  1. The game was supposed to be played while paying attention...
  2. I don't care about high level content, but I care about making dangerous PvP a better system, maybe like the OLD pre-dec 07 system. But hey, Jagex doesn't care. Truth is, Jagex doesn't care about you, you're not the majority.
  3. Thank you. I was going to post this one much earlier, but I forgot the name. The thing with architecture is that different countries have different standards and needs. A highly retrofitted building that could survive a magnitude 8 or so earthquake is great in China or California, but a bit unnecessary in, say, Utah. And an impossibly tall building in an area with low population density is just wasteful. Each area's architecture suits its needs. Cool I didn't know about the Mesa Verde. Even though the Mesa Verda and the Hanging Monastary are pretty different, I did ask for something built onto the side of a cliff, so I guess it counts  . This means Chinese architecture isn't utter crap, eh? Same playing field perhaps? I agree, different countries have different styles of architecture, example, you see ancient castles all over Europe, but in China, you see temples, Palaces, etc. Different styles with no way to say exactly which one is better. That is what was p***ing me off about what bonkers(saru) said about Chinese buildings being utter crap. Btw, Saru, you don't use average buildings to compare which buildings are the "best" (i'm over the Chinese > NA + Europe, it's a pointless arguement), you use your best examples. Go search up photos of suburban Detroit, would you use those worn out houses as examples to say how they're better than Chinese high-rises? I don't think so. I would think you'd use structures like the Statue of Liberty (even though that was a gift from France, lol), white house maybe? Golden Gate Bridge, etc.
  4. I'm not going to argue whether or not it's worth it. It's worth it to me, but not to you, meh. But there's no denying the Chaotic staff is the best staff in the game and better than the SOL..
  5. Staff is not BAD. The staff is the BEST staff in the game. If you need to worry about costs while maging in pvp, then you shouldn't mage at all. If you're talking about safe PvP, I don't see any reason to spend an extra 15% or so for the same basic effect, and the special is quite useful when you're being piled. For dangerous PvP, the staff has a hilariously low alch value, so have fun with that. If people want to spend 15m on a fury which gives just a couple stats over the glory, why neglect the 5% extra damage? The SOL's spec is useless even when you're being piled because you still will get wrecked by rangers. The ONLY time the Sols spec is helpful is when you're going into the opponents base in castle wars. Also the ccbow has a very low alch value as well, so I don't see your point.
  6. Staff is not BAD. The staff is the BEST staff in the game. If you need to worry about costs while maging in pvp, then you shouldn't mage at all.
  7. Err and interesting way... Well, I guess switch between different zombies? Or slayer is always an option, but that's nowhere near as fast as zombies.
  8. Train on zombie monkeys under ape atoll, or armoured zombies. I say sell your BGS and buy a whip (for attack training) and SS (for strength training).
  9. Staff simply because you said you enjoy safe pvp. I love my staff, and got it first. The staff is simply the best in the game, no more upgrades, that's why I'd reccommend it.
  10. You said, and I quote, "things built in China are utter crap". Now I'm giving you examples about how they're not utter crap. LOL, anymore excuses? "waaaaah olympic buildings don't count" "waaaaah ancient buildings don't count" "waaaaaah you give examples first so I'll have an easier time countering them" :wall: :wall: Show me a building in America that's built into the side of a cliff will ya?
  11. Ok I'll get started off with the Forbidden Palace. wikipedia link I think wikipedia is legitimate enough for this topic. Oh and here's something you don't see in North America, the Hanging Monastery, and here's a non-wikipedia Link. Lol, are you going to tell me those are "subjective" views and therefore don't count? You know architecture is not all about statistics like the height of the building, etc.
  12. Lol, I totally disregarded the OP and posted my statement when I read the title. Well, m'bad. I will save my anti-highlevel rants for another time.
  13. You seem to be under the impression that when I say high level, I mean combat. While I think we could use some new bosses, as the ones we have are pretty stale, that's hardly pressing compared to the plight of skills. I'm a STRONG advocate of updates to skills, especially smithing, crafting, construction, runecrafting, thieving, agility, etc. All those skills that have no appreciable reason to go beyond the 70s or so besides extremely minor advantages or minigame rewards (cough dungeoneering cough). Every single skill needs to be like herblore is now- train to high levels and get very helpful untradable rewards. I would love, for example, some sort of smithing update that lets us improve upon existing armors (think (or) kits but with stat bonuses and done with the smithing skill and some raw materials rather than a kit). Well I get the impression from what I read, and most topics start with needing new bosses/equipment, etc. But I find it funny how you guys believe Jagex has no plans for high level updates. Do you seriously think Jagex will just fill content from 1-70 and leave 71-99 blank? I doubt it tbh. Even if they did, I wouldn't have a problem, because I'd still have access to it. This leads me to think you guys want exclusive content to boost your E-gos. If you want that, then buy a phat and a christmas cracker.
  14. I have given plenty examples of famous Chinese architecture, and I've yet to see any examples from you. So why don't you get started on that, eh?
  15. If we stop being vocal, we'll be that much easier to ignore. The fact is, most skills have nothing interesting to do in the top 50-70%, which is ridiculously poor game planning. Imagine a console game with kickass bosses and new weapons for the first couple of levels, and then you have to spend over double that amount of time doing pointless fetch quests without gaining meaningful new abilities or items all the way to the anticlimactic end. This is an issue that will affect everyone that doesn't quit in a few months of playing. We complain because this is the most pressing problem in the game at the moment, and Jagex needs to face that eventually. If years of complaining is what it takes, so be it. It's not like we're hurting anyone. It's not like they're done with the game. It's not like they'll NEVER add new content, you'll just have to wait. You know who have waited even longer than you and the rest of elitist boss hunters? People who enjoy smithing! That skill has basically remained the SAME since the beginning of time. But hey, I don't see them creating topics all over Gen. Discussion complaining about how there isn't an update to smithing. I know there are rumors going around about a big uphaul, and that's long overdue. Then take a look at all the content you've gotten during that time. GWD, Corp, TDs, frosties, all these great moneymakers (esp the last 2) so you can buy those top class equipment. What more could you want? I guess it all depends on how you word it, right? When I think of people who have a handful of content to enjoy, but constantly ask for more, I think spoiled brats. And the problem with your first line is you don't have legitimate concerns. LOL one update every year, just LOL. During the past 3 years, dating back to 2007, there have been GWD, Corp, WGS + TDs, overloads, ancient curses, dungeoneering, elite diaries, warped floors, etc. That's definately one update every year. The warped floors JUST came out, and the complaining already starts again. Why don't you start complaining after you can access warped? Before you start saying "oh well look at how much content low levels have gotten! waaaaah! !" I go back to the fact the majority of players are low level, therefore they deserve more content. Jagex isn't going to abandon low levels, and cater only to high levels, they have to keep low levels happy, because that's where they get most of their money. You don't pay more for membership because you're 130+, or less because you're only level 50, everyone pays the same.
  16. If tomorrow Jagex released an armour set that required 120 dungeoneering to aquire and use, I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't be against it either. It won't affect me at all. I find it humorous that everyone who wants high-level content complains on a daily basis. Hey, I want exclusive content too, namely for construction, but you don't see me going around telling everyone how much I deserve to have a 50 room dungeon with all the coolest monsters and traps in it, and putting it everywhere. So why don't YOU grow up? I believe that all players should have content tailor-made for their level range. As it stands, low and mid-level players are totally inundated with content while high-level players have very, very little. I believe this should be rectified so that ALL of us have something to do at our levels. I don't see how this completely reasonable and logical viewpoint could be immature in the slightest. However, opposing this viewpoint is very obviously an extremely childish way of thinking. This is irrefutable. I know what you guys believe, and I'm not even against it . High level content is great, but still, high levels are the minority. Jagex has to cater to the masses, and they're doing a good job of that. But it's not like Jagex has completely left high levels in the dark, right? So why do high levels continuously complain/whine about Jagex efforts? I'm not saying your ideas are childish and immature, I'm saying the amount of constant complaining and whining seems that way, doesn't it? When you think of people who complain alot, the first you think about is spoiled kids. That's the impression I get from high levels on this board. Also, judging from the posts comparing different rune/mystic sets, am I correct in assuming you want different versions of the chaotic rapier, bandos armour? Why is that even necessary? You have the best equipment in such a catagory, isn't that enough?
  17. [hide] That's so lame <_< Lame you say? This is lame: Cbow only protects over like 2 statues [/hide] Hah, that is lame. So, what about other PvP special drops? Like brawlers/ armour, etc. Anything I should watch for?
  18. If tomorrow Jagex released an armour set that required 120 dungeoneering to aquire and use, I wouldn't hate it. I wouldn't be against it either. It won't affect me at all. 19. Makes you wonder why they complain. It does make me wonder. I have, before, given a list of updates in the past several months, and on it, there were plenty of exclusive high level content. So, pray, tell me why these elitists continue to ask for more bosses, more high end equipment, etc?
  20. What's the protect value of a Cmaul compared to the statues? Is it just straight up cash value for protecting statues? I'm asking this because I want to PK with a cmaul but I don't want to loot a statue that's 250k only to be rushed and killed to lose my maul.
  21. I don't have problems against high level content, I do however, have problems with high levels who continuously complain for more content.
  22. It's interesting that people are so determined to knock this project. I would like to revisit this in a few years. Yes, I'm sure there will be some problems, but such issues are essentially inherent into the construction of any building, no matter the size or speed at which is was assembled. My theory is that people are insecure, and fearful about their position in the world. There are several Indians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Pakistanis, any number of people, that could all do your job, and likely better than you, if they were given the chance. However, they will not get that chance, for merit of their poverty, skin colour, or nationality. With greater globalization (which is inevitable, whatever the left/right would like to say) there will be greater equality. It's not going to be a leveling up for us, no matter the value that Thomas Friedman wishes to place on skilled labor and "roll-up-your-sleeves" work ethic. It has actually been surprisingly easy for me to reconcile with the fact that I will not be able to take from the world as much as the members of the previous generation did. I hope that I'm never so greedy as to turn my back on the principles of equality, or so sure of my country's superiority over others to wait, fascinated, with the sadistic hope that my pretensions of superiority will be confirmed. Ok. Once you have obtained a job, you may speculate about "the world." Until then, you don't have a valid approach. And I agree with Dupin, even if I would personally bump the time table up about 6 days a faster. To the underlined part, that is just plain wrong. Things built in China are utter [cabbage], and due to your lack of experience in the world, just in general, shows itself more clearly now. These building flaws do not happen in say, oh I don't know, America, Europe. China is trying to cut corners, and eventually they'll cut something they wish they hadn't. [/hide] Mate, have you ever been to China before? Have you seen the buildings? Take the 2008 Olympics for an example, all the building were top of the class, safe and sound, cleverly designed. Don't talk [cabbage] about someone you've never seen before, k? Don't take the one-sided news you Americans recieve, its called propoganda, and I guess it's working. Why don't you get some experience on this subject before you start generalizing things. Well I know more than you think I know, so I guess I can talk [cabbage]. By the way, Canada boy, you don't know where I get my news from, so don't pretend to, mmmk? Heh heh it's funny what that guy said to you... Does he not know that all those top class buildings are empty? LMAO! Your ignorance truly amazes me. I hope defending my country from false claims is not considered flaming or mindless jabs.
  23. Which is not the point I was getting at. The show that any country puts on for the Olympics is nothing like what a country is actually like. The whole point is to impress the rest of the world. Usually it goes further than that and no one region of a country is the same as another. Beijing is more than likely nothing like any other given area of China just as Detroit and Edmonton are nothing like other parts of The United States or Canada. So what if it's nothing like the rest of the country? I'm not talking about China being uber wealthy and everyone is living comfortably, I'm talking about architecture, bonkers (saru) said the Chinese buildings were nothing like North American/ European building and I'm proving him wrong. What's wrong with using the Bird's Nest & other Olympic buildings as an example? I said Saru was subject to propoganda because I assume he gets all the information on how bad China is from his country's media, he is free to prove me wrong by telling me where he gets his information, and not by saying "you don't know where I get my news from, mmmmk?". I'm not about to debase myself to that level, nice try though. And here's a fun fact, you can live in a country and know nothing about it, International boy. And here's a not so fun fact, arguements need examples to be backed up. All you've said is things build in China are utter crap, and North America and Europe is obviously better. Also I do know about my country, ok "American boy?" Do YOU know about YOUR country? If you do, then you shouldn't be saying your buildings are better.
