    1. What are a few samples of common dinner assortments in the UK? What type of foods are most often consumed where you live? Dinner is generally (for the working man) all about ease/cost. So grabbing a quick lunch from a cafe/shop such as Cooplands is popular where I live. 2. What is the average cost of a flat/apartment to rent a month/week/day? In London, compare it to living somewhere like Manhatton. It's [bleep]ing expensive compared to the rest of the UK. Most people are forced to commute from 20-30 miles outside of London. 3. What are some things that stereotypical Americans should be aware of (item names, slang, etc) that are different from the United States? There's so many to cover, your best bet is to speak to plenty of British people before going and pick things up here and there. 4. What are some good television shows? Completely depends. On gender, age, tastes etc. You will also find that many British people watch A LOT of American TV. 5. What are the best internet options? Virgin. From experience both BT and the cheaper options such as Tiscalli are [cabbage]. You are much better off paying a little more from home broadband and haveing a quality service. I can't really comment on mobile broadband such as dongles since I wont have tried one until September. As for mobile phones internet, 3G is much faster than I expected. With a good network such as o2, it's worth paying a bit more for a phone. 6. How expensive is it to travel on a daily basis? In London, not much. Use the tube and you'll get good rates if you use it often. Otherwise, use the buses and try to avoid running a car in London. Anywhere else I would say cycle or car, but not in London. :P 7. Reccomended sectors of London/surrounding areas to live? There are some fantastic areas such as Camden which are considered to be quite rough, but the things you will see will really open your eyes and I think for a young aspiring man, it's a good move. 8. How large are flats? How long is a piece of string? 9. Is there Mountain Dew in London? Yes. 10. Any suggestions/comments/input/advice from yourself. I'm 20, studying in the UK, living in the north but looking at doing the opposite to you (working in the US) so anything you can advise me on would be great, I'm doing a 6-9 month placement year with my degree but have to look for a placement myself. (Web design related). I could do it in London but I'd like to set my sights higher. Anyway back to you, just be inquisitive, don't be afraid to ask questions and don't be afraid to make friends. For many people it will be a novelty to have a foreign friend living with them so take advantage of this. If possible arrange to meet up with a few Tip.It'ers once you arrive to go for a pint or a bite to eat. It will help, let them show you around and introduce you their lifestyle. More than anything else, this will depend on you and what you make of it, you have a fantastic oppertunity, one that I'm envious of and struggling to obtain for myself. Give it your best shot and I hope you have a fantastic time :D
  4. I tried Range with Ruby (e) to begin with and failed 10+ times, wasting lots of cash. I tried BGS and did it first time.. Get it a shot if you keep failing, might work for you too :)
  5. Good luck! :) I'm also a student from te UK. I defeated Nomad using BGS. What method have you been using?
  6. What's really depressing is that will only get you to 89 herb... Already had 5k supplies banked, cheers.
  7. oh no... you didn't really do serums/pray pots till 70, wait... 75, oh my god... Not 84. You didn't do that. that is so crazy, oh and you're going to have one less space in your bank with all those... they don't stack so you can drop them. :ohnoes: yeah.. i have a stack of 42,910 serum 207's now OMFG you made almost 43 thousand potions for 84 herb...I woulda killed my self. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: I've just bought supplies for 90,000 Serum 207's. Goodbye life. Goodbye 60m.
  8. Went on for a bit of Slayer yesterday. Noticed how close I was to a Farming level so inspected a Pinapple tree on the way :D Dustie task next but probably wont be on for a couple of days as I have no computer desk. It decided to cave-in last night... Working 6-7 Days a week now, 8 - 12 hour shifts so I have very little time on my hands, but lots to do ready for uni and for my web portfolio. I will nip on Tip.It/RS maybe once a week but that's about it. If I get more free time in the future I'll be on more regularly! Peace x
  9. Grats on 99 Smithing nub, sorry I couldn't be there. Go get 99 Mining pl0x? ta.
  10. Fantastic pictures, Sam is right for sure. I like them :)
  11. How so? Also, interesting about Woox..
  12. Look nice :) Is it difficult to obtain? I've never been.
  13. Thanks man :^_^: Also, should be working towards getting ancient curses... 5 or so quests left to go :)
  14. Grats man, lovely level to have! :)
  15. This isn't the end of the world, although I can see how frustrating it must be for you. The way I see it there are several options; 1. Assuming you don't already have a main, this may be an oppertunity to develop the player like many others out there with no limits, train defence like you would any other skill and aim to become a master of all skills. 2. Assuming you do have a main, and developed this player merely to become a pure, you could just start again. If it's a 1 defence pure you want, then it should take you too long to start again but just ensure your pc is safe, and your player is secure. 3. Take this oppertunity to develop the player into something you might not have previously considered, such as Boris said a Zerker pure, or as something a bit different like an Agile pure or Mitril pure. Failing that, you could train as a main and leave defence lower than the other combat stats, much like a Barrows pure once maxed. Ie, 99 99 70, 99 95 99. Whatever you decide to do, good luck! :)
  16. well done nub ^^ close to cape! what are curses like?
  17. Yeap! killed Nomad the night before coming home from uni for the summer. I wont be on much for the next few months, maybe a couple of hours a week for Dungeoneering.. I'm working full-time and organising my next year at uni, my industry placement the following year, and building my web portfolio. On top of this I've taken running and football back up :)
  18. I trained all the way to 99 by catching Red Chins. Hpwever this was before the Herblore Habitat update, and before Red Chins were swarmed with bots. It is still an effective training method none-the-less :)
  19. Duo = Karils both Solo = Karils top, Tassets I think.
  20. There is a lot to be said for Dungeoneering. The rewards are great. I hated the skill with a passion til I got to about level 55-60, then I loved it. Went from 60 - 80 in just a few days and got my Chaotic Rapier. I do reccommend you look into it first, read some guides and try things out. If you really don't like it still, go to 117 'cause you'll [bleep]ing hate it then either way! :)
  21. Camping where? I use Ruby (e) I tried using the pillars to avoid specs but it never works. Set up: Helm of Neit Fury Karils top Arma plateskirt DFS Rune Cbow Ava's Accu D boots Archers ring Barrows gloves War tort full with brews 2 - 3 range pots 9 - 10 sup rests rest brews in inv Ruby bolts (e) just tried it a mina ago and got Nomad right down to 1/10 HP after healing and after berserker stage, but my bots weren't hitting and didn't get a ruby (e) spec :(
