So I just watched a video for bass on BYOB. Holy [cabbage].

Not a fan of titling poetry explicitly like that. It takes away from the reader's freedom to interpret. Other than that . . . Nice. Makes you think, which us what poetry should do. Although some of that may be less interpretive challenge than iffy wording.

"Baby Killer" given life sentence
"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind." It's a good quote, but it doesn't prove anything. An eye for an eye is a great system. The only trouble is this: What if the person turns out to be innocent? An eye for an eye can work, but not until investigation technology gets to the point where it's impossible to get an innocent person. The idea is that society has evolved past the barbarian stage. And that quote was from Gandhi. You don't mess with Mahatma Gandhi.

Lol, about time. I think we're at about 120 pages including those lost in the rollback. GH thread > God thread. Win.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
My BS detector went code red. My irony detector exploded. Where's Reb? He needs to give his potential rapist detector a shot at this.

Freedom of Speech
Ugh . . . I don't know how many times this line has to be parroted before people finally get it: Your rights end when they infringe upon the rights of another. You can say whatever the hell you want. If it becomes harmful, you're a [wagon] and action will be taken.

"No God" adverts to run on bendy buses in London
Guys, you can't not teach evolution in school. It's the cornerstone of Biology. That whole branch of science makes no sense without evolution, therefore it is accepted and taught.

Happy Mol Day!
I had a Biology exam today. Yay providence.

There are plenty of people good enough to play Expert. Having 20+ FC's and passing TTFAF is another matter. Someone who can do that on GH3, with its insane difficulty, is just going to be disappointed with new installments. Period. I'm sure DLC will provide some "challenge." Also Diesel brings up a good point. You can't whine about the guitar difficulty when there are now other aspects to the game that the creators have to look for. Have a go at drums, try out the new bass mechanics (which look freaking sweet). Try singing. I know I will.

Maybe because GH3 was ridiculously hard and anyone who can do extremely well on it, which is most people on this thread, will not find new songs challenging unless they surpass GH3's difficulty. Which was extreme. Therefore, not going to happen. I think you have to keep in mind that GH has a massive casual audience that is no where near the skill level of those few "elite." That would be us. People at Saidn's level are even fewer. So, in short, get over it.

"No God" adverts to run on bendy buses in London
Saying that "thinking is anathema to religion" is a pretty huge blanket statement and a rather ignorant one. It doesn't take someone of the obvious brilliance of Dawkins to say that, nor to realize that it is simply untrue. The context he uses it in is also rather funny. An ad on a bus is going to stay in someone's head for more than three seconds? Forget "making people think" and then, because of the obvious corollary, reject religion. The ad will never accomplish that simply because it will be invisible, and easily dismissed when noticed. Even religious nuts who do take issue over it are on principle not going to convert.

The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely album My dad brought this home from a guy at work. Aside from the incredible inconvenience of getting it all organized in iTunes from a flash drive, it's brilliant.

How many hours do you play games a day/week/month etc?
How did you guess :twss: Gonna have an all-day session with DaDieselDude and some other friends . . . hopefully. Assuming I can get a copy of the game.

How many hours do you play games a day/week/month etc?
Jeez, people. I spend maybe an hour a day when I can play at all on weekdays, two hours tops. Weekends can vary from none to like 3. Or in the case of this coming Monday, 6 or 7. But that's a special case.

HEROES SPOILER!!
Maybe they're scared of him because . . . he's a really bad dude? I mean, he obviously has a reputation. People are scared of Sylar because he slices their skulls off. Who's to say Mr. Petrelli isn't as bad or worse with his powers? Also, I don't know if you can really say how the regeneration keeps Adam alive. The aging process is pretty much a mystery, no one knows why our bodies start to die. So it's possible that the regeneration only kept aging at bay, and once it was gone the long-overdue process set in.

The Mainstream
Metaphors are a beautiful thing. Unless they're used crappily. If you're going to use a metaphor to that extent, go all the way. Don't confuse people by inserting random flashes of what you're really talking about into a metaphor involving marine life. Make it a short, parable-like anecdote, or use a simple simile or two while talking real language that people can keep their heads above water in. Pun intended. EDIT: To add something else besides a language peeve . . . mainstream music isn't synonymous with "bad," nor is underground stuff automatically better than the more widely listened to stuff. Topics like this usually rub me as being the product of non-conforming elitism. Yes, I just made up a term. Sue me.

Rahil, and the Rebellion
Yeah, I don't think it's generally a good idea, or even at all acceptable, to use exclamation marks in prose, with maybe a few exceptions (like representative of a character's thoughts.) Leave them for the dialogue. And there are way too many of them in there, too. Sorry, man, but there is almost zero chance that you will find someone willing to overlook the prose aspect. Especially when it's riddled with errors.

Alt strumming makes it easier on the hand . . . ? I guess it was already released in the UK. Comes out on Sunday here in the states, and there are no copies left for preorder :x

HEROES SPOILER!!
Mr. Petrelli's power = holycrapnotgood. A less . . . refined version of Peter's power. And Peter doesn't have his anymore. Does that mean his dad has his original ability to absorb powers as well? It must, because otherwise Peter would suck all the powers right back up. Unless Peter absorbed his dad's power and somehow kept that, maybe because Mr. Petrelli can't take what he already has . . . Okay, ramble over. I'm a bit tired of Peter constantly losing his powers. I mean, he understandably needs a handicap because otherwise he would just freaking own everything, but he never does any owning at all.

HEROES SPOILER!!
I was mad that he died, I thought he had potential. It was a bit of a wtf moment when the only villain to get out of the bank situation was the black guy (can't remember his name.) That was before I realized that there were a crapload of other ones though.
