Yeah I really don't think they are true. The video game industry on a whole doesn't really do much to sue people (unlike the music industry with the RIAA) so you really aren't going to get sued for pirating even recent games, and especially not older ones. Like I said though I'm not the best person to really talk about morality with ROMs though. I think it's fine due to the games being older and difficult to find plus with a lot of games I have bought them before. *hugs his NDS with the 25 NDS roms, 1000 NES roms and 600 SNES roms on it* (Well I need to put the NES/SNES stuff back on D:)

It's illegal but no one is going to call you out on it or arrest you for it. So my stance is just do what you think is right. I don't think it is a big deal, but then again I have a lot of ROMs of recent games as well (for the NDS).

Yes damage is much higher now, I've learned to deal with it. Then again I did a ton of PvP in Diablo II so WoW is really slow compared to that. And there still is skill over gear to a point in WoW. Sure, against an even matched opponent (evenly skilled) whoever has the better gear will have an upper hand, but most people who PvP in WoW suck.

[1] Considering the entire point of the game is built around gear being your primary way of advancement after 80 it can't change. It's not like it's hard to get gear anyways, lolpug Naxx or something for welfare epics. Even then any PvPer who knows wtf he's doing can win in greens/blues. [2] Somewhat along the lines of [1]. Unless you have some of the worst gear in the game you won't be getting one shot under normal means. Even the worst geared players can get 15k-16k hp @ 80. Gear's just an excuse. ;)

I should say that nudity and rape are two very different things. I'm perfectly fine with nudity in a medium.

It helps because you are failing before you even start to create. You don't want to start with a bad stock.

I guess I could get into this debate a little bit. For one, it's obvious why the game was pulled. Most of us have been desensitized to violence being the "norm", and violence is really not a taboo subject in any art form, and it hasn't been for centuries. With rape, however, it's another story. Really I think that rape is still very much a taboo subject to talk about, just as pedophilia is. It's not to say that rape, nor pedophilia, never gets mentioned (or happens) in popular media. There are many incredible films which have acts of rape in them, but you have to remember that it is done in such a way that rape is cast in a negative light. In the case of why violence is more acceptable than rape, well, you can't really look at something in terms of how much harm it does I think. I don't think anyone would argue that rape is more harmful than violence. However when we look at popular media I really don't think it's hypocritical to say that violence is ok, but that this rape game is not. Let me explain. This "game" casts rape in a very favorable manner. You have no consequences ([bleep] gets pregnant? Have her get an abortion!) and there is no story or reason other than prime instincts. Now, I'm not sure if I could say that a game built solely on being able to (visually) torture others in a graphic manner would be much better. No doubt that if a "game" which had you do nothing but visually torture others, including children, would probably fall prey to the same kind of ban as said "rape simulator" has. In reality there really is not any game which has a simulator feel when it comes to violence and casts it in a positive light. GTA4? The cops come after you! Plus, the game does not actually show that much violence. Peoples heads don't blow up, limbs don't fall off, it's very much easy to tell that it is fake. Other games that use violence may use it for the purpose of artistic expression. This isn't to say that I never want rape in games. In fact, I would be fine with a game where the main protagonist gets raped or, even though it's a huge step culturally, your own character actually gets involved in a raping. (either getting raped or being the rapist). However it all has to be used in the correct context I think, and with such a taboo subject it's a really touchy thing to do correctly. But really there is no easy answer to it Lionheart. I don't really view myself as hypocritical in any way (that being said I don't think anyone who plays this game would actually want to go out and rape, but instead I just view them as sad) for agreeing with Amazon's decision. Fact is, there are battles that you should try and fight and should just stay away from, and this is something you just want to stay the hell away from.

I think this pretty well describes me. To elaborate though. I think I've been on Tip.it for close to 8 years now when I come to think of it (although I think I joined around the same time Azvareth did). From what I remember I came to sell something, or a guide.. I have no idea. Eventually though the idea of being able to sell these little pieces of graphics for runescape GP really intrigued me, mostly because I sucked at the game and wanted a get quick rich scheme. Ended up making a ton of enemies in the Media Board when I first started out by taking what was a "free background" (it actually was, but still) and putting a runescape character ontop of it in paint and calling it a signature. Even sold it for 25k somehow. Either way I ended up getting much more into graphic art, maybe just because I was stubborn and wanted to prove some people wrong (Witty_Fool and the like) but really I just loved it. In a lot of ways I can credit both runescape and Tip.it for inspiring my current subject that I am studying at college and what will eventually be my job. I figure I stay around mostly for the people. Really out of habit though. It gets kind of boring when you're used to just checking the forums in between flight paths in an MMO or something. :) Really though I always like these topics because I still think that it's funny how possibly the worst game in the world inspired my career choice.

Yes, you can bridge a connection. However chances are your NIC (or NAC? ugh) access level will be restricted, which means you will have difficulty in online games. At least that was the case when I did it.

The thing is, does amazon even sell "porn" in the first place? I don't think so, and this was very much so a porn game.

Sounds like it might be used for more of a defensive scout (the bat). Hard to tell what the loss of double jump would mean though.

How can someone be elitist about Runescape? :lol: That being said a P2P model would just mean you would weed out the kids who can't beg their mothers to let them use their credit card, and instead you'd get the kids who did manage to do so. Oh and I guess those people who actually wanted to pay for the game themselves. There is nothing Jagex can do to escape their current fanbase. At least in the case of some F2P/P2P MMORPGS, such as Anarchy Online, it is complicated enough that the annoying players mostly leave due to frustration.
