  1. And I got elected to student council. Dyeing my hair will now either be unnecessary or all the more hilarious.
  2. Sculpting gel is such a hassle and it takes hours to get it out afterwards. Not to mention that with the sheer mass if hair I have, sufficient gel would cost a fortune. I'm gonna have the dyeing done by a hairdresser if I can, shouldn't be too expensive seeing as the competition must be fierce since half the businesses here are hair salons (I'm not even kidding, there are at least twice as many hair salons as there are shops). And my beard isn't gonna make an issue, it still refuses to grow thick enough to get any visible color.
  3. As could the idea I got 24 hours ago; dyeing my hair with my own blood, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. I'm not gonna do anything that is not me, that is equal to lying, which is also not me. And in those terms, dyeing my hair with my own blood is actually a better idea, since at least that messed up brain of mine wants to do. I'm not gonna get: A body mod. A piercing. An impulse tattoo. Any new habits. Any tight-fitting or feminine clothes. Anything that changes the shape or texture of my hair. Anything that strikes myself as unsightly.
  4. Not gonna cut or alter the texture of my hair, long smooth hair is part of my identity. Also I am in the process of growing a beard. What I'm lacking is not memorable traits, it's memorable features. I don't need help to make girls like me, I need help to make them talk to me. After all, if these were standing alone, who would you talk to? -An average guy with long hair. -A long-haired guy who acts like an idiot. -A guy with long, dyed hair.
  5. I get it, I look like a hobo. Res is onto it. But until someone gets it more precisely, I'm going to keep the exact details a serket.
  6. It's not an eyepatch, it's a pair of sunglasses with one lens taken out. It's representing a pair of glasses with one lens blacked out as an alternative for an eyepatch though. Also you're not too familiar with internet culture, are you? Well, I'll leave it for someone else to explain or you to find out. I know Lei will see it right away, and there's at least one other person but I can't remember who (it was either Pieis, Icu, Trol or Earth), and I've got a feeling there are a couple of other people here who might be familiar enough to recognize it, even if they are going to care far less about it, or be concerned about my mental well-being.
  7. Yeah, not gonna get a facial tattoo. At least not until I've worked up enough of a fortune to afford the risk of becoming permanently unemployed. And to give you a hint as to why that symbol and color: Yeah, the jacket is a bit wrong and my hand now smells of foot, but I can't get any closer than that without pretty much stating it outright.
  8. It's not quite a saying, just paraphrasing of a lot of different things. And it didn't throw off my body clock, I was just getting really sick of looking at my wrist all the time. And I'm aware that dyeing my hair is a stupid thing to do, but my natural hair color is too neutral and forgettable, and even if it isn't the cause of my inability to get a girlfriend, it probably is contributing to it. And besides it's so strong and healthy that I couldn't even begin to damage it unless I lit it on fire or left it soaking in a corrosive chemical, so I've got nothing to lose. As for tattoos, I'm not getting any until something really strikes my fancy. I used to have a thing for the Neversoft mascot (the speared eyeball). But now, if anything, I'm leaning more towards a cerulean blue ♏ on my shoulder or my nickname written in a large font down my forearm.
  9. You know how they say time always moves slower when meassured? I resent that statement. I was without a watch for one week, and yet that felt like an eternity. On another note, I'm considering dyeing my hair some whacky color (yes, that would be in fact be for attention, though memorability and impact rather than making people notice me (judging by the amount of heads turned in the cafeteria today, the welding goggles would serve such a purpose beyond excellently, even when worn on the forehead for a purely aesthetic effect). Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards fiery red. Also either any color except pink or lime green would suit me as long as it's not too bright, or my narcissism is worse than I thought.
  10. Flipping rad! I've been eating nothing but hotdogs for dinner for two weeks now, and I'm still not tired of it!
  11. It's good to finally be able to use my stationary computer again. My laptop is good enough to watch anime, but I've missed gaming.
  12. I should get myself roughed up more often, because now it's my right half that feels weird because it's not in pain. It just feels kind of dead compared to my left side, which sustained all the wounds.
  13. Bah. Can someone explain how I managed to both break my wris[bleep]ch and hurt my palm from being catapulted off a kick scooter? EDIT: Seriously, they've forgot to at [bleep] to the censor exception list when it's in the word wrist-watch?
  14. Not really. You get to choose education based on what you want to become, but you don't have to worry about choosing the right classes to graduate. If you wan't to work as early as possible, but for respectable pay, you take two years vocational and become an intern for two years in that field, or you take three years vocational and go right to becoming an actual employee somewhere. If you want further education, you take three years study prep and continue into university, or you take three years vocational with some extra classes to have a basis in a more specific field before joining an university. If you want to become an engineer, you take three years in either, with extra math if you chose vocational, before joining a college. This is our alternative to high school, being for ages 16-19.
  15. I'm just going to sit right here, not understanding shit and laughing my ass off at how complicated the American school system is. We just choose a line of education, get divided into classes and then we're told our schedules, with optional extra classes to take if we wish to continue into a university or get an engineering degree if we chose a vocational line instead of a study prep one. Examples of such extra classes is the newer history I'm leaving for right now, and the Nynorsk ([bleep]ing fabricated dialect that no one speaks) I've got on Wednesday so that I can continue my education in an university, or extra math for those who wish to become engineers.
  16. Sorry, I managed to mix up two different calculations in my head when reversing them to get the duration of the fall, using the t² from the distance calculation while working with the velocity one, and I don't even have a clue as to why I decided to make my own mock distance calculation when the easy one was right there. And the distance the 1 tonne object would have to fall through a vacuum to have an impact of 1,000 tonnes would be exactly 50,968.4m according to the calculations (since Earth's gravity is 9.81), though this number is effectively grossly inaccurate due to the fact that this is halfway into space (according to non-American standard), and Earth's gravity is about 9.7 at that height.
  17. Assuming no air resistance, for 1,000 tonnes of impact force, you'd have to drop it from 539m. Any object accelerates at 9.8m/s in free fall without air friction. 1000/9.8~102. SQRT(102)~10. 9.8+9.8*2+9.8*3...9.8*10=539.
  18. I'm still waiting for my dad to send a screen up here, so I'm limited to my laptop while the server is on my stationary. Additionally the upload speed here is only 0.4Mbs, so it might have horrible lag.
  19. Well, it was a rather complicated endeavor, but basically I would've voted against point buy if it were Dungeoneering, but really, looking at this system, I really like it and am in favor of it. Given that I am probably the most stubborn person here when it came to continuing Dungeoneering and I came around after I actually put pen to paper and tried out the system, I'm sure that you would like it too. You're not making any sense now...
  20. As Retech said, we never got to voting about the leveling system, things went to shit way before that. And since he claims he would have voted against point-purchase, it would have been at least 4 vs 3 against us, though I've got a feeling Res and Alg would have been on our side as well, making it 5 vs 2 for us.
  21. As highlighted extensively the pointbuy is only used for the magic, mostly because casting fireball five hundred times is tedious...and sitting on the grass summoning streams of frilly lights really is the living end. If we wanted full realism then there would be a school, the game would last several years, and leveling up would come annually. Oh, and character creation, though that can be removed if people prefer. On top of that multiclassing multiple magics is largely pointless, given that people can fly with fire, ice, nature...etc...There isn't really a limit on what you can do with magic. I'd still believe people here would rather grind for half an hour than bother to set goals and decide how to spend the points earned from finishing them. After all there's a reason we're here on a Runescape forum rather than one belonging to any other MMO.
  22. Isn't the point of Esper magic to allow people to be good at it without letting any one person be overpowered because he/she grinds his/her way up with several magics? Since they're limited to only one school, people would have to think outside the box to use their powers efficiently in any given situation, and so grinding will only really help if a person is already really inventive or if they plan to avoid any situation where they can't use their power at its full potential. Also the point I was getting at with the setting was that society and its technology would be modern, but that guns and cars would be incredibly hard to acquire. Yeah, I'm stealing all of this from Academy City in To"]http://anilinkz.com/...tsu-no-index]To Aru Majutso no Index[/url], but it's a really good premise. Also isn't it reasonably clear that no one actually wants a point-purchase system? It's just pointlessly complicated and unrealistic.
  23. Setting: Too vague. Suggestion; Modern, but guns and cars being uncommon. Magic: Limited(if Espers, Yes if not). Gameplay: Not enforced. Towns: THE town/A town (preferably a hybrid of the two). Fate Points: Hybrid. Skill System: Realism.
  24. It seems like the only difference is a cap on skills and penalties for getting too powerful too quickly. There's also the difference that you have to set your own goals to progress, and that progress only grants points which you can use to level up. I find it much better with a realistic system where doing something grants you experience in that thing rather than such a point-purchase system.
  25. I agree with Retech. Also the Nimbus system seems needlessly complicated to me, what with the mechanic of buying skills. Hence my vote goes for the Dungeoneering system. Though it might be beneficial to alter the roll mechanic, so as to make level matter in the calculation and not just interpretation.
