If I had to guess...transformers I am more inclined towards the theory proposed on RSOF that it all goes towards GTA + Pizza + Booze -- that'd also explain all the delays and lack of updates. ;)

Some closure on Nomad would be nice. I am totally excited for the next few weeks. One of a Kind, Mahjarrat Memories, and Fate of the Gods. Possibly may be the best month in years.

7-Jan-2014 - Player-Owned Ports - The Next Journey
Failed Exiled mission twice. Failed quite a few missions, though no Azure penalties yet. Kind of an annoying region, though the Azure rewards are very generous.

Congratz! Not enslaving myself to Livid is what I said, and I fought it for about 7 months after Comping; but I eventually gave in.

The dark art effects make it look harsh like the Freneskae homeworld, but then I saw it again and it was definitely similar to the chamber. As for being modeled after Fresneskae, that's a possibility, but, I don't think Nex has been to the Fesneskae homeworld, has she? Her origins are cloudy, I thought. We know that Nex is trapped in some sort of abandoned Saraominist temple (prior to the God Wars); so she/her mages probably modeled the chamber.

Looks like Freneskae homeworld or however you spell it. Nevermind. Just took another look. The resemblance to the Nex Chamber is unmistakable. I think it IS the Nex Chamber, maybe we have to go there for part of the quest. They might just be arbitrarily doing it, I suppose. In theory, skills are one of the basic building blocks of RS; so it'd make sense if you want exclusive things that you be proficient in them. As for specific requirements, I suppose they could always make them more naturally fitting in the quests. (The task sets usually do this well).

Thanks. That makes sense, as I will be pursuing something similar as well.

What's the ideal Shield crew again? 6/6/6/4/3 - SCM/Merchant/Exile?

The bigoted response I was waiting for. Not everyone has the time to play it Efficiency-scape style. Some of us are only on 1-2 hours max a day, if that. Yes, some quests should have a fair hit of requirements, such as ROTM (which I still think the mining one could have done without) but the point to quests is it's storyline and lore. If you're playing them SOLELY to unlock something, Then you'll never understand that. It has absolutely nothing to do with efficiency, and I explicitly said that quest requirements are easy even if you play moderately. Most quest requirements are what?Level 70's, or 80's, at the highest? It is an objective fact that you can get that fairly quickly. Even if you're a poor player or don't have much time, there are plenty of alternatives (like D & D's, free spins, challenges, bonus experience) that make it relatively easy. For the high-end part of the quests a requirement in the 70's is quite easy and fair. Still, you don't really need to inflate the requirements to tell a good story, and there are better ways to make a quest challenging than to slap a bunch of 80s-90s on the front of it. I'd honestly like to see them change the way they sort quests. Going purely by raw levels is outdated when so many lore/plot-heavy quests have minimal requirements and when so many recent GM quests have been a complete joke in terms of content. I don't consider requirements in the 70's to be inflationary (keep in mind that level 70 is a very small amount of the experience, in relation to 99). No one (at least not me), is really asking for higher requirements; keep them in the 70's -- fine by me. Quests need requirements; that's part of the internal logic of the game. However, by keeping them in the 70's, they are easy enough that anyone who wants to participate can do so easily and not be excluded.

The requirements for skills are so ridiculously easy that it hardly even matters. This isn't 2009 anymore. Most of the skill requirements for even the hardest quests -- they could be obtained fairly quickly even if you play moderately. As for quests, they should be holistic and represent the different aspects of the game, and that includes skills. Even from an in-game perspective, it makes sense that you'd need a certain level of proficiency to do certain things/feats in quests.

Just made it Shield. Was able to get some Azure missions, get a 35K captain and roll some crew. How should the Shield Captains look like? 2x Morale, 2x Combat, and 1x Seafaring?

Behind the Scenes - March 2014
No we didn't. One of a Kind was set for the week of 24th of Feb they then announced it was delayed by TWO weeks. People madly speculating it would be out this week were plain deluded, there was no evidence posted by any jmods to suggest it would be out this week. The announcement of it being delayed by two weeks took it from the week of 24th feb to the week of 10th of march. This week is only 1 week later. Not to mention at the end of last fridays bts video they clearly said One of a Kind bts was next weeks video (aka due out on the 7th placing the update in week of 10th). The whole One of a Kind being out this week thing was an utter myth entirely contradicted by every solid source of data we have. Except, Mod Pips announced the delay on the 18th of February (Tuesday). That is, a week before the initially expected date (sometime during the week of 24th). Odd that they announced a delay when they had a whole week left (must have been a large setback). He said two weeks, but was purposefully vague as to whether it would be two weeks from his post or two weeks from the initial date. And the BTS video was also vague, it didn't explicitly say "we will be back week to talk about OOK", it explicitly said "next week we start off our quest filled month with out latest quest". Note! It didn't say next week we will be talking about it, or that it will be the topic of the BTS, it said, "next week, we kick off our quest filled month with our latest grandmaster quest coming to Gelinor, One of a Kind". So, no, it wasn't clear at all. They were purposefully vague. You're grasping at straws, and the case you make for Jagex is rather weak. There was no mythology or delusion on the part of the players, just expectations that Jagex failed to meet yet again.

Predictably, the One of a Kind quest is not going to be released this week, but rather next week.

Yeah I stopped doing trade good missions once I hit the Loop to prevent desynching, to stock up on Terracotta, and what not. Now I am 96% to the Shield and I have everything from the Loop, so if I get trade goods, I do them. Once I hit the Shield I will do the same, I will get all the stuff, and once I do, resume Trade Goods then.

Getting ready for that comeback. But there's been no BTS for it. They hinted that next week's BTS might be the quest. So I am not sure. They showed a few concept arts, but that's it.

So Zaros' return will be unique to each player and not a global result? Interesting to see how this will affect future quest development. It is effectively global. The number of people who won't bring him back is approximately zero. He's that cool.

What makes you think the metagame is a recent phenomenon? It's been here for a few years. As for Castle Wars, it was still lively just a few years ago. Barraging was always a part of the fun of Castle Wars -- I don't see how that contributed to its decline. Ancient Magiks were always very popular to use there. The same applies to games like Fight Pits, which had at least 2 or so active worlds just a few years ago.

Not true. People usually tend to boost when some reward they want is ridiculously hard to get, like Profound Armour or Hybrid sets. But how do you make something sufficiently rewarding and yet easy enough to get so it won't be boosted? It's the easiest thing in the world to do. Don't make it require hundreds of hours like Profound armour or Hybrid armour. Not hard to do. Then you get a dead minigame No you don't. Castle Wars is dead because of the experience crazed metagame. Not because of a lack of rewards. It was a lively and extremely (one of the most popular things ever in RS history) popular thing to do for several years, and I can assure you, the vast majority of people did not go into it for rewards.

Runescape endgame, lol. idk why ppl moan about rs endgame. Yeah, why do people actually have a view on the very nature of the game and sort of the game we would like to have and the sort of gameplay we would like to encourage, in order to have a fun, exciting, and healthy community? So silly. Oh wait...

200M in all Skills
99% of the world can't do, or won't do that, for a variety of perfectly understandable reasons, perhaps because they might not have computer access, or Internet access, or they might actually have all sorts of obligations, such as school, work, a family life, friends, social or extra-circular activities, productive or admirable leisure activities, better priorities, a regard for their health, and so on. At 19 hours a day, all that leaves time for is about 5 hours of sleep. It's not nearly as rosy as you make it sound.

Well, then, I guess RS Wikia was completely wrong. Didn't see that coming. I know it's not the most accurate source, but usually there's a mistake or two, not several. :-D
