That'd be a pretty interesting and fitting reward, IMO. I mean, I hope there's more to the reward of the finale of the most epic story in Runescape than a dragon defender, but it'd be cool nonetheless.

Do waterfiends have high magic def? Yes. I splashed way too often. I gave up after the first kill because of how long it took, lol. I tried using CoG and fire surge on Bandos mages to very little effect. The safespot doesn't work anymore, either.

I saw Lan slaying this morning. He uses full Bandos, SW cape, a rapier, a steel titan, turmoil, and overloads, and he slays FAST. He was literally in combat 100% of the time. I actually picked up a few tricks just by watching him.

A ranger in full Armadyl and spectral spirit shield using an array of weapons would decimate a mage IF the mage was not using miasmic barrage. However, miasmic barrage tips the scales pretty heavily, in which case I think it could go either way. It was a mistake to allow miasmic spells to affect ranged weapons.

I mage-slayed from 89-96 magic, and I've found that it's ALWAYS worth using the highest level surge spell that you can wolper-scroll up to. ALWAYS use a wolpertinger and scrolls, NO MATTER WHAT. It's worth skipping tasks for ice wyrms due to the huge amount of magic exp you get from them. You can't mage dark beasts, spirit mages, or waterfiends. Monsters I'm unsure of are wyverns and spectres. It costs a lot of money, but I found that I was able to support it on MTK and farm runs.

Yeah, I'd prefer there to be a little more story behind the dragon defender than just magically appearing in Marmaros' shop. I don't know if I like Jagex' current trend of releasing new content that has no backstory.

Perhaps the weapons are like the shields in that they degrade faster under certain conditions (soaking damage for the shields, being attacked by multiple monsters for the weapons).

I'm also interested. Has anyone tried CT fiends with a maul using an iron/steel titan and extremes?

In case you were wondering: EDIT: LOL, it says Wolt is ahead but the hiscores say I'm ahead. I'm about 3k crimsons from 99 summoning, I have a 220 waterfiends task, and I have 35 minutes of triples charms. COOL. Also, like my new banner? Lmfao.

Why not use both? I used to summon an ent for my trees and then switch to a wolper for berries in one run.
