  1. I believe there's life out there. In what form i don't know, if it's plants, animals or bacteria. But i find it very illogical to see our planet as the only "living".
  2. From what I've read, the population is actually declining in some European countries. True. But uncontrolled immigration is not the answer for a declining population, as a few countries do. What the government in European countries should do, first and foremost, on that bit is to encourage people having kids. As it's now, in many western countries, people are choosing their career first and having kids are on the bottom on the "to do list", generally speaking. Altho i'm drifting a bit away from the topic here.
  3. I didn't watch the game, but i understand it was 2-1 after ht? What the hell happend in the second half? Villa shouldn't capitulate like that. 1 point for Everton today, was busy so couldn't watch it. Wolves has had a good run of games recently, so it shouldn't be too surprising, but i'd like to have seen 3 points. But a Europe place is still up for grabs. And i don't know what's up with West Ham. Blackburn should draw or win against Burnley tomorrow and Liverpool - Sunderland will be interesting, let's hope Darren Bent scores a couple.

I won't contribute much to the discussion, but i'm all pro abortion. It's her body, and if she wants to keep it or not, is up to her. However, i don't think it should be used as a "morning after solution". When it reaches that stage (mostly teens), they need to have proper education about birth control.
  6. Mage: I admit i was wrong. I would've guessed that more countries in Europe were like UK for example. But the public system is used by the vast majority in Europe still. I still wonder how you guys will afford it. I read the numbers of how much increase in tax it will be, and to me, it seems very little. What if people abuse it? Costs will rise if that happens on a large scale (and people do abuse it). If i take my experience from public hospital, it's crap. The service is ok i guess, but the waiting time is awful. I'm not saying that the U.S health system pre this reform was great, far from it, but at the same time, a majority of users on a public health system is far from great too. Tortilla: I hope this is the correct information from USA on asylum and grants: http://www.justice.gov/eoir/efoia/foiafreq.htm (2006) , as i don't think i'm allowed to link directly to a pdf file. And here is the number of granted asylum seekers in Sweden 2006: http://www.temaasyl.se/Templates/Page.aspx?id=92 (furthest down). Reason for 2006 is because that's the latest year i found info about my country after 15min searching, and since i'm not prepared to spend my entire Friday evening searching for granted asylum statistics that'll do. And if you people view the Republicans as extreme-right with a European eye, no wonder. You're called a racists/nazi for just criticizing the immigration politics here.
  7. I'm gonna go out on a wild guess and say that it was drawn in 1994 for the Chicago Tribune. That's just my guess, though. Could be wrong. Has to be earlier Stalin is pictured I believe he died in 55. I'm gonna say... late 40's early 50's. Wait at the bottom it say in really small either '34 or '84 my money is on '38 Also how about this violence over the bill? I believe its wrong but I'm not surprised, its what happens when words are ignored. Also I'm gonna be watching for someone to make a slip or just be ballsy enough to say that this just goes to show how all republicans are crazy and violent. All? Nice generalisation. Never underestimate the stupidity of people( and I mean ALL people). I'm saying this from a conservative standpoint. Remember when John Kerry made that slip/ mis-read about the troops and didn't apologize for like a week? That's the kind of thing i'm talking about. I'm not American so i don't know. I don't know if i've seen that footage, but then i've forgotten it.

  9. You know that you can, if you're willing to pay, get it? Atleast that's the case here in your neighbouring country. It's often an option available in the cities (i live in the country side).
  10. I assume you know that you've forgotten several countries that also has socialized healthcare?

First episode was pretty ok. This second one was boring, not good at all.

  13. I view this healthcare bill as socialism, yes. This is similar to the insurance we have here in my country, the law requires you to have it. You can choose private aswell, but you'll still have to pay the public one aswell. I'm not that of a far out right wing person, that i consider every taxation to be socialism no.
  14. Yes! Continuing to kick City butt!
  15. AMG GTFO socialism. I feel somewhat guilty for not giving any real comprehensive argument in this thread as of yet, but you're kidding right? Lol yes. I live in a somewhat wealthy town and it's just hilarious to listen to all the conservative kids complaining about how Obama is taking their (parents') money and nobody supports health care anyways. Why is it hilarious? Because the people in this guy's neighborhood are riled up about something they don't know anything about. If that's their definition of socialism, we've been socialist for over 100 years. Besides, effective tax rates show the wealthiest paying smaller percentages of their income than the middle class. I see. For starters, it's socialism. Secondly i wonder, if you've been socialists for 100 years, what's Europe? Socialists super style? (i tried to make a joke but it hasn't worked) I'm not American (nor do i live in the US) so my contribution to this debate maybe isn't too great.

  17. McAfee is better than nothing, but there are better alternatives out there. Personally i use Comodo firewall+Avira antivir (both free). No need to run daily scans unless you're visiting weird sites. I personally don't use those inbuilt programs, i disable/uninstall those that i don't like. I don't know what programs will follow your computer so i can't say which ones... You could buy a transfer cable... Costs like 20$.
  18. ^Nothing to do with the US healthcare, but your system in Norway is crap. The votes out in the country-side are worth more than those in the city. If the votes were equal, you would have the blue side governing.
  19. People online on my msn atm and so were they yesterday.
  20. That made my day. Thanks. Perhaps it's a bit different case if a person has two gay parents than one straight. I should try and look for some study where they compare how kids have faired in life, if there's any difference between gay and straight parents. It would be interesting to read, as long as it's neutral. Hopefully i might find some study, or perhaps it's a too controversial subject. I have my personal view on it, but it would be interesting to read a study...
  21. Say that when you start paying taxes. I don't take anyone's opinion on this issue as meaning anything more than a pile of [cabbage] if they don't pay taxes. You don't pay taxes, you aren't part of the system. And if you aren't part of the system you don't understand the concept of cost. Things may be prettier tomorrow, but that's just because the costs aren't tangible to you. Apart from a meager couple grand I've made, I don't pay taxes since I don't have a full-time job. And I sure as hell don't make enough to get shafted by this bill. Hmm? I am not talking about taxes in this one, I am talking about how US should pull their behind out of the middle east and focus more on the economy. Focus more themselves before trying to help out others. Which every western country should do, but doesn't. (the focus on themselves before others part)
  22. How are you guys going to afford it? I am not a fan of socialized healthcare. Which i guess i should be, since i come from the socialist country numbero uno in Europe (Sweden). God damn. Even if i want to get treatment at a private hospital, i still have to pay the health insurance and then on top of that the private health insurance.
  23. Your power supply isn't 80 plus certified, so it would be the best idea to get it, even though it has a lifetime warranty. 80 plus certified basically mean that you won't be able to get as much out of it, almost like you're buying a lower wattage supply, but only slightly lower. No. It means that the power supply is more energy efficient.

General advice is to: Don't drink too much, don't start fights and behave. But i don't know what experiences you wanna know? I've been out probably too many times for my brain-cells likening. Just be in a good mood and you won't have a pissy night. Also, if neither of your friends know where the toilet is, ask the bartender so you don't run around the club at 02.00 half drunk and in need of some relief. Not too fun to stand in long queues.
  25. I don't know what rock you're under where all the women you date aren't talkative/chatty. I don't think that rock exists. I think you're just too nervousy chatty and don't let people cut in. I don't think you appreciate a little silence. Nope. That's been my experience so far. Just take a conversation at the bar, where you don't have to be serious (unless you're aiming to snatch her)... I can't even remember the last time i had a decent conversation with a girl. Nothing of what you say is true lol... I'm not nervous when i'm talking to a girl. And i do let them talk... But christ, i mean... So few talk! And if you're going to reply "you've probably not many then"... My reply is, yes i have. Serious relationship/just chatting at the bar/friends... I've met quite alot.
