  1. Cheapest way would be to use a cat 5 cable and just network the two computers together and transfer the data that way. However, a few things to note: - Don't transfer over norton, and get something good like Avira. - The games you will have to reinstall, so hopefully you still have the CD/DVD's and/or the digital downloads available to you. You can't transfer them due to windows creating registry files upon install. - AoL settings? I'm sure there is a way you can transfer that, but do you mean just for getting connected online, or browser settings, or what? :?
  2. Angizia's Die linke Hands des Musikanten I think it might be my favorite Angizia song. Just incredible, and the violin or whatever it is near the end is crazy good.
  3. If you can boot into safe mode than that might mean you have a virus. I would scan while you were in safe mode.
  4. Brad, I would wait for their Call to Arms Live Expansion before starting to be honest. It isn't a bad game by any means, however, it has it's good fair share of problems. One problem is that Mythic is pretty stubborn right now to just call server merges (they have a ton of servers and only 300k paid subscribers right now) so some servers are downright dead, and even on the large servers it can be difficult to get a fight because of the low population. In the lower levels there aren't many people at all anymore I would wager, and at the higher levels it gets hard to find ORvR due to no real centralized "hub" but instead a lot of different possible zones to fight in at once. So I would give it some more months and see what they are doing. At the very least wait until the Orc Choppa and Dwarf Slayer are released so you have some low level people to play with. Really though, the game has issues right now so I couldn't suggest it to anyone, I myself quit a good number of months ago.
  5. At the very least just make your own brushes if you don't want to follow the trend. Of course I don't really care if someone actually uses some stock brushes if they put thought into the piece, but that's another story... The dude is crazy blurry, the background is boring and has no depth or variety (which means that it is very two dimensional, and that all of the elements in the signature look the same -- which leads to a boring piece).
  6. The border sucks, get rid of it. I think it's too large of an image too, there is too much blank space and more or less boring space. And really it's very blurry.
  7. The clusterf**k in the middle ruins it.
  8. Adobe is working with Apple currently to do this, I believe.
  9. I've said it before in other posts, but I think ShadowFax covered it well here. BestBuy marks up hardware a lot, such as video cards / hard drives / sound cards / ect. but they really don't mark up general computers that much. The big thing about best buy is that they are big enough that they can afford to have sales every week. Keep an eye out on the sales. Of course, well, I just looked at newegg and seems like they have a sale of their own: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834101166 The same laptop for $1,200. Actually a damn good deal still. :) I would recommend that laptop I just posted there, out of personal experience. (been using it for a couple of months now and it's great. Can play anything I throw at it).
  10. He's saying the 8800 is performing better, which confuses him because of lower Core/Shader and memory clocks. Do you actually have an 8600GTS XXX Edition? I find that most reviews really wimp out when it comes to crysis. And anyways the 8800GT is just overall better than the 8600GT. Not to mention Crysis is very CPU dependent as well.
  11. Nadril replied to Sam's topic in Art and Media
It's not a C4D. :| uuuuuugh I hate that. (pet peeve of mine)
  12. Crysis isn't that hard to play...
  13. Beyond that there isn't any magical program which will make your computer run faster, especially on such an outdated machine. The easiest upgrade would be the ram (256mb is painfully low even for xp) although if it's a DDR motherboard and not DDR2 the RAM will be more expensive. The only thing I could see him doing is moving to a lightweight linux distro.
  14. I used a removable hard drive with photoshop installed on it for 3 months when I did an internship last summer. The USB port you use shouldn't matter. It may be slower than an internal though if you're running more intensive programs like games.
  15. Man, no idea why it took me so long to start playing sniper more. I used to rock with sniper back in TFC, and I'm getting into it again. Beat my new record, 33 points in one life as a sniper (on a normal map). [hide=][/hide] I love it. :P
  16. They all could stand to be smaller in size and given a bit of color correction. Just an example of what I would do.
  17. Man I always forget about Burzum. I love his work, I just never listen to it that much. I can relate to that though. The Rap thread I've read through and, while I'm sure I would love a lot of the stuff that was posted, I just don't have the will to really look further into it yet. Of course I wouldn't consider myself a metalhead either (ugh, hate that term :P) because I try and listen to a good variety of music. I find that there is always something in each of these genres that is worth listening to. :)
  18. There is no use arguing Wookiee, those 3 bands suck. And I doubt that SilverSword was talking about "extreme" bands when he said they are hard to get into. I'm guessing he more of meant work such as Maudlin of the Well which is very hard to understand.
  19. So that's why a laptop that cost $1,500 on Newegg cost me $1,000 at best buy, right? :)
  20. Are you able to boot up in safe mode?
  21. NOM, I would do yourself a favor and really try and explore some of the bands other people have posted. Going beyond what you normally listen to is great, I can't understand why someone would want to stay within a familiar and "safe" zone. And you'll find that most of the stuff everyone has posted shy's away from these harsh vocals you can't stand, or aren't even really metal at all (I.E share very little in common with it).
  22. Don't remember to be honest.
  23. Actually I quite like your new one. It might do better being a tad smaller in height, but it's got a clear focal and everything. Colors are nice.
