If you upset any group of people enough you can drive them towards supporting extremists. What I find funny about the election of Hamas is that America & Britain promote democracy but when that same democracy is used to elect somebody they don't like they threaten to cut funding to the Palestinian Authority. Well, when the "somebody they don't like" is quite ready to attack Israel, one of the United States' and Britain's greatest allies, I would prepare to cut funding as well. As to the discussion of how Israel responds with greater force, of course they would. War isn't a game that has rules. If they're getting hit with SCUDs, I'd expect them to hit back harder. Numbers don't matter. I prefer not to really take either side. There are much more than three sides to the conflict. There are people on both sides who disagree as well as agree with what's happening. I can only debate from information I hear from the media or articles such as these, which, in this world, are surely completely biased. So I have very little to go on, considering I don't live in Israel or Palestine, and don't understand the two-thousand year old issues that stem hatred between the two nations.

Much like in World War 2. Nazi scientists were suspected to be developing all sorts of high-tech weapons, including missiles. Apart from a handful of alliances (mostly passed by threats), Nazi Germany had the whole world against it. Everyone takes notice over nuclear/high-tech threats. Two countries developing nuclear technology - including weaponry? North Korea and Iran. What two countries are being watched very closely by the UN? Exactly. While I highly doubt any country would attack any country with a strong foundation and plenty of alliances (From the United States to England to New Zealand), if they did...They would certainly be screwed. But if nukes were involved, we'd all be screwed. :uhh: (By the way, any responses to this post probably won't be taken notice of. I rarely look back at debates : )
