Download opera and try runescape on that. ONLY relpy once you've done that. It looks to me like it might be a plugin issue. PS. dl opera, not chrome, not safari, OPERA.

Unless you can't physically access the internet then a technology blind person will see no difference between the latest alpha of opera and internet explorer 5(my middle school used it for their macs *sobs* it was horrible :cry: ) Also, normal response to "what browser do you use?"? Does it give you any error messages when you try to update it? You could also try reinstalling it.

The battery life looks to be sub-par so I'd recommend getting an extra 12 cell battery with it.

Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 has the ability to do that. ...and so does opera.

I'm pretty sure there's no "specs" for a 64x os. You should be all right, although i'm sure a quick google search would clear up the problem. :thumbsup:

Chrome is a minimalist browser that's only advantage is a small bit of unnoticeable speed. Safari doesn't work well on windows, it's a privacy nightmare and it's buggy. Firefox uses a huge ammount of memory, it's extremely unstable with addons and it is very featureless without addons. Opera has a huge amount of features, exelent stability and low memory usage built in all with nice js speed(second to webkit, which was made specifically to beat the tests) and the best security. It also needs no addons.

Safari 3 doesn't work well on windows and while safari 4 does well on the tests, thats about all it's good at. Opera is probably going to be your best bet.

Probably a plugin issue, if you can't find a fix on google then your probably not going to be able to do anything. Opera has a really nice interface and it's also really fast it also has a ton of features without needing addons.

Tell them that pages don't render correctly and are very slow to load and that if you get opera you wont have to download any more addons for functionality(plus security risk and lack of tabbed browsing with ie6).

whoa there, that's internet explorer 6. I would highly highly suggest getting opera, it will be at least 3 or 4 times faster, it's much, much more secure, it has a ton of usful features(tabbed browsing, download manager, themes, opera turbo, etc.) and it loads pages correctly. Also since the firefox users would murder me in my sleep here's the link to that and chrome and safari and maxthon. If you can't live without internet explorer then please, please get the latest version of it here It's version 8

If he indeed does have a crappy computer then firefox will butcher it, opera is much more stable and less resource hungry plus it has tons more features(if vanilla firefox doesn't kill the computer then addons surely will), Media player- KM player looks a bit(ok a lot) better than vlc and it'll also play a lot of codecs. - Winamp for music Browser- Opera AV- Avira is really nice for a free av, avast and avg aren't that good Maintenance - Glary's utilities, it has *everything* need for maintenance including registry cleaner, uninstall manager, startup manager, memory optimizer, defragger, file shredder, file undeleter, file encrypter/decrypter, etc.
