I'm fifteen and shave every day. Plus, you're misusing the term invest. A razor that at the very minimum will outlast me is certainly a better investment than hundreds, thousands of those wasteful little plastic cartridges of razors that cost like twenty dollars just for four or five. I could go to a safety razor, but I intend to get a straight razor anyway, so I'll just skip that step since I'd have to learn how to use two different things.

Or saddle shoes, which have intrigued me lately. Unfortunately my taste is outgrowing my wallet. Need to visit some thrift stores to fight those urges. This is kind of turning into a gentlemanly thread, so I'm going to comment on how I think I may start straight-razor shaving. I already wet shave, albeit not with a safety razor, so I figure I might as well just take the great leap in. This summer I should be earning quite a bit of money, plus I can certainly justify to myself buying a 250 dollar razor that can outlast my great-grandchildren, even if I also have to spend fifty dollars buying a whetstone and a strop. Just my musings. And the shaving cream my mom dug out of the closet when I ran out of the good stuff I buy smells disgusting, but works surprisingly well for an aerosol.

Tie clips rule. Plus, now they're considered trendy. Right now, a basic rule is that it's trendy if it's something your grandfather would have worn. And I forgot, you're a Navy kid. Of course your shoes are shined.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Wtf. Me and a girl are a thing now, I think. And the weirdest part is, I think I might enjoy that fact. Wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf. Kinda happened tonight. Girl I haven't seen in a while, a friend's best friend, we were having a little party shindig thing, and it just kind of rolled out. We're certainly a thing in everyone else's eyes. Huh. I don't think it's a relationship, though. I oughtta talk to her in the morning. I'm [bleep]ing done with school, [bleep] yes, so I need sleep so hard.

If you only own one suit, it's ridiculous to own one that you can only wear in one season (well, you can push on two). Linen's massively hard to take care of as a suit (I own a linen blazer and it's the most time-consuming article I own). Cotton is good if you already have one, though. I've never even seen a real seersucker suit, but they do intrigue me. I should get a cotton suit. It's summer here most of the year. Gracias. And I might look for seersucker, although I doubt I'll find many. I doubt I'll find many cottons. Maybe a seersucker tie to add a little? Whatevs.

A-O! It's what I did. I generally don't hang out with people if they aren't remarkable in ways I find interesting - and I've stopped hanging out with people when they got boring. Kind of bad in that it can alienate folks, but eventually they'll forget about that.

A jet black suit is better for more formal or special occasions, but I personally love a look like that. Wear a white pocket square for added points. Just make sure everything fits. Don't be afraid of tailors. You want to have almost no break (where your trousers meet your shoes), and show between half an inch and an inch of shirt cuff. French cuffs (cufflinks) would be cool, too. And make sure your tie roughly matches the size of your lapels - wide lapels, wider tie, and vice versa. Thinner ties (two and a half-to three inches at the base) are more in right now. Your tie, when knotted, should reach the center of your belt buckle. Uhhhh. That's most of my quick suit advice. Oh, and make sure your damn shoes are clean. A vest might make it cooler; I like three-piece suits.

You could always punch her in the stomach, I guess. Um, I mean, that's bad! Now, catching up with me since this is one of two threads I remotely care about: I'm ready for this summer. There will be absolutely nothing serious with girls in it - it's all about me. Getting money and [bleep]ing [bleep]es. And self-improvement or whatever. Me, my dad and my brother are starting a concrete curbing business, going in to Phoenix, AZ for training in a little more than a week. Luckily the area we live in has only one major competitor, and they held a monopoly (more like an oligarchy) at a ridiculous price (approx. $9 per linear foot of curbing, whereas in Dallas it's around three). Even undercutting him by half (won't do) will prove ridiculously profitable, and sense I'll be making a minimum of a dollar a foot (maybe ten seconds total to lay), the rest split between my dad, brother, and the business' expenses. We're shooting for a ten thousand dollar profit this year, which won't be hard at all. Will be nice. I'm also looking for a good barber and tailor. Hard to find, although I think I've nabbed a tailor with a good reputation. There are only a couple actual tailors in this town, the rest are dry cleaners that also do terrible alterations. Barber may be more difficult - I want a guy I can befriend like a tailor, and that also offers straight razor shaves. Might be tough. Although I have a friend that goes to UT in Austin (where I'll be headed in two years) that has started his own sartorial hobbies, and thinks he's found a great barber and tailor, and intends to mention me when I come down. How nice. As to the gents on here: the modern gentleman is making a comeback. If you combine all the fun and arrogance with chivalry and, well, gentlemanship, you will make an even more lasting impression than with either alone. Our times may soon be turbulent. Master manly skills. Carry an umbrella. Wear sunscreen. Kick some [wagon].

Wide bands are only good if they err on the side of the massive, like bracelets or something. And leather, not rubber. A cheap watch isn't a bad thing, but you don't want it to look cheap. If you want a good watch, look at something like Fossil. I was laughing the other day. Some football guys I know were making fun of my shorts (I rarely wear cargo shorts and almost never athletic shorts) because they were above my knees and fit me well rather than just hanging down like a skirt. I thought it was hilarious, since the girls loved them, even though I don't completely like how they look like cut-off chinos. But they fit me so nicely, and it's just a little fraying, so whatevs.j Summer here's such a killer style-wise. It's damn near impossible to wear anything but shorts and a t-shirt without boiling to death. At least I have my linen blazer, which is good for the nights. I want an unstructured jacket. Or some light cotton shirts, kinda the grungy flannel Kurt Cobain thing, but more modern and happy and breezy, ya know?

I get flying ants that fly in my windows because the city won't spray at the school next to my house. Not as bad as the giant fire ants we had where I grew up. They owned swaths of our yard. We had tarantulas, too, and they would fight each other for control. It was [bleep]ing hilarious.

BTWs, on the gay flattery thing. There aren't many gay dudes here, and the ones that are would be considered [bleep]-ugly by more metropolitan gay guys, but I still take it to heart when they compliment me. Any gay guy has good taste, it seems.

That's what it's like here. I mean, when you consider that roughly 85% of Americans attend church regularly, it isn't hard to figure out ...

Yeah, that's the only reason to take the class - college credit. Of course, if you plan on going into an Honors program like me, you're sorta screwed sideways since they have a different core curriculum. Still helps, all the same. And no matter what, you'll have things like math, and a lot of Honors programs are more liberal-artsy or creative-wise, so some just have you take the regular courses.

Favorite alcoholic beverage?
Good scotch is something I intend to try as well. Of course, any whiskey is classy if you're drinking it straight.

Favorite alcoholic beverage?
Jack and coke (well, Dr. Pepper preferred) or gin and tonic. Don't drink much else. Don't drink much period. I would like to try absinthe, though. And something with vermouth in it. But, I like the classier stuff.

Sperm donations
It's actually a tiny portion of men who can donate sperm. And you're contracted into a very tight (LOL), binding (ha), vaginal (too far) contract that restricts what you eat and do for quite some time. You can get some bank, though. I wouldn't do it. I doubt I'd even be eligible.

Real life help & advice
Most places give scholarships from the school district (tiny ones that barely pay for AP courses) if you graduate early. Plus, colleges in general look for kids who do well in AP courses. Of course, going to college when you're sixteen or seventeen can be problematic. If you graduate early, you're expected to go straight to college. Not much else you can do, is there?

I still find 511s too skinny. 501s are much more flattering on the general population. Then again, I'm biased because people look terrible if they're really thin or really fat and wearing skinny jeans. And those are usually the ones that do. If they're really fitting you, you shouldn't immediately know that they're 511s (or, sometimes far skinnier. ew).

And now it doesn't. I doubt I'd be much help anyways. Plus, you know exactly what it has to do with things.

It's probably because (over) half the kids on this board are under 18 and don't even have the stones to get in a relationship to begin with. You're forgetting that Goddess is married, and as I remember, Ginger was English.

I prefer completely smooth, shiny loafers. Good when you want to look somewhat dressy, but not formal enough for oxfords. Although I do love my oxfords, even though I inherited them from my brother and they're in tragic condition.
