Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
There's nothing wrong with cutting out parts that would not translate well into movie format. The Harry Potter films have done a reasonably good job with the adaptations so far, with the exception of OotP. That movie was a travesty. I hate watching it. HBP, on the other hand, is my favorite of them all, so David Yates is 1 for 2. Hopefully he can pull the end off. Trailer looks promising.

Jungian personality typing
This time I got INFJ, with a 1% preference for Judging. Makes sense, I think I've gotten INFP before. But the description of INFJ is pretty accurate. Or not at all, if you're a psychology nut.

No Sex Please, We're Middle Class
What a piece of crap article. We shouldn't have to be sitting here trying to interpret what the author was saying. Sounded like a bunch of gibberish to me, honestly. Went from pseudo-historical to talking about Beyonce's ass and throbbing roosters in a Rolling Stones song . . . And it's about Viagra? Huh? You guys have fun.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
Vocals will apparently no longer require a controller. Supposedly other people will assign difficulties/choose characters/etc. for vocal players, including harmonies.

The Legend of Zelda Thread
I'm kind of surprised by the look of Skyward Sword. Since Twilight Princess Wii was just a GC port, it didn't get the full potential out of the graphics engine. I was hoping they would bring that look back but better. That said, I'm a fan of cel-shading but I think the colors could be toned down just a little bit. This is Zelda, not Mario. And I hope they scale down the semi-transparent Wiimote on the screen, that thing is way too big. I love the title, though.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
I'm genuinely looking forward to RB3 and GH:WoR. Rock Band 2 is getting seriously dated. I only still play it for the fact that it's so easy to modify. Speaking of which, The Devil Went Down to Georgia is HELL on the RB engine. Jeebus. I don't know if I can afford all this new stuff for RB3, though. I'm interested in Pro Mode for actually learning guitar, which I have been trying to do on and off for years, but I'm thinking just using my real guitar in Practice mode with the guitar volume all the way down is the more practical way to go. Pro Mode drums seem kind of simple . . . cymbals? Ok. Cool. I already do that anyway with the blue/orange on my WT kit. Then there's the keyboard, which looks fun, but again, cost. And it's kind of thrown a wrench in the song selection process. Now they have to account for five instruments, plus vocal harmonies. The currently announced songs look pretty average. I'm excited for Bohemian Rhapsody (over the GH version), Dead End Friends, Crosstown Traffic, Roundabout, Rainbow in the Dark, and, um . . . yeah. Lots of GH repeats, too. Guitar Hero setlist is much better, even if there's an abundance of LOLmetal. It'll be hella fun to play. The whole approach is looking pretty badass. Pure cheese, but badass cheese. But if it's backwards exportable I won't hesitate for a second in sticking with GH5.

What movie(s) did you last see?
I watched the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Return of the King, extended editions. Those uncut versions are like completely different movies. Makes you never want to watch the theater versions again. I found a copy of Reservoir Dogs while browsing earlier this week. I'll watch it as soon as I get the chance.

Literature
I just finished The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Picked it up because of the seemingly universal accolades. I enjoyed it but I don't think it deserves the huge amount of hype. The writing was mediocre to bad at times and the female "lead" is FRIGGIN' ANNOYING. So many fantasy authors seem to know zilch about women . . . looking at you, Robert Jordan. Now on to Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man.

LOST: The Final Season
You sound like you're basing that off the "they were all dead since the crash" interpretation, which is dead wrong. (Pun intended.) They didn't just decide to make everything a near-death delirium or some stupid crap just because they couldn't answer all the questions. As a matter of fact, 90% or more of the questions the show has ever posed have been answered, either explicitly or through implication. The rest is either irrelevant or intentionally left open-ended to make you think--what is the light, what would have happened had it gone out and MIB escaped the island, etc. The only thing I can really fault the writers for, after it's all said and done, is Walt. That was a screwup. They may say that the Others took him because he had supernatural powers and they wanted to investigate him, then released him when he was too much to handle, but in a show where every other crazy thing that happens is somehow connected to the island, I expected him to have some larger significance than simply being some random kid with superpowers. They definitely should have thought about him growing up before they gave him crazy powers.

LOST: The Final Season
Quoted for mother[bleep]ing truth. I'm kinda surprised at how many people don't seem to understand that everything that happened on the island was real. I mean, Christian really spelled it out. It's great to think about what Hurley and Ben got up to. They could have lived for thousands of years. Jack's death scene is just impossible to describe. And the Kimmel alternate endings were great, especially the Survivor one haha.

But in any case, I thought the ending was beautiful. It couldn't have been better.

What movie(s) did you last see?
We're watching The Matrix in class right now. First time I've ever seen it and I have to say I'm extremely underwhelmed. Years of people telling me it's a great movie and it just doesn't live up to the hype. Soooo exposition-heavy and the acting is horrendous.

Literature
I gave up on Donaldson. Could not stomach him enough to finish Mirror of Her Dreams. In other news, finished Stand-Up Tragedy by Bill Cain, a play. Thought it was brilliant. It's just so unconventional and dark. Next up is Equus. Also reading a biography of Konrad Adenauer. Whoo boy.

LOST: The Final Season
What? I don't care if you call me a fanboy but I'm not sure if I qualify as one. I mean, I did just say that I was disappointed with this episode. Not for the reveals, but from a directing/acting/writing standpoint. Rather subpar production. It's been like that the whole season but especially in this episode. It just doesn't feel like it used to.

LOST: The Final Season
I thought the whole cave of light thing was kind of cheesy and the initial shot of it was really bad CGI, but it really gives you a lot to think about. Lots of good stuff in this episode, it just wasn't executed the best it could have been.

LOST: The Final Season
The bomb wouldn't have gone off if Sawyer had listened to Jack. The MIB planted the bomb, and it has been established that he can't kill the candidates directly, nor can they kill themselves. But nothing stops them from killing each other, and when Sawyer pulled the wires he made himself responsible for the explosion. If he hadn't interfered the timer would have just run down to zero and nothing would happen, like the fuse going out on Richard's dynamite.

LOST: The Final Season
How do you not remember the episode in which Keamy shoots Alex in cold blood and then Ben summons Smokey to rape the mercenary crew. Lol. That was in S4. But the whole summoning thing was weird, since there's no real reason to believe the MIB takes orders from anyone, especially Ben, who had no idea that he existed. My guess is that he was just pretending to go along with it as an excuse to kick some mercenary [wagon], since they were just more people in his way. Plus, when Ben did the same thing in S5 when Smokey was pretending to be Locke he just sat there like "haha, sucker," so the whole thing is probably a sham.

Deoderant and Antiperspirant
I never had a problem until my newest deodorant stick, which seems to make me sweat when I never used to. Like, the first day I used it I had huge stains in my pits. Thanks, Old Spice. I think it's because it's liquid-based, but really I have no idea. I don't use that one any more.

LOST: The Final Season
During the first five minutes of this episode I was like, "Damn, this feels like old-school Lost  " Having everyone (minus team Richard) in the same place and having their fair share of screen time was such a relief.
