Yeah, that is kind of disappointing. If anything I feel these should have been changed to different stats rather than the torso getting its strength bonus back. same goes for runner boots too. For those who don't want to waste time getting a migraine for the full set they are useless. It's a real shame.

Jagex has stated since practically the beginning of the game, around the time Guthix did God letters, that they don't approve of pures and don't program their game for them. Back then we were talking about how this was Jagex telling people that they didn't like Pures and we were right back then. I still stand by what I said. If jagex really disliked pures they would do like with merchanting clans and flat out condemn them - or try and destroy them through game updates, which many people claim they do. I'm not defending pures by any means, most of them are immature and make problems whatever they do but jagex has changed a lot scince the god letters. if they really hated pures so much they wouldn't be in the game anymore.

I hope they consider restoring runner boots to the +1 range +1 mage, they were useful little things. If i wanted a pair of rune boots i'd go and buy them thanks

I agree, they should make the minigame actually remotely playable and not a complete headache if they are trying to encourage people to take advantage of this set effect. Penance gear is now just a useless pile of rune armour. so [bleep]ing stupid

this. it is painful to play and you can't really just jump in and play because most of the team-mates you end up with generally don't have a clue what to do - so you have to search for a team on forums or something. I hope they tweak the actual game mechanics because it really is a headache and not fun at all

I bloody hope so. Castle Wars has been neglected since 2003. neglected a year before it was even added to the game, jagex must really hate it and I think castlewars is fine just the way it is. why do you think it's so popular after all this time

If I was being lazy I would have packed up and gone to bed. Instead, I tried my luck in what is still a viable setup (from what I can remember, most of my claw drops have been from when I was still 68 summoning) and I still got the end result. It would have been much more stupid if I'd wasted a hard to come by tort pouch on a 1 kill trip. I've actually found that the hally is a very effective weapon at tds; you can easily hit a 30-30 spec, and with the drain being something like 30% you'll have a spec ready more often than not. admittedly it is slow and pretty useless without the spec though. I'd also rather take a dlong than a whip. unspam;

please tell me that setup is a joke (with your stats that is) i can afford to do it in full armadyl and whatever but that stuff does the trick and gets results. i don't really care and at the end of the day i can spend the money on something better because let's face it armadyl looks like someone attacked initiate with scissors ... Yes. I was hoping that PvP worlds would bring back the glory days, both for single teams and the larger clans - there was a lot of hype for the summer activity (summer of terror) but in the end nothing really happened - that's when some people started to realise the glory days were over. I guess the damage done in the bh era was permanent. Indeed, DI kept alive the "traditions" of honourable playing that originated all those years ago in RSC. Like many are saying, who will now set an example amongst the communities(fansites, irc)? If nobody does, the whole PvP system will just descend into chaos. It sounds ridiculous when it's just a game, but organised fighting is one of the funnest aspects of PvP and it must be kept alive. People say it's easy to blame kids and jagex but it really is those damn kids - It seems the generation of players that started post-2007 are no longer interested in the community and resposibilities that come with big clans, that's why we're seeing so many small clans/teams come and go with such frequency. I think it is also down to jagex these days to help clans keep going - they've been trying hard recently but there needs to be a more mature atmosphere to PvP and jagex should introduce that. I agree completely, a good read. Sadly even if jagex steps in I don't think we will see things improve. At the end of the day it was(?) just a game and as we know all good things come to an end. It's just sad to see something many of us grew up with, turn into something that is so bad we feel we can't be a part of it any more. Maybe I'm being over dramatic, after all Ghjjf threw in the towel because he had simply had enough - if he hadn't, DI would have kept going whatever state the game was in. But there's no denying the state of the game has caused decline in the community. Here's to the good times anyway, I still have plenty of old screenshots to keep me happy <3:

This is huge, and it doesn't just reflect on the clan world either, it marks the end of an older generation of the runescape community. And I don't think the clan world will recover from the things that happened this year. It's really sad, to see the backbone of a game disappear like this. RIP DI
