Handheld consoles
My god, 3+ hours! That's something  . The DS lite looks incredibly sexy IMO, It's a good looking handheld. And if someone wants they can take those game lists of mine and compose it into ports/not ports. IIRC really the only 'ports' on the DS are Super mario 64, Mario kart and, uh.. yoshi's island? (don't remember). Oh and Final fantasy III.

Guild Wars or WoW
Guild Wars 2 is still a bit out there, and Wrath of the Lich King is an expansion pack. Hell -- We really don't know much about GW 2 yet, so I won't be holding my breath.

Handheld consoles
Thats the way I feel really. Even the games that are unique to the system feel like they're something I should have been playing at home years ago when PS1 was out. Completly agreed. I don't know about everyone else but often times when you're using a handheld you don't have time to sit down for hours on end. One of the nice things I always found about the DS is that you could just close the lid and it would pause your game / put the DS into sleep mode. It's a nice little feature that is really nice when you're actually traveling and have to do something else quickly. But as far as the games go like I said before, those people who think that these games like Mario and tetris are of little substance must not have gamed back in the day much. To expand on that most of the DS games actually have a lot of substance in them through the touch screen, it really adds another level to gameplay. Sometimes though I just want to chill back and play something quick and fun. As I said before the DS feels more like a handheld to me than the PSP. Anyways my experience with the PSP has been as far as playing my little brother's one extensively when we were on vacation. One big problem with the PSP is the battery life is abnormal, it doesn't last long until it is gone. My DS (on the other hand) I had last for incredibly long. This thanksgiving I was playing it a lot, and from wens-friday night I was playing it at least 4-5 hours a day while watching TV. It ended up finally dying on me some time (late) friday night, I think I got like 15 hours out of it easily -- maybe more IDK.

Guild Wars or WoW
I agree that WoW has a lot of bad players but IIRC Guild wars had worse. Just trying to PUG PvP matches in Guild wars was horrible, they just don't listen and absolutely suck. $15 a month is, like, 2 hours of working. It's not a waste of money considering it has an extreme amount of content compared to Guild wars.

Guild Wars or WoW
Video games sub forum. This arguement is stupid, because you can not compare the two games. Hell, one is an MMO and one isn't for christs sake. WoW stomps on Guild Wars. I played Guild wars in beta and then for another few months but the game just doesn't have that much content. The community as well is incredibly horrible. I liked the idea of PvP but to get on a good PvP guild you need to have a good rank, and to have a good rank you have to try grouping with some of the WORST PvPers in the history of mankind. I have never grouped with a worst set of players before in any game. I had fun when my guild (that I made, at one time we were #350 in the world for GvG) played, but most people got tired and quit so I did too.

Is God real post your thoughts!
I don't see how that's a valid argument. Especially in industrialized western nations with a large christian community (excluding the US), evolution and religion go hand-in-hand. The existence of a God does not automatically exclude the fact evolution happened. This is true and is something so many religious people just don't get. People believing in a God really don't bother me. It's faith and I understand that, some people just need to have something reassuring like that in their life. What I don't get is when they completely ignore the fact that evolution is not real simply because of their religion. I remember reading something a while ago, I don't remember where. The basic premise of it was that if God is all knowing than why couldn't he have simply "jump started" the entire universe, so to speak, and started with just the right materials, timing, whatever so that we would end up where we are now (as humans)? The fact is it would be well within the limits of what an "all knowing" and "all powerful" being can do. I might have gotten a little off-track here but there isn't really anywhere else to post this. As far as the original question goes, no I don't believe in God. To be honest I just really don't have any faith in him and disagree with some points that the church (in general) makes. The biggest thing, of course, however is that I just don't have faith -- and even if God was real I don't know if I could see myself praying to such a thing. For me I'd consider myself a strong atheist because, even though I acknowledge the fact that a god could exist (although highly unlikely) I wouldn't want to have anything to do with this God. At any rate I guess we'll find out the answer when we die. If I wake up after death and it's really hot I'll know the answer.

Handheld consoles
You honestly think games such as Mario, Tetris and Yoshi's Island are games of 'little substance'? Likewise WarioWare is a mini games collection (bassicly) so I don't know why you'd bother putting that in. Also a DS really only needs an R4D4 (and the micoSD card to go in it) for most of that stuff. The EZ Flash 3 in 1 is only needed if you want to play GBA ports.

So who's tutorial did you follow? :) Looks like Greg martin's from a glance. Great job for a first image, making a planet is a good idea for a first because it really gets you familiar with the program.

I have to really argue against this. First of all, the games on the DS are really poor? Currently this is the "good" lineup on it: 1. Mario Kart DS DS Nintendo 77 8.9 92.0% 2. Advance Wars: Dual Strike DS Nintendo 60 8.7 90.4% 3. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow DS Konami 70 8.7 90.4% 4. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS Nintendo 56 9.1 88.9% 5. New Super Mario Bros. Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day DS Nintendo 61 8.2 78.1% 42. Final Fantasy III DS Square Enix 47 8.4 77.7% I went down a little lower (to 77%) just because a few of those are still good buys. Now, I know you have this image in your head that the DS is for kids. But in reality the really only 'kids' games on that list could be Nintendo dogs and pokemon, but even then adults love them. The fact that you think series such as Sonic, Mario and such are 'kids' game really shows how ignorant you are -- or at the least you are young enough not to really remember when those games were common. Now, here is the PSP list down to about 79%. 1. Lumines PSP Ubisoft 77 7.9 90.3% 2. Wipeout Pure PSP SCEA 77 8.1 88.8% 3. Tekken: Dark Resurrection PSP Namco Bandai Games America 62 8.5 88.6% 4. Brave Story: New Traveler PSP Xseed Games 31 9.0 79.4% My problem really with it is that it seems like there is an unecisary amount of sports games and such. There are still a lot of good games on the system. Maybe it is just me but I really find the DS library superior (although both library's are quite good). To be honest the biggest thing I like about the DS is it doesn't just try to be a mini console. I know a lot of people enjoy that sort of thing, but honestly the PSP at most times just feels like I'm carrying a mini PS1 around instead of a new handheld console.

What is your dream computer?
Oh, four of them, completely missed it. (thought it was 2) At any rate I guess a 1.6kw PSU would be the best you could get for it.

My computer is slowing!
If it has been getting noticably slower over the past month than I would put my money on a virus. Run a virus scan and see if it finds anything.

Just something I've been working on. No text as of yet, don't really have a good place to put it that will flow well with the sig. Any crits? I'm liking it so far, its a bit of a different style than I normally do for abstracts.

crits needed pls testing new siggys =)
You.. applied a filter to runescape images. I guess you did recolor it as well (really easy) but still, its not that good. Try and do more of your own artwork.

Handheld consoles
I used to be a bit on the fence about this (leaning towards the PSP) until I got my hands on a DS. At first my roomate just got one, and got Phantom Hourglass for it. It was at that moment that all my complaints about the touch screen being gimmicky vanished, as that game used it brilliantly. In reality I enjoy the DS over the PSP for several reasons. The first, to be honest, is cosmetic. Because the DS (lite) folds into its self it protects the screen whenever it is in your pocket. The PSP to me feels more of just a 'mini console' than it does an actual handheld, because it seems more fitting to be carried in a case. The new slim model at least changed up its size but the screen still is too unprotected for my likings and gets dirty easy. (going off of my little brothers PSP I have used in the past). Game wise it's a difficult decision. Both handhelds have matured well, however, I still think I enjoy the DS's library over the PSP. The big reason is that it seems like a lot of big name games on the PSP are simply remakes of older PS1 games. I won't lie, the DS has it's good share of remakes as well but overall it seems like there is a bit more originality stemming from the system. Games like new super mario bros were a breath of fresh air. (even if it was another mario game). Likewise the remakes are done well, such as Super mario 64 DS and Mario Kart. Homebrew is the next, very major, thing. While the PSP can effectively run 'better' homebrew (I speak from a purely technical standpoint) it is also much more dangerous to homebrew on a PSP. You need to modify firmware which means that some games of yours may just not work at all. To be honest I just don't see the PSP with that large of a homebrew community. Well, than we have the DS. For something like $70 (an R4DS card + EZ Flash 3 and 1 + 2GB microSD) you can have all of the features of the PSP and much more. While the PSP means you need to modify firmware with the DS all you have to do is put in the cartridge and you're good to go. The DS has an incredibly large homebrew community, and there are tons of great ports for the system. Doom, quake, Duke nukem 3D... they've all been ported over to the DS. Likewise there are web browsers for the DS, word processers (yes), and even paint programs that really transform what the DS can do. Of course there are also completly homebrew games, some which are quite good. Because of the touch screen it really allows homebrew devs to have some fun and really innovate. Likewise it is easy to run SNES emulation, GBA emulation (with the EZFlash) and even DS emulation for you dirty pirates out there. There are other emulators as well in works (IIRC There is a genesis one in the works atm) if you just look around. Price wise the DS, obviously, wins. For $130 for the system its a great buy, Hell I got the DS and 3 good games for under $200. That's what I think at least. Trying to not have much bias, but it's hard considering how much fun the DS really is.

What is your dream computer?
Just a 1KW PSU? I believe that a 8800 requires about 300 Watts just to power itself, I guess the 2900XT's are roughly the same. And for four of them you'd be looking at about 1.2KW, just to power the Graphics Cards alone. You'd probably need a 2KW PSU just to be on the safe side. Lol! A 2kW PSU? IIRC those don't even exist for PC's. The most you will EVER need is, honestly, an 800-900w PSU.
