Its actually a moot point. I don't play enough to ever become a player with a one-of-a-kind skill leve, either first to 99, 120, etc. For the record, I've been called a botter, as well as a no-lifer. I just ignores those players. Seriously, there are too damn many over-sensitive people on this game. Why should I care what haters say? This. I've never understood why players get so caught up in what other people think of them. I get called all kinds of names when I play, and I somehow manage to continue playing and not caring. I know it might be difficult for you (Ts_Stormrage) to do, but maybe you should . . . you know . . . ignore them. I agree with Stonewall. It does not matter how many people bot such-and-such skill -- I would still get 99 (or higher) in that skill if it's one that I like.

I enjoy mage-slaying, but I really can't stand ranged-slaying. I dunno, it's weird. I think it's 'cause it's hard to get a high prayer bonus in ranged slayer gear. I'm just gonna camp frosts for 95-99 ranged/prayer.

Personally, I think FSC could still be the blogscape chat. I think part of the reason is that a lot of the gens + Cod aren't playing very much, so it's kinda fallen apart. I think most people who used FSC are in college and very busy, so . . . I'm thinking . . . just maybe . . . revive FSC by heavily advertising it, picking gens who are more active, and . . . yeah? I don't want to say new owner, as that's up to Cod, obviously, but having an owner that will be on all the time would probably be beneficial to the chat. I barely play anymore due to the RL obligations so I'm part of the problem.

Sorry, but it's pretty far-fetched to argue that fansites keep Runescape alive because people need a place to show off. Clans would have made their own forums (a forum is not a fansite) regardless of the existence of fansites. Again, what are we supposed to discuss? You're really clutching at straws now (not that you weren't before, but you should probably quit while you're behind). EDIT: Oh, and inb4 you argue that forums are fansites, in which case I will argue that IRC keeps entire clans running and active by itself, and IRC cannot be considered a fansite.

But a non-serious topic should still have some discussion value, no? My opinion is that fansites/forums play two roles -- they fill information gaps that Jagex leaves wide open, and they bring like-minded people together. Without fansites, we'd use the RSOF and have a slightly more frustrating experience, but we'd still get our information. We'd have clan chats and clan threads on the RSOF for our community needs. In other words, nothing really changes. However, if fansites didn't exist, someone would surely make one, blah blah blah, PARADOX. I've just repeated what just about everyone else said. No discussion value if there are only two logical conclusions to draw and everyone's posting the same thing.

Balmung is slow, fyi. There are very few places where a whip is not the best non-chaotic weapon, and this is not one of them.

Balmung sucks. Always use a whip if you don't have a rapier.

No-one's agreeing with you, though. People are stating that fansites HELP Runescape, which is true, but you're the only person arguing that Runescape's success and longevity are a direct result of fansites, which is preposterous. And that was a nice underhanded insult. :shame:

Varrock is really the only place to do it. There are tons of other great locations, but they all require FMing backwards. :/ DON'T READ THIS IT'S NOT HELPFUL TO YOU: I usually just a pick a spot and have fun with it. When I FM at the GE, I like to skip spaces all the way up to the yew trees and say hi to the botters (lol Zarfot), then I go all the way back to the GE counter without losing any time. :shades: Nardah is good, too.
