  1. Waking up around 6:45 in the morning, I've noticed how beautiful the sky has been. Decided to try to get some pictures. I took most of these right from my bedroom window, rather than walking around and finding a good view, which explains the houses some of the pictures. I just liked the way the mountains are all black, and you can see the colorful sky behind them. Pretty smooth. A similar photo to the last, but this has some nice clouds in it, looks great. I am honestly amazed at this photo. I can't get over how colorful it is, and was this morning, just amazing. This picture isn't all that good, but kind of a neat phenomena. That rainbow thing on the clouds is a reflection off of Lake Tahoe, which is just over the mountain. I'm confused as to why the photo is so dark, because I was having trouble keeping the camera from being oversaturated with sunlight. If the photos are low quality, you can imagine how much better it looked this morning. I just stared for a few minutes, was almost late to school. EDIT: I'm using a 5.0 Megapixels Kodak DX4530, running at the standard speed.
  2. I'd happily pay for it though :). Froth, you really need MSN man...
  3. I was thinking of something a bit more on the grungy side, but to have an abstract feeling to it. Also, I'd like the text to blend with the image, but be completely readable if you understand what I mean.
  4. I like the mountains, and the character, but they don't go together as of now. Since it's a WIP I won't ding you too much on it, but I like it. Again, the only thing that could make it better is if the mountains had the same opacity throughout, or at least done on a gradient. :)

  6. Kiephus, I'll do a collab with you, you know how to get ahold of me... Thanks Athena for posting it, I've still got all of the pieces but mysteriously the puzzle isn't there.
  7. I was one of the people who put the last one together, and I don't think I still have it. If I do, I'll post it. Anywho, put me down for 8 please.
  8. Look at the dtickies on thop of this board, or one of at least 30+ posts already answered and locked on this subject. MSPaint.
  9. My guess is the lack of energy. The detail is incredible, but not much going on. In other sigs, you can kind of feel like something's actually going on, but here it reminds me of a statue. Still amazing though. You're getting better :).
  10. That stone is amazing, must have taken ages. I hope your problems have been dealt with. Hope my sig request is doable, I've got the cash with your name on it waiting for you :).
  11. Sorry, don't like it. First of all, no Terragens are all that excellent. If done right, however, they can provide a level of realism that others can't. Yours is one of those without that realism factor. First off, that black dot. I don't really care about it, but it's just there. Next, the water doesn't look nice. It shouldn't have so many uniform ripples. The biggest peeve I've got, is the texture on the land is horrible. In the parts that you can see, it's just kind of a grey/white texture, not all that good. The sunlight/sky isn't the worst, but needs improvement. Think about it. In your image, the sun is clearly shown, not obstructed by any mountains. With no fog or any other obstructions, the whole scene should be a whole lot brighter. If you put the mountains over the sun a bit, making it so that only the last bit of light is coming out, then I could understand why the scene is so dark. The clouds are pretty good, and non-offensive. They could however be a bit more defined, since afterall that's what you were experimenting with in the first place. Last, don't know if you care at all, but if you plan on using as a long-term desktop, it should have a bit of finishing in Photoshop or something. :) EDIT: If you are short on time, don't do a poor job and do it fast. Do a good job, complete it over a couple of days if need be, and it will look better.
  12. Azvi, I'd love to pay you so that I can use that great sig, but since you're in Sweden, and I'm in West Coast, USA, there's quite a time difference. That means the only time we can meet (unless you get on late at night/early in the morning, or vice verse), is on weekends. I'm here now, and if you can give me a username I'll log on for payment. Thanks.
  13. By saying we feel it's crap I am giving him constructive criticism, and telling him not to post junk like that, because if you've got no confidence in yourself (in anything) then you can't expect others to be confident in you.
  14. Don't post crap, it's just as bad as spam. If you feel it's crap, so do we. Who wants to look at crap?
  15. Oooh, vectors. I bet you could make some nice vector sigs. I'd be interested in being your first experiment. :)
  16. If you think it sucks, so does the community. You can't expect others to like it if you have no confidence in it. I recommend not posting things like this and practicing more, and actually do shading. I understand you can't do it, but just practice it.
  17. I guess everyone has their opinion of what a good sig is. I guess entangle's opinion is that all sigs suck except for a few, and I'm guessing that those few are his own. I hope your taste in women isn't as strict as your taste in sigs. Realize that if you can't get the best, go for less. IF there aren't any good sig makers on these boards (at least you've shown no interest in any) then you're going to have to accept that you're the best, or that everyone sucks. But that's the Media Board community, a group of mediocre sig makers according to your specifications. Another word of advice. If you're going to even bother posting, let it be C&C. That's what most people want. Don't just say you don't like it. Nad and Ryan, sorry your post is going sour because of a single person who dislikes them.
  18. Photoshop is the only one I'm aware of. Oh, and your sig is a bit large. Read the stickies at the top of this board for correct sizes.
  19. Make me a lanscape Nad :P. Those are some nice sigs you've got there, you're missing some though :) .
  20. Thanks again everyone... If you're truely interested in purchasing it, I'd be happy to do so if the price is right. PM me if you're interested. Along those lines, I'd be happy to sell any of the pictures posted, but downsized and changed to your specifications if you wish. Just contact me somehow. Another possibility is requests, if you have a picture in mind and I can take it (the latter being the key), I'd be happy to make it for you. Just PM me details if you want.
  21. See, told you it would be similar :P. Don't know if you like the text or not, but of course they can be changed.
  22. I'd enter but I think mine would be the same style as Nad's. Maybe if I can think of something I'll do it, or just go along with that same style. Then you can choose what's best :).
  23. Just a word of advice. Post examples. Would you commit to buying a car without ever seeing a model of that car? Maybe, but chances are slim. So post some of your work and maybe people will say that they want one. Besides, all that will happen is someone will request that one be made, and you'll make it, and it will serve as an example. May as well get a head start.
  24. Thanks everyone for the good responses. It's interesting to see how everyone has a favorite, and many of them are pretty different. I have to say my least favorite is the one of the beach scene (not the palm tree one ;)), and my favorite is the picture of Tahoe. My camera at 5.0 megapixels is definately not of professional grade (the higher the better), but it is high enough quality for what the family uses it for. I've just taken it to the next level by doing kind of artsy pictures rather than pictures of babies or the family, which I hate getting involved in :). The misty effect is because my camera over-reacts to the brightness in the sky and adds it in. In some cases it's nice, in others it just ruins the photograph completely. There are a few things I wish the camera could do. One is take night pictures (in other words have the shutter stay open for a few seconds, rather than a thousandth of a second). This lets in more light giving vivid pictures at the night. I'll work on those with this one though. The other thing I wish it could do is give more color. The reason some of the pictures I posted are so colorful is because I adjusted the levels, giving vivid colors, and I can't even imagine what they would be if I had a better camera. I visited an art gallery in Tahoe with a photographer who did the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen, and he said he takes the pictures in film, but in order to "digitize them" he puts them through a process that mimics a 200 megapixel camera. You can imagine the excellent quality and color that the pictures give. Not only that, they are the size of a large wall. Unfortunately the best are valued at over $6,000, hardly something I'm willing to pay. I figured at that point it was time to learn by my self to do something like that. And so it began...
