I dislike the mentality that an episode is filler if it doesn't advance the current story that much. Get a better appreciation for the art of storytelling, for crying out loud. I like to drool over Claire as much as the next guy, and action scenes are still awesome, but hot chicks and explosions aren't what make a show or movie. This episode gave us some CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, for the previously negligible Meredith and Flint, as well as some critical insight into Gabriel's transition to Sylar the Psychotic Killer. It was also an interesting juxtaposition when the grey-haired Company dude (can't remember his name) let Meredith go, because he was portrayed as a bad guy in the first season and Noah blew his brains out. Plus we saw into Arthur's story and his plotting with Linderman, which was the whole damn point of the episode. It was kind of necessary to explain how the hell Arthur ended up alive in a hospital bed after he was assumed dead. I guess this is why I continue to love Lost long after half the world has given up on it. I half hope some of you people won't be satisfied with Heroes, because that means it hasn't become some mindless serial version of a crap superhero movie.
  2. I'm looking forward more to the Hendrix stuff, and even more to the RACONTEURS. YES. Although Mr. Brightside has the potential to be really fun. I can play the melody on a real guitar and it seems like an easy translation. If they make them all [garden tool]/po's, that would be awesome. Regular notes would be tiring but still fun.
  3. That's the one thing in this world that pisses me off to no end. Some punk in a tuner or other similarly small car decides to ruin their engine so it makes a loud noise. It's like getting a stick shift when you haven't spent your entire life driving with it - it's ridiculous and unnecessary. Not to mention, in many cases it actually means your car is running worse. If I ever own a little car, it'll run quiet and smooth, like the car-God meant. I agree with this. What is the point of making your engine run loud when it isn't running well. Jumped-up ignoramuses. This is what should be my car, if my dad ever got around to fixing it: That was my sig here for a few days when I was trying to win that contest . . . came in like 4th.
  4. For the record, I wasn't referring to the thread subject. But I guess no one really cares anyway. I think any kind of scene hairstyle on a twelve-year-old would be ridiculous and hilarious. Do it.

I am very afraid for Hiro. I wonder if Arthur will twist his head off or just take his power. But does he know that Hiro's power is time/space manipulation? Can he take powers he doesn't know about? All the tie-ins were very Lost-like. Me likey.
  8. FC = Full Combo = 100% with no overstrums (which would make you lose your x4 multiplier.)
  9. FINALLY. Re-Education (Through Labor) FC and I made a vid! qcE4OpE9Py4 First vid on Youtube ftw. EDIT: Oh, and like I said in the description, LMAO at the end. Dropping the camera. I felt like such a dunce. To be fair it was sitting on top of one of those rocking gaming chairs, so it wasn't entirely stable.

I recently re-watched season 2 via the DVD and have a few things on my mind. First of all, I want to know what the hell happened to West. As far as I know Claire and her family are still in Costa Verde, so where in the world is her flying boyfriend. I'm not particularly fond of him, but c'mon, he shouldn't just drop off the face of the earth. The last we saw of him was when Claire gave him his company file and he flew away. Now Claire's off hunting down highly dangerous Level 5 baddies, and he's still nowhere to be found? SUPERFICIAL. And then there was Candice. I had no clue what had happened to her until I realized that the red-haired chick who was taking care of Sylar's wounds was actually her. She went from what seemed like shape-shifting to full-blown illusions and it threw me off. Bad writing there. And now she's dead. Okay, so Nikki really is dead and Tracy is a different person completely. That doesn't mean you can relegate Micah to a near cameo and drop Monica. Blah. Finally, I found the whole "I have to change the future so that I can save Caitlin" thing Peter had going on just plain stupid. If you change the future the one she's trapped in won't exist, idiot. And then she became yet another character consigned to oblivion. This show sucks at giving people closure. And then I watched the alternate ending. Basically, season 2 was planned to be a full season of 20-odd episodes and play out very differently, but when the writer's strike came along the ending we saw was written to wrap the season up early. It comes down to one difference: the vial that Adam dropped right before Hiro teleported him away hit the ground. The rest of season 2, and I think Volume 2 (not sure about that, it could have easily still gone on to Volume 3) would have been about containing the virus. The final scene of episode 11 was almost exactly the same, except instead of revealing his powers Nathan was telling the world about the quarantine and instead of being shot he fell down sick. There were some scenes from the unfinished episode 12 already completed and on the DVD. Most of them were about Elle hunting down Sylar, which was pretty cool actually. Sylar still got his powers back in the alternate ending and so he was killing again. There was a cool scene in which Elle goes to Noah for help, and he basically screws with her mind and starts to worm between her and Bob. There was also one scene from episode 13, which was Angela's two dream scenes almost exactly from the current season merged together and with two major differences. Instead of seeing Nathan and Tracy dead she saw DL and Micah, and instead of Arthur coming up to her it was Sylar. I found it interesting to see how different yet how similar season 2 would have played out without the strike, and then to what extent it would have changed season 3. Thoughts on whether it would have been better or worse? I think the one we have now is pretty damn good, and I dunno if season 2, infamous as it is, being stretched out more would have been healthy for the show.

Which turned out not to be a mistake at all. Someties I don't know if I love that, or hate it with a burning passion. Then dizzle, if you don't want to get rid of it, at least change it to "spling speling spelling" This. Grammar =/= spelling. And spelling is the thing you are complaining about. And definitions is the area where you made an error. Oh the irony! Bad spelling can get annoying, but unless it's absolutely atrocious and compounded with actual poor grammar it shouldn't be difficult to understand. And nitpicking over the smallest errors is ridiculous. Even I couldn't tell you some of the more obscure rules of grammar, and if I make a mistake it's probably because I was unfamiliar with proper usage. I do confess to having suicidal urges when I read "could care less." Worse than "should of" in my opinion.
  12. You two are on different wavelengths. That seems to happen a lot in general. And it bugs me. Yay contribution to the thread.
  13. Re-Education (Through Labor) was being stubborn and wouldn't get FC'ed. Missed a note toward the end in an unexpected part and then proceeded to choke long before it every time I tried again. Also failed to FC Hotel California and Misery Business. Did get Beautiful Disaster though.
  14. I had just left the house with my brother in the passenger seat on our way to a scout meeting when my cell rings. I give it to my bro to answer, and it's my mom calling to tell us to turn around 'cuz he forgot something. So I pull a fast brake and turn into a gravel driveway to turn around. There's some woman like twenty feet away walking her dog, and she starts yelling and gesticulating at us. What, did I mess up your driveway? It's made of gravel, woman.

Played it quite a bit at a friend's house last night. I joined a Live session of Horde on wave ten, and over the next two or three hours we made it to wave 20, where we were getting owned. My friend was offered a job of playing GOW1 competitively, so apparently it's that ridiculous. Played a bit of co-op campaign as well. It's decent. The missions seem too drawn-out and boring at times, but usually stay fun.
  16. Back when they were deciding how they were going to elect our president they couldn't agree on the an electoral college of sorts to choose or the people to choose. So they compromised and let us vote, then left the rest up to the electoral college. I'm pretty sure if everybody knew how the electoral college works they would be all for getting rid of it. But I think it might be written into the Constitution :-k What does that matter? Change the stupid constitution. I don't get why people think that the constitution is some sort of untouchable thing that rules over all. And the electoral college is not democratic, there are ways of winning with less votes. I hate that system, it's full of faults. Because the only way to change the Constitution is by an amendment (which IS written in it) and that takes a ton of work to pass. It's pretty much taken the back seat in current politics because we have more pressing concerns. And deloria's explanation isn't exactly correct. The Electoral College was created because in the eighteenth century there was no way for the common man, even glorified as he was at that time, to be up-to-date on current issues or even completely familiar with presidential candidates, and therefore could not make the ideal informed decision. So the College was created as a safety feature, with informed electors voting the way their states did but also with the option to vote the other way if they believe the people have made a greivous error. Which has only happened once or twice in the history of the US. No, it is not entirely democratic, but neither is America. OUr country was originally intended by the Founding Fathers to be a pure republic, and decades of compromise eventually led to the democratic republic we have today.
  17. In that particular situation, those two are the worst. You can't see a thing with amp overload and it pretty much kills your ability to hit the notes accurately. Broken string takes longer to fix than whammy and messes me up more, having to crazily tap a fret. Plus it's not a good idea to stop playing completely when you're getting like 10 nps. Lefty Flip is no big deal, especially in that section where all it is is four note slides. Just start right and you'll be fine. And I've never gotten double notes on that part.
  18. You, my friend, along with several other people, have earned the gold badge of utter sarcasm detector failure. Someone had to say it.
  19. I was gonna say, it's the first attack. Use it as soon as your first solo ends, and Lou will pretty much insta-fail on the string of greens he has. It's a pain getting the circumstances to come out right though: Lou gets an attack that doesn't totally screw you over (amp overload and broken string are the worst), you manage to hit your attack phrase, it's a whammy, and you use it at the right time. Then you have to play the outro.
  20. I certainly hope your English is bad, or did I just hear you say that the murder of thousands of innocent people by those cold blooded, psychotic, murdering bastard fanatics was a glorious moment in history? That moment was as horrible as this one is glorious. Opposite extremes.
  21. New England? All those states combined have about as many votes as a big swing state. Excluding New York. It's still pretty much over (Obama winning Ohio was the clincher (GO OHIO)) but then it's really not.
  22. Nom Anor, Executor. Among the first of the Yuuzhan Vong to invade the galaxy, by way of espionage. Critical character in the New Jedi Order arc. Yes, I am talking about Star Wars.
  23. You're right, the college's votes are the only ones that actually elect the president, but they have always voted the way their state has. Exactly, they really have no choice. Each state is worth a certain amount of electoral votes (I think based on population, but I could be wrong) and if a candidate wins in a state, he/she gets those electoral votes. IF 8th grade history is to be believed. They actually do have a choice. There's nothing in the Constitution (and I don't think any laws) that forbids them from voting for another nominee, but no Electors have voted against their states. And you're right, the number of electoral votes a state has is based on population. There has actually been a case or two when the electors went a different way, I believe. Having to do with their personal moral opinions and all. People really don't understand the electoral college. At this point it is rather obsolete, but that does not make the principle on which it was created unsound. But there is always that little hitch where a candidate can win the popular vote but not the college vote. Which has happened a few times as well.
  24. The Tool songs are all so easy. Schism is a likely canditate for an FC soon, if I can nail that [bleep]ery at the end. Speaking of [bleep]ery, I missed FC'ing Livin' On A Prayer because the solo caught me by surprise. I hate descending triplets. -2. Bah. FC's so far: About A Girl, Obstacle 1, The One I Love, Today, What I've Done, Monsoon, and Float On. All really easy. Hoping to FC Hotel California soon. And others, but I forget which charts are easiest lol.
  25. I forgot about that song  Eh, I can listen to it. I agree that there were many good B-sides that should have been on the album. If I remember right the Snow ((Hey Oh)) EP had the best ones.
