"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
[...] I'm basically rubbing my [bleep] on the girls ass,[...] doesn't accomplish anything other then making me horny and giving me a workout. [...] yeah.... Not sure what you don't like about it. I hate the music most people grind to, but finding a girl with the right stature for you with a song you can actually feel makes dancing a wonderful experience. My ex and I loved dancing because of our chemistry and compatibility. I mean...obviously the relationship wasn't great for those who know my story, but the dancing was awesome. And because of my dancing experiences with her, I crave to find another girl with similar talents. Not liking dancing is actually grounds for a break up for me. One of the other girls I dated refused to dance...that relationship lasted all of 3 weeks. I mean, that wasn't the reason...but dancing is important to me. ...what was my point again? ...oh yeah. Grinding. I enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, you're doin' it wrong.

Same. Blaming the music is like blaming the sword [its the holder of the sword that matters]. it's all about the atmosphere. Even if i can't stand some of the songs they used to play at my highschool dances, seeing the giant mosh pits, and "standard" dances [ie: stanky leg] made it fun. And yes, I can do pretty much all of the preset song dances. But I'm not sure how to Dougie. Could someone teach me how to Dougie?

Move to the music. If you look stupid, it will be fun. I mean, if you're awkward and uncomfortably bad, but don't make it obvious that you don't care, you're better off staying seated. But, yeah, dance. Let's see. How old are you? High school, okay. There'll probably be grinding. I can't help you there, never done it, never had any desire to. Simple concept, though. You can slow dance? Good, that's very good. I hope you mean ballroom dance, not hold her waist and move to the music. There's a time for that, but you're just as much showing off as you are enjoying each others' company. Girls love to show off how good their boyfriends are at whatever. Sounds like a good girl, by the way. Start out with learning how to move your hips to music. Circular motion. Guys do it much, much slower than girls. Work up to your shoulders, and your arms soon follow. Lose yourself in the good time, but not completely (don't want to do anything too weird, aye?). Just don't make it a big deal if you think it's stupid. Don't stop until the song's over. Good dancing is tiring - if there are a bunch of songs one after another, don't do more than three if they're all fast. Those group dances that everyone seems to know except for you? Learn them! It is fun. You can usually learn them by the time the first verse is done. Above all, wear comfortable shoes and an undershirt ... Ah, Lent, I was really hoping you'd post, and you delivered... addressing your comments: [cabbage]. That, and the only extent I know, which is a very strict box-step, but that's swing dancing. Uh. Yeah. That's really all I was thinking when I read that. That's the thing, right now, no idea how to dance. I'll 'practice' the techniques that you mentioned, and try to find a friend who can teach me in private in under 14 days, I suppose... I'd love to show off... Summer was supposed to be my time when I addressed all this stuff during this transformation, but I wasted it...now I'm trying to act like it's all up my sleeve. Dude! you can swing dance? That's BA. Tell her you can do that. But yeah, as Lent/Dan said, just be natural, no sudden dramatic movements, just loosen up and realize no one else around you can dance either. Have fun, and make sure your girl has fun. That's what's important

Mike Portnoy leaves Dream Theater
If he joins up A7X on a permanent basis I might have to change my pants. Sucks for Dream Theatre though. Hope they find a new drummer.

What's the problem? It causes no harm to anyone. I'm seriously lovin' the fact that this was said by a man with pedo-bear as his avatar.

If that theory worked then anyone who ever played a shooting game or saw any violent t.v. show would be going out and causing a masacre. Apparently you're not a gamer. It's pretty much common knowledge among gamers that the media is always trying to blame something on video games. Like there was a kid who accidentally hung himself, they blamed it on his Nintendo WII. Kid shot himself in the head, they blamed it on Halo. The media blaming something isn't scientific or even philosophical fact. Keyword: Media. Looking at porn hasn't been proven to make you want sex either. Most guys who look at porn already want sex. Personal inquiery: Porn does make people want sex, even if they didn't to begin with. It plants the idea of sex in your head, and nature takes its course with the rest.

Err... what? He's saying she's either lesbian, or bi-sexual. (He doesn't know which one) And the not-knowing has been eating at me since like May of this year >.<

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I feel stupid. I've hesitated for months about really getting to know this one girl just because I was REALLY attracted to her in that freak-myself-out way. Why the hesitation? She has a girlfriend. And I'm 99% she still does. Am I wrong for being hesitant? She's into girls....I haven't even asked if she's into guys or not. I've posted this problem before, but the only progress I've really made is the occasional text conversation I have with her [which is to say none]. On the one hand, I have nothing to lose and asking her if she's bi is a no-lose situation. I feel stupid because even with that logic, I still haven't brought myself to asking her. Would it be weird to call her out of the blue and just have a normal conversation? I want to do this, but i kind of want to actually talk in person. Meaning I have to move from phone to face-to-face. Not that hard, but she's bordering inexperienced, and probably has a girlfriend. So then I'm just the weirdo who called her to hang out. Which I guess i could solve by having something somewhere set up that we can both enjoy. I'm thinking baseball game. Or concert. We really clicked when I first met her....it's just a shame that the timing was so off that it didn't go anywhere. Its tough to just let this opportunity pass. But with my history with girls, it may have been for the best that it was stalled in any case. so...now that I've rambled for a good 5 minutes....I don't even know why I'm posting this. Guess it helps to just frustratedly vent at a wall. A wall composed of a dozen or so frequenters with individual opinions and thoughts. or something. sigh.

I also have[had] this problem at some parties because I don't drink/smoke either. What I learned quickly though, is that you can easily fit in with those types of people by acting like you drink. Show up to a club. Dance like an idiot. No one's gonna care because they're drunk, or they think you were. So no one's judging you. People drink in those situations to loosen up and be socialable. All you have to do is get to that level without inducing drugs/alcohol. It's a skill that's easily picked up, you just need to learn that no one judges you, and those that do don't matter.

Blind Guardian's "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" is an incredible concept album. Think Lord of the Rings + Power metal. Really really good power metal. Enjoy this 22 track behemoth.

Top 5 artists that you're currently in love with!:)
of all time? can't possibly be answered. WAY too many bands. then you have to consider influence verse execution, and genre, etc etc. BUT my top 5 bands that I'm currently in love with: 5. Chevelle 4. Avenged sevenfold 3. Tool 2. Jamie's Elsewhere 1. A Day to Remember (5) is replaceable with Sevendust, Breakin Benjamin, Atreyu, Bullet for my Valentine, In Flames...etc. They're all equal at that #5 spot

Well, if you're honestly cool with just being friends, just wait a little while, then when you feel it'll be slightly less awkward, say that you value your friendship with her too much to lose it over a lousy decision. Hope you weren't in love with her or anything. Plenty of other girls out there, mate. go meet a few
