I would go with the iron knives since its very fast... you shouldn't train with crossbow because they slow.....there made to kill higher monsters such as iron dragons but there not made for training Conclusion i would say iron knives (on rockcrabs, firegiants etc.)

I did Orange salamanders and then red Salamanders till 63 i think thats the fastest way..
