Right now, artificial lungs don't sound like a bad idea for me. At all.

These vacations I'm going to do the same think rick did: get one free afternoon and rent a movie and all it's sequels. It'll be a day dedicated to The Godfather, another to Kill Bill, another to Rocky, one for Star Wars and so on. :D

What are you listening to right now!?
Just came back from a Deep Purple gig. Oh my good god! What was that? Opened with Pictures of Home, then Things I've never said, Livin' Wreck, Fireball, Rapture of the Deep, Wrong Man, guitar solo including some Beatles, Guns n' Roses, Led Zeppelin and classical pieces. After that came When a blind man cries, Lazy (the best arranged version I've ever listened), Highway Star, Perfect Strangers, Space Truckin', awesome organ solo, including Brasileirinho, the 2001 theme, the Star Wars theme and more. Then Smoke on the Water and Deep Purple went away. We kept asking for Black Night moaning it. They came back in after two or so minutes and played not only Black Night, but Hush as well, and an outstanding bass solo. I'm blown away. So is my right ear.

If you were given a $1000 to make a difference...
It would be misquoting IF I'd made it sound like Ghost said that... Which I clearly didn't, since my post is in italic. Anyway, let me put my point straight: While distributing money, Ghost's church is taking away 10 million dollars from circulation, and thus making his local economy weaker. I believe that money would end up helping the poor anyway, by giving the local employers means to hire more people, and thus reduce the poverty and unemployment levels naturally. I don't know how exactly his church invests that money, but I believe it's on 'emergencial' programs that hand out food, healthcare and so on. Those programs don't help society as much as a solid economy with employed, and educated people. Those only create dependence relationships between the poor and the Church. Also, there's no need for a religious group to be involved on those processes. In my humble opinion, those are not worth the price of having a youth professing that "Christians are the only people with morals and are thus superior."

private schools: for or against?
Several people in this thread have told stories of private schools that are below the standards set by public schools. Assuming that 'private' actually means better education is... not very accurate. And then there's the whole extra subjects thing, most notable various religious practices. I mean, I don't mind of some parents send their kids of to a school that only serves kosher food, adapts it holidays around religious holidays and so on, but the idea of parents sending their kids off to a school where they are taught to worship a specific diety along with maths, or indoctrinated by a political party, scares the [cabbage] out of me. Those you are talking about aren't normal schools, but are brainwashing institutions. I obviously don't support those. My 'assumption' that private schools are better than public ones is absolutely realistic in the place I live. If you go to a public school here, you simply won't get in a college, and will live forever with a 300 dollars monthly salary.

...What the hell... Maybe they should pay back their debt before opening more locations. Maybe helping people is more important than somebody else's money?

private schools: for or against?
Still, if nothing is done to make public schools better, why should everyone get a poor education? So basically what your saying is that poor people have less of a right to an educatation than anyone else? No matter what you say. In real life that's what matters. Poor people DO get less health, education, entertainment, etc. You saying they have the right to get good education isn't going to change that. My point here is: why should everyone get poor education when there are people who can get better education, and perhearps figure out a way to give everyone good education in the future?

Still, if nothing is done to make public schools better, why should everyone get a poor education? Something should be done to make public schools better. :D /me injects some pessimism into Mad. ;P

If you were given a $1000 to make a difference...
I believe charity is nonsense. Therefore, I'd either use it for myself, or - if I really weren't needing anything - I'd use it for something that could actually help the needy.

Worst Game You Ever Played
Never really got to like this game, no matter how hard I tried. Maybe I were too young, but on the killing people category, the early GTAs were much better than Carmageddon.
