  1. I'm just happy that, as The World Guardian, I finally get my super suit. That said, about the superhero cape... [ insert obligatory Edna Mole "No Capes" GIF here]
  2. I'm still not sure what the ideal endgame totem setup ought to be. Right now I just have two telescopes and a Jade dragon.
  3. I think that's just artwork for the spawn points for each faction.
  4. What exactly are the NIS and HTML5 updates that were supposed to be bundled into the Loyalty Store update? Any confirmed changes or is it a wait-and-read-the-patch-notes sort of thing?
  5. If I get to claim "Lumbridge has become the Detroit of Gielinor" I'm not sure if I would laugh or wince.
  6. Enriched energy from normal springs is not a glitch. You are supposed to receive some of them from regular springs as you level within each tier, with the amount increasing as you level within them. Edit: Just wanted to add that this thread is a good idea. I'll try and contribute!
  7. The Reddit AMA with Mod Hew and Mod Ana, the leads on the skill, seemed to suggest room deliberately made for future minigames, events, and so forth. Unfortunately, the problem is that by tuning a game to give players something we want (a skill we can't just power our way through in less than a day of playing) we have the drawback (it can feel excruciatingly slow). We have the excitement of the new skill, but since we know it's complement isn't slated till late 2013/early 2014 and coupled with no news on Divination-related updates, it puts us in a "Oh Guthix, is this how I have to train till 99" situation. Personally, I think the resemblance to Mining/Fishing/Woodcutting/Runespan Runecrafting is so strong that variety isn't something I care about. What's probably more concerning is the presentation. How things look and feel. Mod Ana and Hew mentioned that the wisps/springs were deliberately kept this colour and then given small cosmetic changes because it'd avoid clashing with the environment, affecting colorblind players, and so forth. But if you look at all the ways Fishing/Woodcutting/Mining/Runecrafting have managed to play around with the shape and colour-palettes of their resources and how they fit into their local environments, I feel a little bit more skeptical. For one, the Energy Rifts all look identical and every time I visit the Battle of Lumbridge it just looks like they supersized the rift and placed it in the center (or vice versa). I don't really want to expand on this too much as it's going a bit long but I'm at level 76 Divination - the feeling that the wisps and rifts were just "dropped in" is a bit much. Why not have the wisps or the rift starting to "warp" the environment around them? Show a little damage? Perhaps the wisps and rift are influenced by the environment as much as they damage it - I mean it's Morytania (the zone I'm currently in) for Guthix's sake. So in short, I quite like the balance of the skill - it takes time and I understand the rationale for the time. The downside is that excitement over presentation and the "experience" of transitioning to new tiers and training the skill gets dull rather quickly. Edit: Added some formatting for emphasis.
  8. HOLY [bleep]ING SHIT!! IT'S HAPPENING!!! No, but really, it would be pretty damn amazing if Zezima was first to 99, or at least among the top 10. If only Zarfot had returned too. Would've been perfect. :< Only thinking about it gave me goosebumps. Yes.
  9. I don't think Divination was intended to be powerleveled except for those chasing rank and firsts. To do so with no clear goal or satisfaction derived from it will only lead to unwanted suffering. Hrm, that piece of advice sounded a bit too much like the Guthix epigrams
  10. Well... that depends on how interesting your life is, I suppose. I find it interesting that you find that interesting, anyway. Uh. No. Not really. For you perhaps. And myself too; I'm not playing RuneScape right now, but my experience of the game is that I essentially don't care about skillcapes (either mine or anyone else's). It's a clash of personalities, though. Some people find exploring the process of obtaining max xp/hr towards goal X absolutely fascinating. I'd rather blow my brains out. But there's no shortage of players grinding for skillcapes, that's for sure. I guess a lot depends on who you play with. My clan is very laid back and doesn't skill very aggressively or chase after capes. But many of my old friends have become those types and I get plenty of messages from them. I don't begrudge them for being excited or choosing to spend their time this way. In the same way, they don't look down on me for well, literally having hundreds of total levels less than them.
  11. Just hit 70 Divination earlier. The exp from 70-80 is about 1.25M At the rate of about 40-45K exp an hour the folks here have been averaging that means 28 hours of solid Divination before 80. I wonder how the attrition rate will compare with the weekend rush. This Tier is where the stretches between levels turn from an hour into hours. i.e. Things Get Interesting. Woo!
  12. And for balancing purposes, the World Guardian should have 99 in both. For balance!
  13. That wouldnt be too bad. I'm jealous. At Shilo, 50k/h would get me from 50-60 in roughly three hours...
  14. Hopefully a lot of the debate about the fun and usefulness of Divination will become clearer as the complementary skill news starts coming out. Artificing/Engineer/or Whatever it is could present interesting craftable choices. A pity it seems to be slated for early 2014. That said, the divination rewards do seem like they can have clever uses. I just haven't thought of any yet since I'm still busy leveling...
  15. Thanks for tip. Whan I can do with chronicle fragments (orange circles)? When you get 10 of them, you can deposit them either in Draynor, or at the Guthix shrine (teleport with your 6'th age circuit) I think you get more xp at the shrine, but don't quote me on that. You get some lore as well when depositing them - like small Guthix quotes. Yep, you do get more experience at the Shrine.
  16. Has there been any news on how we'll actually see the "consequences" of these decisions? Right now it's just seeing a few new NPC additions each week.
  17. I'm happy that so much of the early game experience is getting reworked. The Death of Chivalry was fun. At least on world 42, a surprisingly large amount of people are debating about what God to poke tentatively/follow. Hopefully with so much information, plus the new skill next week, that'll make the game much more interesting for new players.
  18. I wish they were clearer on when exactly the Battle of Lumbridge area would get "crowded" enough to trigger the instanced version. I was put into one earlier (while gathering tears in W42) and it was full of NPCs fighting. I imagine it'd be much much easier to get shards in those instances...
  19. I'm having trouble getting credit for the kills - each NPC is always tagged by the time I pummel them with spells and whatnot.
  20. Remember you can create tabbed interfaces (reminiscent of EOC/Old School) by simply dragging one UI interface on top of another. It's a great way to avoid the "pop-up" look on your overall interface. That said, I can't figure out how to reactivate my ability bar on my resizeable UI. The RS3 default to Custom UI fix isn't working...
  21. Just when you think Jagex's mainstream press coverage has started looking better, the Financial Times calls Jagex's flagship game "RuneQuest." :?
  22. I've given up on my ideal captain setup for now. Hopefully they'll release those higher tier captains...one day.
  23. I can definitely see the Faction alignment as either being the major precursor to or the actual new skill itself. For one, I don't think they'll announce the new skill in the BTS, they'd probably just drop it on us and yell, "surprise!"
  24. Gold members should be in all Betas for 2013, and in this case, their Alpha probably means Beta.
