1. This might sound like a stupid hasty judgment but I thought the season 3 premiere was better than 80% of season 2. They got the pacing about as good as it can be and pacing was my main problem with last season. Having a character be present in a single two minute scene per episode is bad. Longer scenes with fewer characters = good. Also, I am so ready for Dany to do awesome shit now instead of the abortion that was Qarth. Book and show alike, Qarth sucked. Bring on Slaver's Bay.
2. I had the same experience. Especially since so many of them decided to watch it instead of Game of Thrones (why?) which, incidentally, was awesome. I only watched the first few episodes of The Walking Dead before I got bored. Nowhere near the quality of Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Gonna go post in the GoT thread now bai.
3. Wow have I really been reading those books for five years? I'm old. ...And one book has come out in that time -_- DAMMIT GEORGE
4. Well all this happened in high school and he was two years older. I believe he then went to Cornell which may explain why he dropped off the face of the Earth.
5. It was on one of those school threads where we talkd about our schedules and whatnot, back when Tip.It was really uptight about IRL info. I thought what he was describing sounded suspiciously similar to my school so I messaged him. The rest is history. Weirdest. Thing. Ever. Then later I guessed something correctly on Forum Games and he had to bring me a real cookie. And all that was five years ago hot damn.
6. Yup. Still am. Our love transcends time. I also discovered Rebdragon and I had been sitting next to each other in class without realizing it. Most bizarre circumstances ever. Now that's a guy who's disappeared.
7. About once every month or so I come back here, sometimes without logging in. Barely recognize anyone anymore. Don't post because no one will remember me/care, probably because I joined when I was 14 and therefore sucked. I have suspicions that nothing has changed. But they will remain only that, suspicions. Edit: Also, somehow my avatar disappeared. It's like you're trying to erase me.
8. Pretty much all she wanted to hear. They love testing you like that.

Thanks guys :) The life-size one unfortunately broke. Lesson learned: dowel rods can't do everything.

Sculpture!

Hey guys, I've been recently getting back into art to the point that I'm majoring in it, and I thought I'd post some of the stuff I've done in the last year here. I took two sculpture courses so that's what you'll find here, plus my personal guitar painting project.

[/not a digital artist]
11. RHCP - Even You, Brutus? [bleep] I love this album. There are like 2 songs I don't care for and the rest are great.
12. ...I'm kind of super surprised at the massive skinniness going on in this thread. Like a lot of you people must be skin and bones. I don't care about my weight but I do care about my appearance. I think I weigh 170 ish lbs at 6'. I've lost about 10 lbs in the past year. I'm pretty happy with how I look and will continue eating/exercising to maintain it. I got kind of fat for a few years so I won't let that happen again. Plus not eating junk just makes you feel so much better.
13. ... So. Not. Fair. You haven't even read them all lol. Closest he came to me was Indy. Gah.
14. The Ring: Eh, it was artful, but kind of silly. Enjoyable enough. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist: Such a hipster movie. Good in a lighthearted way. Angels and Demons: Wayyyyy better than the Da Vinci Code. Probably because it was an honest movie about corruption (oxymoron?) rather than stupid conspiracy [cabbage]. American Beauty: Hm. Didn't immediately fall in love like I have with other Alan Ball stuff. I think a rewatch is necessary.
15. Well this TV season is just the first book. It gets better as it goes on. I am about 60% of the way through book three and oh man, some good parts here... The ending parts of A Storm of Swords are some of the best things I have ever read, period.
16. I haven't seen the latest episode yet but ep 5 was extremely awesome. The show's starting to hit its stride.
17. I'm really happy with the show so far except for thinking it could be paced a little slower in some places. There are so many characters, it wouldn't hurt to do some lingering scenes. I liked the added scene between Robert, Jaime and Barristan for that reason. And I agree Syrio is fantastic. Probably my favorite casting is Joffrey. Perfect douchey little kid.
18. You know how they have that courtyard thingy in the movie version of Hogwarts? It looks like they're falling from the clock tower to that place. Which is where the final confrontation will take place instead of the Great Hall. Big whoop. It's the same general idea. Looks awesome.
19. As a fan of dramatic TV, I have to say that I think this is wrong. You are indeed looking in the wrong place if you can't find TV shows that are artful--and being artful includes having a proper ending. Yes, network television is designed with catering to the lowest common denominator in mind--usually. But there are shows that have set their sights higher, and had real endings. And to find the best of the best, there is always cable: The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, etc. are all great shows that have ended on their terms. But then, there are still cable shows, like Deadwood and Carnivale, that have been canceled prematurely, because the audience still plays a part. There are plenty of books that never get published because the publishers don't think they're marketable; TV is different in that it gives more room for experimentation. Put a show on for a season, see if it works, if not, axe. Same idea of pleasing the audience, but different medium with different ways of doing so. It may be less fair to the audience, but it can still produce some amazing stuff, so I'm not complaining.

Meds

It boggles my mind hearing about the amount of synthesized [cabbage] people put into their bodies on a regular basis. I get a stomach flu or strep like once a year, let it run its course, and spend the rest of my time happy and healthy. I mean, painkillers I understand, because headaches can be brutal, and menstrual cramps, injuries, etc. that keep you from functioning normally. But that should be the exception rather than the rule. I don't get it. Maybe I'm just lucky.
21. I'm going for a swim in the river on Saturday. It's going to be about 10 degrees F and there's snow on the ground. Gonna need to find some bears afterward.
22. Got my hands on a $2 ticket for tomorrow. Going to see it with a bunch of college kids at a college that is known for being geeky and looking like Hogwarts =
