Yes there is, don't publish the article. If an article is that bad, then it shouldn't be presented in the Tip.It Times. I have no control over what gets published.

Tip.it Times March 7 2010
Regarding the editing complaints, as editor I feel obliged to state that many of the mistakes present were actually addressed but for whatever reason slipped through the cracks when it was published. I didn't get the chance to review the final version before it was submitted. Authors don't always take the advice of editors and there's nothing I can do about that.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Well, I watched District 9 and thought it was great, might be a favorite. Not exactly what I was expecting though. Saw Alice in Wonderland in 3-D. I wasn't expecting anything terribly original or groundbreaking from a kid's movie but the plot surprised me by exactly how cliche--and completely unrelated to the book--it ended up being. Still fun to watch and the 3-D was cool.

Least Favorite Midwest State
Nebraska. I actually started feeling vertigo driving through it. Depressingly flat, cornfields for ever and ever and EVER. Although Ohio drivers do suck [wagon].

American Education and Foreign Language Learning
Americans are geographically isolated and we already speak the most widely used language (for now and excepting Chinese.) Living in Europe is a different experience, where countries with their own language and culture are smaller than one American state and butt right up to other countries with totally different languages and cultures. I mean, we have Mexico, so if anything the practical language to learn would be Spanish, but unless you're going to be an international businessman there's no reason to learn another language, really. Plus the majority of Americans are convinced their country is the best in the world, and it's hard to tell them otherwise when they're separated from Europe and Asia by two huge oceans. People don't want to bother with a foreign language when Canadians speak English and Central/South Americans are held in contempt because of illegal immigration or plain racism. It's nice to be educated, though.

What movie(s) did you last see?
I saw The Crazies on Saturday and then Pulp Fiction later that night. Crazies was alright, I'm not too into thriller/horror and it bored me in some places. Pulp Fiction though, that was  Probably gonna watch District 9 tonight.

LOST: The Final Season
Terry O'Quinn being amazing with some great lines, Josh Holloway being almost as amazing with some great lines, Smokey POV, Ben at Locke's funeral, Locke and Hurley in the ALT, Locke and Ben in the ALT, Richard about to [cabbage] his pants . . . Then we have the answers: Smocke is trapped, was a man once, can't change his form any more, Jacob brought people to the island to replace him and that's why they're all there and what a candidate means, the numbers are related to the people and Jacob's plans, Smocke can't kill any of the candidates. What was so bad about it?

LOST: The Final Season
But it wasn't a [cabbage]ty episode at all.

LOST: The Final Season
The creators have debunked the "island is hell/purgatory/heaven/some-other-variation-of-the-losties-being-dead" theories multiple times. Unless you're suggesting that they're physically traveling to and from hell while still alive, which is rather weird.

LOST: The Final Season
Amazing episode. I missed the first five minutes and the last fifteen when it was airing because my TV sucks, and they turned out to be the best parts. Wow.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
I've never read the books . . . odd, considering I'm a fan of fantasy. Might have to check them out. P.S. Eragon sucks :P

LOST: The Final Season
Definitely wasn't the greatest episode, but man it is getting a LOT of hate. I'm happy with a lot of parts: Jack, Sawyer, Dogen, Claire, and the beginnings of an explanation for the sickness. But Kate was annoying and it moved slow. The alternate reality story was also rather ridiculous. Some random mechanic is chill enough to let Kate get away, Claire gets back in the cab with her, she somehow manages to drive that cab around for however long without getting caught. LA has some terrible cops.

LOST: The Final Season
So about halfway through the episode I was thinking it was a bit slow, then we get slammed with Sawyer and Kate on the dock, Jack being a BAMF and swallowing the poison (and Dogen being equally BAMF) and then CLAIRE. I was starting to think Rousseau's "sickness" from way back in season 1 was an unfortunate plot hole just from the way the show developed, but now it's actually starting to make sense. Her French team had the same thing happen to them as Claire and Sayid . . . Minus Montand, who just had his arm ripped off. So Claire died in her house explosion after all. I'm betting the same thing happened to Christian. Like whoa.

LOST: The Final Season
Premiere was amazing. Watched it with a few friends and it was a blast. I think there's more to this alternate reality than a "what-if' thing. See: Jack's hair, Cindy giving him one bottle instead of two, Rose not wearing Bernard's ring, no Shannon, DESMOND, etc. It's more than just the Pilot episode played out as if there was no crash. But, I'm with Range, I'm watching this season for the sheer joy of how awesome it will be. Locke/Smokey laying the smackdown on Bram's team? EPIC. Terry O'Quinn is amazing, he totally owns his new role. The MIB/Smokey comes across as seriously pissed off.

Our Future Professions
The sooner I can stop taking math classes the better. I like English. Get these numbers out of my face. I really want to do everything there is to do that involves creative writing. Novelist is my best bet, but serialized television is also very tantalizing, not to mention a bit more steady as far as employment goes what with being employed by networks and stuff. I'll probably be going for teaching qualifications as well. I'll be that crazy English teacher that everybody loves by day, writer by night. Screw sleep.

Book of Eli
Saw it with Diesel. Didn't think it was terrible, but the first half is way more compelling than the second. It just ended up degenerating into all these ridiculous reveals and started progressing super fast compared to the leisurely pace at the beginning. The religious symbolism was VERY over-the-top, and half of it doesn't really make much sense. Like the way a certain person died. You can tell they're getting at something, but there's not a solid enough connection for it to have any real impact. The first fight was indeed beautiful though.

LOST: The Final Season
Just 2 1/2 weeks to go until the premiere of the final season! (Because Lost > State of the Union.) I'm sure we will have lots to discuss. We have lots to discuss now. But, first, for anyone unacquainted with the show who doesn't mind being spoiled, here is an official summary of the first five seasons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIFL104E9Ts&feature=player_embedded And a fan-made video of the crash, 24-style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKcKtjrL5bc Spoilers for seasons 1-5 ahead now, so if you don't want them don't watch the video and don't keep reading  Seriously, don't. Ok. So. Did the bomb cause anything to change? Does whatever happened, happened hold true? Are we going to see an alternate reality? Do we want to see an alternate reality? Is Jacob really dead? Who the hell is the Man in Black and why did he kill Jacob? HOW WILL IT ALL END? Title of the first episode is: Spoiler tagged 'cuz I don't know what people consider spoilers or not. If there's no objection I'll remove it. So, what do you want from the final season? What do you NOT want? What do you think will happen? Soon!

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
This is what an RHCP game could be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Telc5iohl7Q I've been into making customs lately and this is my most recent. Kinda lulzy run but whatever. Haven't charted bass or drums yet, but they should both be pretty good.

New Jersey legalizes medical marijuana...and bans gay marriage
We do still have a holdover from that era. She works in the social studies department . . . And funny enough we could have easily gone to school the day we were off, but the day we weren't was a mess. Figures. None of this has anything to do with gay marriage or marijuana. You and I are getting married. Now it does.

New Jersey legalizes medical marijuana...and bans gay marriage
What is this incoherent babbling about a government conspiracy? I don't get it. Really, I don't. That middle sentence makes no sense.

Delete please
The first sentence/paragraph would benefit from breaking it into two. Too many commas. You repeated "in many ways" in the second paragraph. There is also a parallelism error: "the way the actors performed" is not structured the same as the rest of the list. "The actors' performances" would be better. Also, "production techniques" is rather vague, as production can refer to the entire process of making the film. "Direction" might work better. Assuming that sentence is your thesis, you should consider making sure the rest follows it more closely. As it is, it reads mostly like a plot summary. Each paragraph is basically a summary with a sentence-long analysis tacked on. It's consistent, but not in a good way. The analysis is too shallow. Choose a few of the strongest examples you have now and talk about them more in depth. I'm confused as to why the "in my opinion" thing is there at the end. It doesn't belong at all, because the essay's purpose is to show how the director has managed to drum up sympathy from the audience, not to present a viewpoint on whether the story is a miscarriage of justice. It's best to just use the default font color. You never know what skins people are using.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
I just hope this opens up possibilities for more band-centric games. I want an RHCP game nao.
