  1. I'm not, I'm just saying which classes can pull their part, and which strategies are better to get kills. I'm all-around pretty good, perhaps closing in on godly when it comes to sniping (my killstreaks reach into the tens and twenties on arena surf), so I can I try every strategy for every class and tell if it's any good, and I know not to underestimate any given class or to suggest things that require too much skill. Spies are in fact one of my favorites too, as the Your Eternal Reward has an uncanny ability to take out a group of enemies from the inside without giving them a clue of what's going on, and when used in conjunction with arena surf teleports that lead to the enemy spawn, you can easily pick off a dozen or two enemies before they catch you..
  2. Yeah, but with the Righteous Bison fully upgraded you can tank for as long as necessary. Already before being upgraded it is one of the best weapons in the game, then when you fully upgrade the reloading it reloads perhaps 10 shots per second, with full fire rate it shoots nearly as fast as the Syringe Gun, with full clip upgrade you get 12 shots and with full health upgrade you gain a helluva lot of health per kill. I just won a round using the Bison as my primary weapon, and the only slightly dificult enemy was the Steel Gauntlet Heavies, with their massive health and damage reduction to ranged weapons. Comparably the Cow Mangler 5000 or any of the Shotguns or Rocket Launchers suck. You could only kill perhaps a tenth as many per minute with them.
  3. And don't forget to headshot. Also the Bushwhacker to finish off Jarated enemies, since it gives crits in place of mini-crits. Anyways, Soldiers should use the Righteous Bison. It may replace any secondaries such as the Buff Banner that you wish to bring, but the sheer amount of damage you can total per shot, the quick reload time and the fact that it requires no ammo vastly outweighs the importance of giving away a few seconds of mini-crits.
  4. Ok, I've got to admit that strategy worked excellently. Would've been a bit better if the Pyro would've bothered to ignite my arrows though.
  5. It's still takes time. At least with Mad Milk you've got a weapon that's actually useful to back it up.
  6. Jarate doesn't really regenerate fast enough to be worth it. What's he gonna do in the meantime? Go melee with the Shahahansha or Tribalman's Shiv? Scout is open, as is Medic if you want that.
  7. The demoman is good manoeuvrability and damage at the cost of accuracy. It is single-handedly the best class for MVM ever. It's ideal to have the Loch-n-Load rather than the sticky gun since you have quite a long time between rounds and it is useful to concentrate the bombs on an area where the first boss is going to be. The sniper hasn't been adjusted for damage like the other suboptimal classes (like the spy for example) and is therefore the weakest, most useless class ever. Their charged shots can be useful when dealing with the bosses but only if the team doesn't have a heavy, demoman, pyro or engineer active. It's good, but not the best. Pyros and Engineers with the Widowmaker can do more damage simply because of their ability to dish it out in a constant stream. The highest regen rate for metal is half the firing rate for the Widowmaker, so as long as you keep hitting you can keep firing forever without reloading.
  8. Picking off enemy Snipers would serve that purpose, but they are rarely so easily visible that you can do such intentionally. Another thing you can do is kill Über Medics before they can do anything, but since they start the übercharge the moment their buddy takes damage and there are often up to five of them at a time, there's only a very small window of opportunity, and spies are better suited for this since their backstab is faster and more reliable than attempting a headshot from half the map away. Support classes are good in usual gameplay, but despite being my favorites, only the Medic is able to do his part in Mann versus Machine, with a well timed regular or Kritzkrieg über being invaluable.
  9. Sometimes that's just what you have to be when a giant arrives, because then you might be the only one left alive. As a Pyro, it's not uncommon for me to singlehandedly massacre hundreds of robots per minute, tanking the entire front-line without a Medic. And as an Engineer your Sentry may be able to hold back the wave for several tens of seconds while your team recuperates or falls back to purchase upgrades.
  10. You'll see it pretty much right away, the robots use the zerg rush strategy, they arrive at several times the Sniper's firing rate.
  11. It's not suboptimal, it's like trying to hammer in a nail with a sponge; no matter how hard you hit or how long you try, it won't help.
  12. No really, I'm the kind of player that duels against 3 enemy Snipers and wins. When I'm at my best, only 1 in 5 shots miss the enemy heads, but there are simply too many enemies for a Sniper to take out. Even assuming you use the Bazaar Bargain and land a headshot with every single attempt, you'd still only be able to take out a minute fraction of what any other class but the Medic and Spy would. I mean ok, against giants and Über Medics a Sniper can be useful, but other than that the only advantage is how quick it is to dispose of enemy Snipers.
  13. It's often good to have at least two Engineers so that one sentry can help protect the other against busters. I'd usually play Sniper, but since they're useless against huge hordes, I'll either play Pyro or give Medic a try. One tip for all heavy damage dishers (Pyros, Heavies, Demomen and Soldiers) is to purchase health on kill upgrades first. At least for Pyros that can give you the ability to simply stand still in the middle of a horde of melee Scouts and constantly regenerate any damage they do.
  14. Yeah, it's just a gamemode of Team Fortress; it's cooperative PvM with a team of up to six players facing thousands of robot versions of the characters. It's pretty teamwork intensive at the last waves, but it's hella fun and lets you try out some interesting strategies. And it's not really something we have to organize beyond making sure we've added eachother on Steam and playing at the same time, to join the same server we just have to do it as a group.
  15. I don't know why this hasn't come up before, but we should really get together for a Mann versus Machine game sometime. The fact that you can join a server as a group is pretty much perfect for this purpose and the teamplay requirement is just great.
  16. What are the rules when it comes to filling spellbooks? Or alternatively custom classes?
  17. You might have read that shitty theory about how Chell was actually shot by the turrets, that would explain why you find it to be somewhat off. Don't worry though, that circulating image is bullshit as not only does it state that in Greek mythology, heaven is a cornfield (and corn is a plant that's native only to the Americas), but it was already known that turrets can sing (you encounter singing turrets in a secret room long before that) and Chell has been confirmed to be an important character in an upcoming Half-Life game. I don't read manga, simple as that. I find right-to-left reading annoying and I would never read a comic instead of watching an animation (except for Homestuck).

L. impertinens, -entis; pref. im- not + pertinens.] 1. Not pertinent; not pertaining to the matter in hand; having no bearing on the subject; not to the point; irrelevant; inapplicable. 19. Nef, those underhanded techniques were of the assassination, stealth and disabling variety. Relying on delivering accurate and deadly strikes from the shadows and using strike points to shut down the opponent's body during combat, not running away from little girls in frilly dresses.
  20. >"Oh god, there's a bard playing in the village square." >Time to assert authority: >Slice strings of lute from a distance. >Get pinned to the ground by a small teenage girl armed with a whip and a fountain pen. >Break lose, run and hide. >Return and deliver victor's speech after a friend ran her over from behind. Certainly the acts of a true ninja.
  21. The money per day is small, yes, but there's the chance of encountering some real bigshots if you do well, and then the reward could potentially be a gamebreaker (in the figgurative of the figgurative sense; a significant change, not overpowered). Retech, would interpretive dance to go with storytelling count as Dance or Act? Archi, you sliced the strings of a masterwork lute in the middle of a bard's performance, a bard which might I add follows the religion of Calistria, the god of trickery, lust and revenge. Expecting a different outcome (except perhaps one where I wasn't ambushed) could only be called ignorance. You might as well have walked up to a brawler's face and insulted his mother.
  22. I've got Know Direction, that whole shebang would be pointless if I made any effort to learn the location as I could just continuously cast that to pay attention to the course.Besides I can just summon an and ride it away on my own if it comes to that. Or I could use Locate Object and imagine a specific object I know to be on the island, such as for example a unique symbol carved into a rock or tree. Trying to forcibly prevent me from being able to return is just a counterproductive action, I have no intention of returning, but going that far to make it hard can only lead me to believe that there could be reward in giving someone else your location. And no, you're not getting any hair and I'm not taking any enchanted object with me so you can scry on my position, and don't try to hide one somewhere I would accidentally bring it along as I've got Detect Magic.
  23. Do you have True Strike? Because if so then you can get 5,500gp profit from crafting a Far-Reaching Sight for Lei.
  24. Any chance it'd be possible to charter a ship to a more major settlement? I'm not particularly fond of staying somewhere where the population is smaller than my wallet and governed by an egocentric sadist.
  25. In between sessions I'll cast Mending on my lute to repair the strings. EDIT: Anyone here have True Strike? It's required for crafting a Far-Reaching Sight, which costs 8,000gp less than buying one, saving a load of money for Lei's character.
