The eyes and nose are a bit off for such a pretty girl; and a slightly altered version, lowering the eye, the hair, and a new nose; It might be to pretty and cute for the situation you might want to create, but I wouldn't know. Then there is some unfinished things, like ofcourse the couch missing a piece, but the girl's shading and pose is superb.
  4. I didn't take offense, and no, adding detail, detail and more detail is not my style. Not a style even. Small heads and long legs is. And yes, I noticed the fat outline and I know I [bleep]ed that up right at the start, just read my first post. The reason it's lifeless is probably the coloring, which I tried not to make very extravaganly, which would not suit such a .. deathknight. The reason it doesn't have much perspective is because the picture is from full frontal view. To not make it to boring, I added the diagonal legs and arms, and the cape. Your other point was noted.
  5. Thanks for all the replies, sorry for posting this so late, but I don't come here all that often. I'll try posting some more work.. If I ever make it -.-
  6. An update on hair, cape and stuff around his eyes. Improvement?
  7. I don't really post a lot on here, or make a lot anymore; but I was kinda proud I actually made something for a change (Haven't made something in... a lot of months) I'd like some C&C on it, but before you start. The head is small on purpose. I'm a big fan of cartoony, disproporioned characters, hence why I made the body bigger then the head, and the legs quiet long. Still, I do want symmetry, so if you find something with that, you can put in in your critics. Other things I kinda already noticed are the (imo) too fat outlines on it.. Had a to big pen when I was outlining the original drawing. The pattern on the right (our right) leg (between the pieces of plate armour) is bigger then that on the left and on the arms. So yea.. here it is.
  8. This topic is nearly a year old. I can understand Misterx's pictures are really, uber cool but to bring this topic back from the world of the dead to honor it's birthday? o_0
  9. First guy.. is it Vash the Stampede? :) That one is nicely done, though the hand and arm on the gun is a bit small, and the head a little to big compared to the rest of the body. The second one had a nice perspective, and the sizes of the bodyparts are good. It's not a very interesting character though (Plain blue hat, robe, cape) It could maybe use some more aggresive shading, though that's more a matter of style. Just keep it up :)
  10. Messy as in, dirty yellow (blackened yellow) which makes the fire look less 'hot' and fiery. You used a small brush to brush the shadow over the fire, making it look like lots of small swirly streams instead of one massive fire blast; and the random black places in the fire look to.. random.
  11. Maybe it's gone to quick? Maybe it's to transparent? Maybe it's nearly the same colour as the background? Whatever the reason, the text is a bit vague, and a sig is (In my opinion anyway) to show who the hell you are, and/or what you think. Hard to do that without easily readable text on an abstract piece.
  12. Nope it aint pixelled. Brushed, I'd say with my old guide, but that would be trying to get to much 'credit' I suppose. And I think he does look like he's biting in the fire. You don't see his lower jaw really, just the upper teeth over the fire. The fire looks really messy, specially with those corners, kinda like he's blowing up a big balloon with a fire print on it. Sorry about the ranting, bad mood.
  13. Nice to see some change in the usual work on these boards. Clean colours, but the random details, like on the spider thing under the runeguy mess up with the otherwise nice collection of big shapes. It might not be real cubism or whatever, and he may fail art school, but those are really pointless comments. This is not art school, but an art section of a gamesite. Get real. Keep the experimenting up.

    Art?

Art can be anything, at any time, at any place. It can be gone in a second or stay for eternity. All you have to do is open your mind for it. The problem is that people disagree about tastes, but you know what they say about tastes... I told you you know what they say! Don't look at me like that! I'm not gonna say it!
  15. Hah, I like the idea behind it, though not to original and you sure as hell could have done more with it. All the 'controversy' around it is even better though. Hah, this topic scores a 7/10
  16. I have to agree with venomai; there's nothing that jumps out, it's far to busy (Not only with all the things happening, but also the immense color scheme) and it's really flat. Awesome detail though, and I love the gerbil.
  17. Nice idea, but I'm guessing cartoony faces don't fall under anatomy then?
  18. Why the long face? It's great, but the face is just so long.. But hey, I'm just nitpicking.
  19. Misterxman is always on that list, just because he massproduces things (Not saying he isn't good) Good people from 'the past' are easily forgotten, just because there mostly new people here.
  20. The nose is to long and the eyebrow is to straight, making it, in my eyes, a unwanted focus point. The blue shine on the lower left side of his face looks a bit extreme as highlights, since I don't think skin shines so much. The eyes are not done yet (I hope) since they're just plain blue and white now, same with the hair. Get working you slacker!
  21. Edward Scissorhands rocks :) But this is getting a little offtopic
  22. Phew.. Haven't found some time to guess yet.
