Drinking water during for me is rare, and usually only happens on mult-iday benders (because at some point you need to not be dehydrated). I do usually chug a water bottle or 5 every morning after heavy drinking though. Why fill your bladder with something that isn't getting you drunk? I drink just about everyday, but only heavily when I have the money and there's an opportunity. Of course, light drinking to me is ~6 beers in an evening so whatever that equates to in your world. I don't really do multi-day benders much anymore, but mostly because I'm not a reckless college student anymore. I live in the real world, with real world friends and real world money issues. So heavy drinking is common, say like 12 beers & half a bottle of what-have-you but I don't go full on reckless like I used to very much.

I don't have a science fact on the tip of my tongue but having as much experience with alcohol as I do and being friends with so many people of the same have taught me that chicken/fish right before heavy drinking doesn't end well. And in the future try to only stick to one or two drink types. Quickly mixing different liquors is kind of advanced for a once in a blue moon drinker
