How bad is a PSP? I'm getting a DS - read last post pls
Someone has managed to hack the DSi's firmware, running a simple Hello World program on it. It will be a while until we see homebrew on it however. When do I expect to see it with the MicroSD slot the DSi has built in. I own an R4 at the moment.

Rock Band II
Damn, 86% on Visions (Guitar, Expert) before I failed it. :wall: Oh and apparently the band that did that song is fronted by a female who works for Harmonix.

Your favourite console you own?
Well, considering NDS is a handheld and a PC isn't a console...I'd have to say dreamcast. One of the few consoles I loved, had an incredible library and pioneered online capabilities in consoles. PSO, Sonic Adventure 1 + 2, Quake III, Unreal Tournement, Jet Set Radio, Worms Armegeddon, MvC2, Crazy Taxi 1+2....

Left 4 Dead

Don't get an R4, they're tough to find now and more expensive. I'd get a CycloDS or something that has SDHC capabilities. And the DSi is going to be a waste I think. As far as graphics go: Quake II DS Homebrew port. Needs Slot 2 memory device. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Final Fantasy IV: DS Again, go to gamerankings and look at the games for both systems, please. I'm not trying to lead you one way or another here and you need to know how to make up your own mind >_<.

Do you not listen? Go to gamerankings, look at the games for both systems and make your decision. Also to get a flash cart for the DS it involves ordering it overseas.

Windows 7
Yeah, DX 10 really isn't a big enough of a deal to warrent an upgrade from XP. However if you're buying a new PC than may as well get Vista.

I'm guessing this is probably it...

Official N64 Thread
Classic System, no doubt. However a lot of the systems titles have aged horribly due to the awkward controller Nintendo decided to use.

GPU = Video Card?
No, GPU just stands for Graphics Processing Unit. Just another way to say video card. Like How a CPU and Processor are the same thing.

Not sure if that was directed at me or not. Acording to Game Rankings the NDS has 50 games with an 80% average score or better, while the PSP has 47. Because of this largely the decision comes down to the buyer. I would strongly suggest anyone (hint: OP) check out Game Rankings, as it's easily the best site to compare scores. Homebrew is usually how the two are compared, in which case again it all depends. NDS homebrew is largely a one time deal, all you need to do is buy a flash cart ($40-$50) and a MicroSD card and you are good to go. The PSP you have to constantly battle firmware updates, which can be difficult sometime. You also risk the (small) chance of bricking your PSP for good. In most cases NDS homebrew is more inovative, due to touch screens and dual screens while PSP homebrew allows for stronger and more graphicaly intensive apps. While the NDS can only handle up to SNES emulation the PSP actually has working N64 emulation (and PS1 due to the fact that the PSP is very largely based off of PS1 hardware). On the other hand the NDS has some very nice homebrew, such as a drawing app that takes advantage of the touch screen among other interesting ideas. Plus it still has a decent bit of power, capable to emulating Quake I, Quake II (with a rom card in slot 2) and all the favorites such as Doom, Duke 3D, ect. Size and battery life wise the NDS has a superior battery life. Really, it's common sense. This isn't to say that the PSP's battery life is bad, just that an NDS can easily out last it. The NDS also is a bit smaller than the PSP which allows for easier travel, and I enjoy the style of the DSlite not to mention the flip screen is nice to help protect it while not in use.

I can get 10 full PSX games, I could homebrew and get just as many - if not more - Nintendo games as you mentioned or I can fit a whole season of animu and watch that. Though I dont personally homebrew, the only games id want to play on my PSP are either PSX ones which are already released or if I did, a few niche japanese games like Touhou/Melty Blood/VNs anyway. Which im not hugely bothered about. IIRC NDS homebrew still isn't possible on the PSP. :P And obviously the PSP is a more powerful handheld, and really both homebrew scenes are fantastic.

I can too on my DS. And because NDS games are crazy small (32Mb to 128Mb) I easily have 20 NDS games + 1000 NES roms + 200 SNES roms + homebrew on mine. And the NDS does have a bit of power behind it. I have a quake 2 port on it that works well (homebrew). Stylisticly I do enjoy the games better though -- the PSPs are usually too blocky.

Dude, honestly, this belongs in the Video games and Consoles sub forum. Do your own research on it for once.

9800GT is a good bit better than the 9600GT. The 9600GT is just an 8800GT with a few shader pipelines locked, while the 9800GT is an improved version of the 8800GT. (can't remember how much improved, but its worth it).
