  1. I wasn't that excited to hear that The Chemical Brothers were doing new stuff, considering their last effort ended up missing the mark for me. The second we hit the drop I remembered why The Chemical Brothers were at one point, one of my all-time favourite bands. I'm excited for new material yet again. Video takes me back to the time I saw them live (First concert) and was blown away by their visuals.
  2. As an Australian, I can say that there are much hotter chicks than these pair. [hide][/hide]
  3. 'killed' I just started it too, haha. I've only fought him once and snapped his neck, but I'm like 1000% sure he's coming back. And if another fight is what you're referencing, carry on. I'm struggling to recreate the BOY of Kratos when I've been saying the BOAH of Arthur from cowboy shooty for so long.
  4. I honestly can't think of a worse cover than Disturbed's Sound of Silence. I already don't like the song all that much, and Disturbed do not do slow and sad well at all. My boys Dog Fashion Disco are at it again. Vertigo Motel was one of the first tracks of theirs that I fell in love with. My sister got a whole bunch of random songs from one of our cousins like ten years ago and thought I might like them. Turned out I loved them and so I spiraled into a downloading spree of Dog Fashion Disco and any related bands. I worked out that they're re-recording all their old stuff that they did on their old label so it's theirs again. After this one, there are two more, and they're two of the best. Getting really, really excited for the Adultery re-record, definitely their best album.
  5. Two artists I used to really enjoy, but all but forgotten about, and they come back with this. I think I like it better with the video, 'cause I don't go much on the song. I do, however, go much on this song and video.
  6. Nah. Confidence Man is still AOTY, with a very close runner-up in John Butler Trio. On that note, wow, my top three albums this year (Jack Ladder probably third) are all Aussie acts. Yay us! It's been pretty quiet on the music front for me recently, but I recently realised that Flock of Seagulls did another absolute banger back in the day.
  7. Gonna be one of my picks for song of the year, I think. Straight banger of a track. Album pretty solid, but I don't see myself coming back to much else of it, besides The Chase and Mansa Musa.
  8. Right, so, I bought into the Daughters hype finally after Fantano gave it a 10, and I have to agree it didn't live up to the hype, which was a shame. Still a good album, and I'll come back to it and their catalogue a bit I reckon, but yeah. And I just downloaded Muse's new album too. They were one of the first bands I ever got into, just before they released Resistance. So I get nostalgic and love everything pre-Resistance. Resistance was very hit and miss for me, and my mates really hated it, and seeing as I was 15 and just becoming mates with them, that meant I hated it too. I come back to it now, though, and while it's not as good as Absolution or Origin (My two faves of the faves), it's still pretty good. 2nd Law was pretty forgettable, and I defended Drones against those same mates, who still don't like Muse because of Resistance. If they got rid of the interlude tracks and trimmed Drones down, it would have been fantastic. Coming in to the end of the year, It's nearly time to pick my AOTY. I feel like JBT have been making quite the push for that honour. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click .
  9. I didn't go much on the new album, sadly. I'll give it a few more spins and see how I feel. My mates are going to see them when they come to Australia and I'm giving it a miss. Mostly due to logistics, but partially because I don't like them near as much as I used to. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click . My boys Dog Fashion Disco are going through re-recording and re-releasing their earlier works and they're definitely the best way to experience these albums. Excited too, because in looking for this link I saw they're doing the next reasonably quickly. Not sure how far they'll take it, considering the next out was only released in 2001. After this I'd probably just like new material instead? I'm not sure.

What about all the butchers? Am I right guys? Guys?

    Today...

I got to the hunting tutorial in cowboy shooty and I'm not good at it so I don't like it.

I hope so, otherwise I'll look pretty silly.

I've played about an hour of cowboy shooty. All I have to say is that I like the menus, HUDs and snow, because I haven't seen much else. That sounds like a go at the game, but it's not, I just love stuffing around in the options as soon as I can.
  14. Not really my scene, but I dig Lagwagon, Iron Chic and Torche, so, yeah. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click . Not actually listening yet because RDRII is updating and Aussie internet is terrible, so I haven't downloaded it yet, but Street Sects dropped their second album this week. Really rather abrasive, but I reckon it's fantastic.
  15. Have to push to page two. MOAR PICS. MOAR PICS. MOAR PICS.
  16. #KERR2016/17/18/19. Anything else is just plain wrong.

    Today...

One of our party is going away for a month, so rather than continue our campaign, our DM opened the chair to anyone who'd like a go at DMing a one-off or a small campaign in the interim. I hesitantly accepted an offer, seeing I've never DMed before and I start to lose energy about the two/three hour mark when playing, so I bet I'll run out quicker when I'm DM.
  18. I miss a lot in my little bubble I live in these days. I don't go on Reddit any more, so my big source of real life/music/game/tv/movie knowledge has been severed. I go to work and my boss is like 'Did you hear about-' and I'll be like, no, no I didn't. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click . I saw this album was upcoming, and I really, really love the album art, so I downloaded the band. I'll listen to this album soon, then see how I like the rest.

    Today...

I wish more bands would come to Australia. And then I'd wish they'd come out bush, I don't want to go to the city. I am going to Download Festival next year, though. Mostly to see Ghost and Judas Priest, so I'm pretty hyped for that. As for missing chances, the only one I'm truly sad I missed was Lemmy. Would have loved to see Motorhead.
  20. What a journey. There's nothing in your post, so to get to your song I had to quote your post, which surprisingly showed me the link, then I followed the link, but the link was unavailable, so I had to google it, but we got there in the end. A bit too soft rock for me, but not something I turned off. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click . My latest find is Riverside. I'd never heard of them until I saw they'd released an album, and I was like hey, I used to work at a place called Riverside, so I'm going to download them all, then I listened to this album and it was great. Reminds me a little of Porcupine Tree, so it was good from the get go.
  21. I live for Miss Hottie. You can count on my vote.
  22. EDIT: None of these videos play in the tags for me, gonna have to follow links, boiz. I'm still here. Watching. Waiting. I just got bored of this game when I became number one poster and links stopped working so easy. Would have been a really great year to be posting, too, because I set myself the goal of listening to every single 2018 album I illegally download. I've been cataloging them, so I'll dump my top five picks for AOTY contenders. As for ELO, they're such a 50-50 band for me, some absolute bangers, and some hot garbage. On the whole I think I respect them. I'd probably back Mr. Blue Sky over Sweet Talkin' Woman as track of the album, but Evil Woman is best ELO song. So have I said it, so shall it be. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. Confidence Man, still fantastic, still leading the way for AOTY. Consistent bangers. Anthony Fantano had this guy in his YUNO Review one month and it piqued my interest, then I found one of my favourite albums of the year. Diving into his back catalogue, there's some more upbeat fun stuff, which is just as good. Also 2/2 Aussie artists, which surprises me, normally we're pretty terrible at music comparatively. Also helped me find Alex Cameron, who, although he hasn't dropped anything this year, released a beauty of an album last year which passed me by, and now I think is the best thing. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. And here's a bonus Alex Cameron, 'cause it's probably my favourite song that I've heard this year. And he's a total dreamboat <3 xoxox Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. I keep up with releases on AOTY, a site, and the album cover of this stayed on the frontpage for months, so I caved and downloaded them, and fell in love. Then I finally saw T2 Trainspotting, and they have heaps of their older tracks in that, and it was fantastic. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. Ghost's Prequelle is everything I hoped it to be, and this track is peak Ghost. If all goes to plan I'll see them next year, and I can't wait. Also on a side note I saw QOTSA recently and it was fantastic. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. I've never bought an album quicker than this. Heard the two teaser tracks, then went straight to the site and preordered the biggest bundle. An excellent impulse buy, 'cause this is fantastic. More people need to listen to Turbowolf.
