Lookin' for some good metalcore to add to my playlist and I need some suggestions. :thumbup:

Protest the Hero is more metalcore-ish so you might like them. I don't like much metalcore so I can't recommend much else.

metalcore is an interesting genre, because rarely is something strictly metalcore.

Honestly I have no idea what metalcore is these days and I tend to stay away from the genre. BTBAM is good though.

BTBAM has alot of mathcore influences.

 

Evita is a great band, local to me and I know the lead singer =D

Protest the Hero's Kezia is pretty much essential listening for anyone interested in metalcore.

Plenty of good s**t in the genre. Even your beloved /mu/ thinks so as well.

parkway drive is hardcore, but similar to metal core. They're also better than any other bands mentioned imo.

My suggestion to you, my friend, would be to listen to metal or grindcore instead of metalcore.

Just because they have the same word in their genre, doesn't mean they're in the same genre.

 

And it is certainly not about being "edgy" (if that's a word).

Heh, Evita is pretty nice actually. Decently interesting and the guitarist is a bit of a beast.

I would highly advise buying the album, sounds great in lossless.

Mastodon has nothing to do with metalcore tbh.

 

Unearth is actually one of the few metalcore bands I like.
