LOST: The Final Season
Of the main cast, Frank, Claire, and Miles haven't had a centric. And Ilana didn't before she went kaboom. I dunno, I got a weird sort of vibe from this episode. It should have been awesome for me, and I guess it was, but there's just . . . something. Maybe it was the directing.

LOST: The Final Season
I heard a theory that I really like and makes a lot of sense. Perhaps Eloise engineered the AR in order to keep Daniel, because in the OR she knew she would accidentally kill him. Whatever happened, happened. So instead of trying to change things in the OR, she made sure Faraday went through with his plan so that the AR would be created where he was still alive and well. She seems to have a freaky awareness of both realities and all times, so she would be able to enjoy her "reward." Now Desmond's going to screw it up for her. What a great episode.

I was Exp. Share training my brother's team at Mt. Silver because he let them fall way behind and I ran into a shiny Tangela  Red's team is ridiculously high levelled, they're all in the 80s. That's a bit of a jump from the originals. I definitely have to train some more.

The Gathering Storm is the best Wheel of Time book since Fires of Heaven, with the possible exception of Winter's Heart. I started reading Mordant's Need by Donaldson today. It's okay. His prose is pretty iffy and I hated the twenty page infodump, but I'm still reading because the concepts and characters have potential. But to get away from fantasy, I'll be starting All the King's Men soon. So far in AP Lit this semester we've read: Pride and Prejudice: Hated it. With a passion. Wuthering Heights: Much more my style. Way better written too. I'm a fan. A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man: Hated it. With a passion. I did go on a bit of an imagery kick with my own writing after reading it though. The Bell Jar: Pretty good. Bright Lights, Big City: Also pretty good. So far 2.5 for 5. Portrait counts for negative .5.

The lighthouse redesign threw me for a loop too, but I figured it out  I beat Lance by a miracle . . . only party member above level 40 was Feraligatr. But now I have a Togekiss with serene grace

Eragon worth reading?
I don't know whether to be offended or just laugh. You don't know me, dude. The fact that we're discussing fantasy should preclude anyone even bringing up "no imagination." Really . . . Also, to modify my statement: that's all I remember of the characters, and it's not my job to make them memorable. It's the author's. You just described each race in its entirety. You don't see a problem with being able to describe an entire race of people with two universal adjectives? If the characters in the book see a Drasnian, they are suspicious. Sounds like racial profiling to me. For one thing, prophecies suck if handled badly. They take away all tension. Regardless, the prophecy essentially names one person from each race, which ties itself up in the travelogue plot and makes it feel as if anyone at all could have been named as long as they were from the right race. And it's been a while since I read the books, so I looked these up: Barak is a clan chief, captain, and cousin to a king; Lelldorin is a noble (son of a Baron); Mandorallen is a Baron. Taiba is pretty much the last of her race so it doesn't matter with her and Relg is one of the elite diviner dudes. So if not specifically in line for a throne, they have a prominence of some sort that places them apart from the rest of their race and is pretty much their only defining feature. Actually, Relg is kind of interesting with his holier-than-thou complex, but I don't remember if that went anywhere. And that's it. I don't remember anything about any of the others, besides Mandorallen being annoying with his overkill honor thing.

I picked up the omnibus edition of that series for four bucks, haven't gotten around to reading it. My to-read list is looooonnnnng.

If I could ever find book 5 of the Dark Tower series I'd finish it. For some reason it's being very elusive at Half Price Books.

Eragon worth reading?
Sure, but he never moved past it besides the "unlikely hero saves the world" shtick. Not original or compelling character development. I never saw anything in the characters besides: the sneaky one, the strongman, the Wise Old Mentor, the uppity regal woman (two of those!) etc. The thing that really grinds me about this particular case is that most of them are representatives of their nations, and they could easily be replaced by anyone else of their nationality, because Eddings has profiled them all as having the same characteristics: these guys are sneaky, these guys are strong, etc. Which is not only ridiculous but slightly racist. The only thing that places our characters apart is the fact that they are all royalty. Hey, another cliche. And that's part of the worldbuilding problem. And you're right, I just don't find anything compelling about traveling to every single durned place on that hand-drawn map on the inside cover.

Eragon worth reading?
Garion's total idiocy, the lack of any characters with dimensions other than stereotypes, the lackluster worldbuilding, and the travelogue plot. What I can think of off the top of my head.

Eragon worth reading?
Ok, I read The Belgariad because so many people on these forums recommend those books (two since the thread has been bumped!) and they suck. Like, almost as much as Eragon. Seriously.

FOX announces award winning '24' will have its last season.
The show's not terrible but it's had too long of a lifetime. There's only so many times you can rehash a plot and only so many ridiculous situations Jack Bauer can survive.

I know this is three (!) years old, and Abelmisi has probably already read it, but the answer to the thread question: [bleep] no.

Had the same thing with my Eevee. Finally got an Espeon though. And it won't know any psychic moves for four more levels. Fail. I think what was messing with me was that I hadn't walked with it enough. Ride around on your bike like you're trying to hatch an egg.

Silver, it's why I had a Vulpix in the first place. But, MAGMAR?! Hell yes. I didn't know you could get him so early.

Decided to drop my Vulpix in the Day Care while I trained my Eevee for an Espeon (still hasn't evolved, refuses to like me) and it replaced Flamethrower with Safeguard. FML. Any ideas for a replacement fire type?

Togetic at level 24 FTW. Became a replacement for my Hoothoot because its attack stats were abysmal. I'm in Cianwood right now and my team is starting to lag, besides Flaaffy, who just shredded everything on the way from Olivine. Training this Vulpix is a pain.

LOST: The Final Season
This is kind of funny, since I and probably a lot of others think that Jack is finally being a cool dude rather than a whiny control freak. You just watched the entire series in like a week, and I'm sure that has an effect. Like the cage scenes at the beginning of S3, six episodes worth of that when they were airing once a week was torture, but watching on DVD makes them a lot more bearable. Dunno if you noticed anything about those eps or not. Season 6 rocks. Now that it's out in the open, I'm pumped for Richard next week too.

LOST: The Final Season
Yeah I loved that they brought up Nikki and Paolo again, sucky as they were. I laughed when the camera panned to Miles inspecting a diamond at the end. Last two episodes have been fantastic I think, especially Dr. Linus. Micheal Emerson is God. When he said, "Because he's the only one who'll have me" to Ilana, it was heartbreaking. I also love Crazy Claire. Her singing in the pit was so creepy.
