Actually, there is a whole style that involves using text as the main focal point (render doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as focal though). viewtopic.php?f=16&t=779656

A drawing says more then 1000words Don't think it would work with the transparent ones though, so never mind I guess.

Not bad for a first. I think the background is a bit too blurry though, making it look like a mess of colours. If you unblur the area around the focal a bit, that would also help to blend the render in more. Also, taking a look at a few signature tutorials on for example http://www.deviantart.com might help, there are some very useful ones there. Good luck. :thumbup:

I'd agree that it could use some more contrast, especially some darker tones. The whip seems to look a bit too 'ropey' too, if that makes any sense. :P But other than that, it looks really good so far.

Simple but effective, looks pretty good. Just one little thing though, on the signature, I'd have the 'pattern' fill up the whole canvas and not make it stop at the edges, I just think that would look better. But pretty nice.

^ I really wouldn't recommend adding borders to any of those, to be honest. They are indeed very busy and seem quite cluttered. Not much to add to what Nadril already posted about that, but here's some general advice that may come in handy when making signatures: Avoid using text. If the signature really needs something added to it, you could always add some text later, but most of the times it looks much better without. Stick to a few colours, and try to use ones that go together well. This is a handy little tool to help with that. Don't stick a lot of C4Ds on top of each other. It usually makes stuff too cluttered, so it's generally better to use different bits of one C4D (if you're going to use one at all). Or like 2 or something, but not a lot more than that. Don't use multiple (faded) copies of the same render to make backgrounds. Don't use lens flares for lighting. Good luck. :thumbup:

I like it a lot actually, especially V1 and 2. The effects are pretty good and so is the depth, though the render is maybe blended a bit too much. But good job. :thumbup:

The render does seem to be too large for the canvas, and it could indeed use some sharpening. I do quite like sparkliness though.

TBH the whole concept of silhouettes against a coloured background and some other effects added to it is really, really old and has been done so many times before. --- The version without the leaves isn't at all that bad (apart from the text and strange white outline around the people), but I've just never liked the whole silhouette style. IMO it's really overused and just terribly unoriginal. Sure, the reason why that style is so popular is because it does kind of work, but I'm just so tired of seeing stuff like this. Nothing against you personally, Pat.

Not bad, not bad at all. You're definitely improving a lot, the background/effects on the Ike one are a big step in the right direction. Keep at it. :thumbup:
