Oh, okay Nintendo, cancel every FPS you were thinking of making - our game expert has spoken. :roll: They really should. Nintendo has never, I repeat, NEVER, had a good FPS, so thanks for agreeing. I assume Goldeneye and Perfect Dark don't count then? Actually It's more of the Best console fps transfers to an average FPS on PC. :)

Just to clarify a bit, the "wait for refresh" option is called V Sync or Vertical Sync. It makes it so that your FPS will not go above your refresh rate. And anyways an FPS over 60 won't matter in the long run.

Vista handles a lot of things better than XP, but in turn also has a higher minimum requirements. IIRC Vista pages RAM better (takes more of it to run well, but it also handles said RAM a lot more efficiently). Sorry, but if you are finding a 30% FPS difference between XP and Vista than you either are not running Crysis/Fallout 3 very well at all (difference between 10 and 13 fps or something lol) or simply had a big driver issue with Vista. Considering you are running it @ 50fps in XP I doubt you will drop down to 35fps in vista. Or if you're running 30fps than dropping down to 20fps in vista. The point is any performance gain you are going to get with XP is so completely negligible that it doesn't warrant not getting Vista. It would be nice if we could get blade in here (He knows a lot more about Vista than I do) to actually get some facts straight. Just trust me though when I say that you should always get Vista 64 for a gaming desktop, unless it is a severely low end model (I.E using 4-5 year old parts).

If 700Mb doesn't make a difference than why do you keep talking about the performance difference between XP and Vista? (Considering the one thing Vista does worse than XP is use more RAM.)

I do think drop down menus might be a bit hard, I'm not sure if I can really do that using HTML/CSS. (I don't have enough time to learn java yet lol). Great stuff! But most of us like being able to USE our comp other then look at the nice "ON" LED, and listen to the soothing hum of the CPU fan. No speakers + no monitor + no interface = a useless box. Perhaps read the OP next time before being a [bleep]?

You really think it is wise to use 64 bit XP? Sure, that's great and all if you want 90% of your programs to simply not function (including games). :lol: Vista 64 > XP 64. There isn't even any comparison honestly. XP 64 blew chunks. Also 4GB of ram these days is seriously like $30. There is no reason not to have that much.

Sigh, I read the first link and they are testing it on a machine with 2GB RAM and the article is almost a year old. Look, in real world testing Vista is faster, Vista is better. XP does squeeze by in tests like this but it fails to recognize the power of Vista 64 bit with 4GB + of ram. I'll just say that my machine is a lot faster because of Vista 64 , and I would lose a lot going down to XP 32 (and XP 64 is terrible). And no offense, but the naysayers are someone who had a problem with Vista and thinks it's horrible, and a mac fan. So, at this point, it is pointless to buy XP. If you don't know what DX10 does it might be a good thing not to try and talk about it.

Debating playing my mage again instead of warrior for arena. I just feel that on my warrior I don't have much breathing room as far as "skill" goes right now. On my mage it feels like I can overcome a situation where I am out geared by just playing smart. I dunno, I'll gear out both a bit and just try and figure it out... edit: nvm that [cabbage], tried two arenas and they both sucked. Granted I'm really rusty on mage but I don't feel like relearning the class. *waits until his new apartment to do arena again*

Depends on what your PSU is (power supply). (I also assume that if you have a PC with a core2duo you have a PCI-E slot) A cheap card could run you about $50-$80 probably. If you have a prebuilt machine what is it's model?

well your video card is really poor, might be the problem.

Everything except the OS, case, and RAM are deactivated on Newegg :lol: Yeah I figured. Still you can get the same idea for probably around the same price. I'll be damned if I'm looking for all that again though lol.

The card is DX10 compatible but nothing really good is going to run in DX10 mode on it. COD 4/5 would run on it (they're wonderfully optimized because of IW's engine), HAWX I'm not sure, GRID I'm not sure. I'm fairly positive you could get away with low-medium settings though.

I think it's too busy for a main page personally. I mean, you have all this information that just bombards the user. I like the layout though, and I like the header -- very simple and effective. I just think there is too much info on the front page. Also you realize that people with a 1024x768 monitor will have to do some scrolling right? Not a huge deal, but still. :)

Yeah dude no one is going to buy your computer... The laptop is ok, the 9500M GS isn't going to be able to handle anything too big. As sniper said Crysis on low details, but nothing good, especially for the price.
