  1. ... Ah. You're right, I misunderstood. I didn't know what Fairy Tail was like, and most of what I remember from the Toaru series is Touma punching people, the one blonde guy's awesome Hawaiian shirt, and Accelerator as a father being absolutely precious. And, of course, A Certain Eurobeat Remix of Only My Railgun. I was thinking an actiony time-waster, when you wanted, to quote TvTropes, a "Battle Harem" cast, as I understand it. Not my area of expertise, but I can look. The harem part is not a prerequisite. One romantic interest for the main character would be enough, as long as it's played seriously but in a funny way.So an anime about one guy who keeps saving an already decent world that has a humorous romantic subplot and doesn't suffer from the roller-coaster power level syndrome.
  2. Meh. I know it sounds hipster of me, but the mainstream media is just shit, with the rare exception of Bones, the Mentalist and Game of Thrones (which I'm still somewhat pissed is named after the first book rather than the whole series). Hollywood's got a few decent movies going with Marvel going on a production spree, but in the end I'll either have to find more stuff to watch or resort to sleeping all day to pass the time. And while sleeping feels pleasant at the time, I've grown somewhat dependent on a certain level of sleep deprivation to function properly anymore.
  3. One of my favourites is Soul Eater; Pros: -Fairly Solid Action -Occasional comedic romance between the female lead and her partner/weapon -No one really gains power without explanation, and as far as I recall none of it seemed cheapened -Pretty good, simple plot (for an anime): basically, warriors and humans that turn into weapons vs. witches, demons, and a god of madness Cons: -Several main characters, and even supporting characters can get their own episodes -On the surface, it's patently silly -Fight scenes can get a little monologue-ish I don't watch anime all that much anymore, I'll look around for something that fits the bill better. Oh, just remembered; Full Metal Alchemist. If you haven't watched it, you should give it a try. The first series (just Full Metal Alchemist) is generally better, but has to create its own ending (it was based on a written story, caught up to it, and pretty much said "Well, now what?"), Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood follows the storyline all the way, but isn't quite as good at telling the same parts. The first series, at least, has everything you wanted, though the romance doesn't pop up very often. It should be noted that all three anime I mentioned can be found on youtube. I think you managed to get me wrong on all points there. With action I meant for it to have action, not for as much action as possible. With funny romance I meant like in Toaru Majutso no Index, where half the recurring female characters are Tsundere for the main character and he's just too slow to realize a thing, with misunderstandings happening at least once or twice per episode, much to his discomfort. With no sudden jumps in power I meant like in most animes where whenever the plot demands it, the main character who usually mops the floor with an equivalent enemy (or army of them) suddenly gets his ass kicked hard. And I actually prefer complex plots (duh, I read Homestuck, if I had anything against complex plots, I would have been writhing on the floor ever since I set eyes on that webcomic).
  4. Yo, Nex, think you could help me find an anime to pass the time? I'm looking for something in the general area of Fairy Tail and Toaru Majutso no Index. -One distinct primary character. -Action. -Funny romance. -No characters jumping between invincible and useless as it fits the plot. -Plot. I don't really give a shit if the action is with magic, guns or swords, as long as it's there. I've already tried searching for something myself and asking the anime board on Funnyjunk, but I would have had better luck trying to make my own. And since you're the Tavern's self-designated anime guy I thought I'd try asking you.
  5. So can I note down the effects of the meal as permanent? I'm rather happy with being drizzled with bonuses as a result of the actual bonus and getting a heap of mutations.
  6. No, Bukkit is the server software.
  7. Now we wait until Bukkit updates.
  8. Select join an existing network, then enter Falador Tavern as name and Tavern as password.
  9. He's talking about the mods. But since we're using Bukkit (which to my knowledge hasn't updated yet), it doesn't matter if they have yet. Ok, server's ready. The Hamachi server name is Falador Tavern, password is Tavern. Looks like we'll have to wait until Bukkit catches up.
  10. Yeah, either gonna get a mod that prevents explosions from damaging blocks, or one that prevents mobs from entering certain areas. If I do the latter I'm probably also gonna look for the ability to disallow TNT in the same area, to prevent someone from getting a clever idea and go hunt creepers and collect sand. Also if we do the latter, we could build up defenses and then deactivate the mod, so as to make the safety more relying on the players than to just encourage the "if I stay here and build all night, they can't get me" thought process.
  11. Who's up for a vanilla Minecraft SMP server? I'd do some mods to set up a somewhat proper setting, but I'm moving in 12 days and I'm most likely not going to be able to open a port from my condo, since the network there won't be mine and I'd rather not take any risks by attempting to hack the router. Durr. Who's up for a Minecraft SMP server with some basic mods? If there's enough interest (say, three people) then I'm gonna find some mods to make living as a village somewhat interesting, and set up a Hamachi server.
  12. Ok, now I see the value of competitive Pokémon gaming, as I'm using the Wi-Fi train to get bps faster. Though nature still isn't important as I'm just raping my way through it with a trio of 2nd grade legends. EDIT: Damnit, speed-[bleep] with all-out attacks. I'll just go for the regular trains and just spam A until I've got a few hundred points.
  13. Doesn't matter that much when it comes to headshotting, you can use sweeping and timing the shot to omit the need for precision such as I usually do with the touchpad, but whenever you have to have the precision down to one or two pixels, you need a mouse. Same goes for whenever you have to turn fast, but accurate, where you'll have missed if you overshoot it and have to turn back.
  14. Most controllers have two joysticks. Just because they're now attached to the controller rather than being the main body of it, the terminology doesn't change.
  15. Unless Brotherhood too was improved, I for one prefer the PC version to the PS3. Using joysticks, the parkour is like trying to tie a sailor's knot on your fingers, and you simply can't use the crossbow to snipe someone who's out of range. Meanwhile on a computer, the parkour is just a simplified version of good old bunnyjumping, and sniping is as easy as tilting the camera to line up the enemy with the seam on your hood.
  16. Don't think AC and BF are ports, at least not from console to PC. I'm not too sure about the company that made BF3, but Ubisoft is primarily a computer gaming company, having a long history of making games such as Age of Empires. They are also both vastly easier to play using a mouse and keyboard rather than a controller (because precision controlling with a joystick simply does not work), and for an optimal setup they both require more buttons than you can find on a controller.
  17. Why not Pong? Its free too. And several games are considerably better on consoles....Not to mention that you don't have to put up with terrible ports. Terrible ports? As far as I know, the only games that are ported to PC are emulators and ancient ones, most games you find for a computer were made for a computer. And the only other form of ports there are are the ones you have to open to host a server, such as the ones I already have open for TF2.
  18. Why not a free game such as Team Fortress? Besides, computer gaming trumps console gaming any day of the week.
  19. I don't trust Microsoft to deliver anything other than a decent OS. Also I've got this really creepy smiley face made out of dried blood on my ankle from scratching myself, it's got a sly smile and looks like it's winking at me.
  20. Never had that trouble, at least not after getting access to the Fairy Rings.Though that may have something to do with the complete 3D map of Gielinor that I have lodged inside my head... well, semi-complete, Trollweiss mountains, the Wildy and Meyerditch are a bitt blurry.
  21. Nuzlocke More often than not, you just need blind luck, which is the best part. Or the worst. Could go either way. Grinding works too, because if you hit lvl 30 with your starter before the first gym, you're set for a while. And yeah, Archi's right. Though ironically enough, the only game I know of that has more discovery than fighting involved is RuneScape. Also the completionist streaks can be fun to go after if they're more heavy on the thinking side than the grinding, because then they're not too boring and you've earned the right to gloat about them.
  22. Not so much so when it's not actually partaking in the fighting though, which is why I specified using Exp. Share. On that note, I miss Exp. All from Gen I, that thing used to save me a lot of time... oh who am I kidding, of course I didn't grind there, I just put Rare Candy in the sixth spot of the bag, talked to the catching tutor, flew to cinnabar and surfed up and down the east coast until I hit M or Missingno.
  23. GTS and Wi-fi trade makes it pretty plausible to get a full Pokédex, even when you're not attending events, because even if a Pokémon requires one, there's bound to be a few guys out there who have that Pokémon and are willing to trade it for any old Pokémon with a Dream World ability or a shiny. Also the multiple ways of evolution is easy as long as you look the Pokémon up on Bulbapedia before you start grinding. Quite a few times have I been grinding a Pokémon for hours using Exp. Share before finding out that it for example requires high friendship to evolve *cough* Crobat *cough*.
  24. To make a ship, all you need is two characters and either romantic tension between them or an ignorant person.
  25. Mask, I no longer need to borrow your Zekrom, I managed to trade a newly hatched female Zorua for a lvl 100 one over the GTS. [spoiler=Diploma]
