What's the deal with book readers?
I still think that you can get just as much out of any medium as you would out of a book. Yeah, various mediums have their various ways of telling a story but I still stick by that all of them, if done right, can prove to be "mentally stimulating". I think books, video and video games all can be very stimulating if created correctly. The thing I don't get are people reading the standard formula romance novels or the like and thinking they are smarter for doing so. It's no difference than watching some action flick with no real story or playing a video game without any substance. It's the small minority of these medium's that really can be stimulating I think. Just a small example but look at the game's Braid and Flower. I think both of these have a very interesting message that, sure, might not rank up to the "classics" of literature but are still very interesting in their own right and certainly shouldn't be viewed as inferior or just "games". Same thing could be said for film as well but not being a big movie person I really can't cite and decent examples. I do think that it'll just take time though. It's taken long enough for books to be accepted as "artistic" and I think in time other mediums will follow suit. More on the topic I do agree, even though it's obviously an old post. I don't actually read fiction hardly at all myself but even then I do actually end up reading a lot just simply due to reading news articles and keeping up to date on things.

Heroes of Newerth
Had a solid push strat done in a PUB which really reaffirms my hope in them. that'll probably be shattered shortly but until then :P. Was mostly just the core of us doing Tempest/Slither/Polly, tempest played by me and Polly by Jaerk -- slither was a pub. The slither was actually good (for once) and we did really well. Read/watch tutorials on the forums. You probably would like just dealing with the solo matchmaking then, won't have to deal with pub stomps or anything like that. I haven't tried it out personally though, waiting for TMM before I use that feature. Apparently a new hero should be released "Shortly" after OBT starts. I'm guessing that we'll see a patch tomorrow or friday.

Love making tagged up people rage quit in squad rush. They were talking a lot of [cabbage] and we ended up destroying them. Still constantly swaping between AN-94/M416/M16 though, depending on the situation and stuff.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
Guild drama was always the stupidest thing. 99% of the time it was pretty much "waaaah I didn't get the item I wanted because of X, Y and Z. QQ i'm leaving this terrible guild". That being said most of those loot rules seemed like they were just a catalyst for guild drama, such as "loot council" or even DKP. I must have been the only person in the world who wanted to just deal with a standard [bleep]ing roll, no bull because there is no perfect way to figure out who "deserves" the item. If you can use it and it's an upgrade, roll (end of story). I remember my guild having a bit of drama in it, nothing I really cared about though. I joined off and on so much anyways that it didn't matter.

The Official PS3 Thread
[spoiler=More end spoilers]If you watch past the credits there is a two or three second clip of the cliff Kratos died at, but a huge blood streak appears to go to the edge of the cliff. I assume he survived. Also, the game seemed very biblical, what with the floods, the sun not there, the swarms of insects. I didn't understand the end very much, but I assume that ultimate goddom is given to one person, thus the Christian God of War is the next series in line? Maybe Kratos is God and kills the other gods who have lost power. Because there are still quite a few greek gods, they didn't go through the whole list yet. [hide=Spoilers] I thought that he was just giving the power to all of the humans in the world of something. He might still be alive but I kind of doubt it. I know that they wanted to end it with an explanation as to why the greek gods aren't here anymore. [/hide] Yeah pretty sure I will. That way me and my roomate can have different profiles for SSF4 multiplayer too without having to pay for 2 live accounts...

The destroying buildings instead of just setting the bomb really only annoys me on squad rush, because there are several places where it might be pretty difficult to stop it. Was pretty lame I had it happen to us once and it was 2v4... lol.

Seriously? vs Bad Company 2 looks much better, especially when you factor in the destruction. Oh and Modern Warfare 2 sucks donkey nuts anyways, you should pick up a real FPS instead. Whenever I feel like "sniping" now I just put a 4x on my AN-94. Works wonders.

Heroes of Newerth
That seems odd, especially how just a well placed sphere can be the difference in a team fight. Then again, people are bad.

Smash Club.
SubSpace Emissary, the story mode of the game. And why are we discussing other fighting games now? Since this is the only active thread that's about a fighting game why not expand the discussion towards other fighters? If you want to make a fighting thread you probably should, this one gets spammed to hell anyways. Oh and I didn't really like BlazBlue after buying it. Just waiting for SSF4 now.

I have the same problem really. I'm 21 but I probably look more like 17 or so. Hah, at least it's not my sister -- she's been called a 12-13 year old even though she is 19 years old. :D- Heroes of Newerth
Same deal, PM me your email or something and I'll shoot you an invite. I'm really trying not to get frustrated and get out of this losing streak I seem to be on. I started playing on my "main" account again (1714 PSR) just because but we're still getting some iffy games. I really need to get a team built for HoN so I don't have to deal with PUBs. I have a few people that could do it but would probably need a few more :/. Oh and last game I lost our scout went Helm of the Black Legion + no eyes. Our devourer landed maybe 2 hooks the entire time. Then last night me, my roomate and Jaerk were the only ones on our team to get a kill(s) within like 40 minutes of a game (then it ended). So yeah, I don't know if it's just all the [developmentally delayed]s playing non-matchmaking now ever since SMM came out or what, but it's getting pretty annoying to be honest. It's a pity most of my friends are doing other things. - Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
