So, here's my list. Even tho i've been on TIF for almost 3 years now, i don't think i'm well known in the music section. I began listening to music when i was about 9-10. I still remember: I was home alone and went into my older brothers room and checked his cds and found this album called "Piece of Mind" with a weird cover but it looked cool, so i fired up the cd player and thought "what kind of crap is this?" and turned it off. Then later i listened to the cd again and thus the decadence began. I'll list numbers for ease, but nothing in particular order. Wrote this today a bit quickly, have been busy during the weekend. I could have easily picked several albums from the same band, but i felt that perhaps it's best not to. I've also left out quite alot, as i haven't had the time really. But i hope it gives you some idea. [spoiler=Ze list]1: Iron Maiden - Piece of mind First heard this album 12 years ago and had a different view on it back then. I am a huge Maiden fan, and this album is for me, their best. It doesn't have a single weak track and the sound is bloody great. One of my favorite all time songs is on this album: Flight of Icarus. 2: Opeth – Still Life Alot of other Opeth fans don't like this album (those that i've spoken to), but for me, this is my favorite. I don't really know why, but i just love it. One of the best sections of a song that i've ever heard is in Godhead's Lament, around 2.55 – 5.50. 3: Metallica – Ride The Lightning Never been a huge Metallica fan, but i like their older stuff. For me, Ride The lightning is the favorite. I don't know how many times Fade to Black has been on repeat. 4: Deep Purple – Perfect Strangers Perhaps it's a bit non-PC to say Perfect Strangers instead of Machine Head or Fireball. Atleast at the moment, this is my favorite Deep Purple album. 5: Borknagar – Quintessence Compared to some other Norwegian metal bands, Borknagar aren't as well known as some. But if you're into this, go and grab a copy and listen. Vortex' voice is amazing on this album, shame he couldn't continue with Borknagar. Colossus, amazing track. 6: Type O Negative – Bloody Kisses Now we're into some happy tunes! This album is just amazing. Christian Woman, easily one of my all time favorite tracks. 7: Pain – Nothing Remains The Same I love this album. Pain has evolved much more on this album. If you haven't seen the video to Shut Your Mouth – do, it includes 3% milk! 8: Satyricon - Nemesis Divina One of the best black metal albums to come out during the 90's in my opinion. The sound is excellent and there's not a single weak song on it. Haven't listned to it for a while, but the albums that have come after Volcano has been crap in my opinion. 9: Nirvana - Unplugged in New York I hope no one shoots me for posting something that had to do with MTV. I absolutely love the acoustic versions of their songs. The songs evolve and become something much more deeper. 10: Kotiteollisuus – 7 Now, i'm not Finnish, i'm their neighbour. But i've asked some people that know Finnish so i can atleast get a sense of what they are singing about. Almost every song on this album is instantly catchy, i can't tell how many times i've put this album on repeat. It doesn't contain my favorite track from them, but overall result of this album is amazing. 11: Warlock - Triumph and Agony I had a problem choosing this or the Burning the Witches album. Chose this since in my opinion, it is a more full album. All We Are, I Rule The Ruins, Für Immer... Really fantastic songs. She was damn hot in the 80's. 12: Vintersorg – Till Fjälls I haven't played this album for a couple of years, so i can't really remember all the songs. 13: Lisa Miskovsky – Fallingwater Ahh, i love this album. It's very easy to listen to, and you don't really notice that x amount of time has gone. I often put on one of her albums when i'm cooking, hehe. 14: Rammstein – Reise, Reise My german friend prefers Herzeleid and Sehnsucht to the newer stuff. But i'm one of those who caught Rammstein on the hook when Mutter was released. Reise, Reise, Moskau and Ohne Dich are my favorites. Ohne Dich is very different to other Rammstein songs, the feeling of it is very special. 15: Black Sun Empire – Driving Insane I usually don't like this type of d'n'b, but it was heavily used this summer... On various occasions. Anyone playing EVE Online might know Arrakis. 16: Amon Amarth – Versus the World I haven't listened to Alcoholics Anonymous for a long time, just since Fate of Norns was released. But i've become a fan of this band, even got some stuff signed heh. Versus the World, is as americans say, awesome. Where Silent Gods Stand Guard, epic. 17: Moby – Play I love this album. Listened to it countless times. Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad, Everloving... I don't really know how to put those tracks in to words but they are magic. 18: Mazzy Star – So Tonight That I Might See I only discovered this band this summer, when re-watching the whole Sopranos series. Look on Down From the Bridge (Among My Swan) featured in the end credits in an episode and i was just amazed when i heard a minute of that song. I don't know much about this band, but i really do like this album. 19: Travis – The Invisible Band I remember hearing Sing on the radio when it was released a few years ago and rushed to buy this album. I've got their other albums aswell, but this is still the one that i hold the highest. 20: Edguy – Hellfire Club I'm not much of a power metal fan. But i'm an Edguy listener. I haven't heard their earlier albums (i will when the economy allows). Their albums after this has been ok, but nothing major. 21: Darkthrone – Under a Funeral Moon This was the first black metal album i ever bought. I suppose it's one of those "classic" black metal albums you got to have. 22: Enslaved – Isa I've played this album the last few days now (it's been resting for some months) and it's bloody great. This and Blodhemn is my favorite albums with the sheep stealers. 23: Bathory – Blood Fire Death This album is amazing. Anyone who is into black metal should own this cd. A Fine Day to Die and Blood Fire Death are my two favorites on this album. It was difficult to choose this or Hammerheart. 24: Helheim - The Journeys and the Experiences of Death Fantastic piece of music. Not a really well known band, but good stuff. A bit difficult to get into this album at first, but then it grows. Oaken Dragons, fantastic track. 25: Hypocrisy – The Arrival Haven't heard their latest album yet, but gonna get it if i can afford it. I've been listening to The Final Chapter too much, so i'm a bit overloaded with it. The whole album is just great, The Departure is one of my favorite tracks of Hypocrisy. 26: Pendulum – Hold Your Colour I've heard In Silico, it had it's moments but their first one is just awesome. Been playing it almost always before going out to party, god damn great starter. 27: The No. 1 Drum and Bass Album A 4cd collection with different d'n'b tracks. I usually find that there's always a dozen crap tracks on d'n'b albums but on this, except for a couple it is spot free. 28: Doro – Fear No Evil Choosing her latest album maybe sounds strange, but i absolute love it. When i got it at release week this year, i didn't know what to expect. But i was blown away. One thing i noticed, Long Lost For Love, sounds very similar to the theme of the Titanic movie. 29: Eddie Meduza – "Mix" A random mix of his songs on a burned cd. It is perfect for getting drunk. 30: Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here I'm not a big Pink Floyd fan, but i listen to them from time to time. They've got a big piece of music history, that i some day will read upon.
