  1. This is what makes me the maddest. Jagex, in typical fashion, took the easy way out and slapped a bandage on the issue rather than approaching the issue itself directly. The problem is that RC is eyeball-numbingly grindy. Instead of altering the exp rates so that making bloods/laws/deaths gave substantially more exp than they currently do to overall make training the skill less of a cabbageing chore and give players a REASON to level RC by doing the skill itself, they chose the quickest solution-- nerf the effigies. It just reeks of lazy programming.
  2. That's a massive assumption, and really misguided. If anything, I'm mad because all of the people who DIDN'T deserve it got what they wanted, and everybody else is going to be left behind, in addition to being hassled to stop slaying when they get one unless they're already far enough to use all effigies on the spot. In general, I disapprove of updates that heavily favor circumstantial rewards over actual effort. It all goes back to holiday rares, and continues to today, where the tradition is to screw over anybody who isn't able to access the content on the first day. True, but this happens both ways - the game gives, the game takes. The game changes. In my opinion, the players should adapt to it. If the game would not change, it would become boring eventually. So the game will change, eventually. For good. It's just a game, afterall. I feel unsure why people are getting unhappy over minor changes. This is anything but a minor change. Unless they react to the shitstorm by further changing it, the impact this has on almost all aspects of the game is huge.
  3. The funny thing is, I have been "retired" for a while but I was considering giving the game another chance after seeomg all the nice changes they made recently such as removing a lot of the bots, adding Storm of Armadyl, the changes to allow bound items like extremes in BOBs, this new spiffy-looking minigame, etc... But then today's nerf removed almost all of the goodwill they had built up with me and made me completely reconsider returning to the game. In fact, it made me glad I didn't still play because I don't really have anything vested in the game. If I did, I would be furious about it.
  4. Also, eventually enough players will get it that you will be required to get it to remain competitive at MHing.
  5. Glad to know someone read my post \o/ Actually, it's more along the lines of hindsight than foresight. Somebody keylogged Paul Gower's mod account (from his personal PC at home) many years back and wreaked havoc using it. That was what resulted in the extra security measure.
  6. ITS FRIDAY FRIDAY GETTIN DOWN ON FRIDAY LOOKING FOR TO THE WEEKEND WEEKEND owait 2day is caturday :(
  7. The metered idea has some merit; Make it where you can only play 20 hours a week on a F2P/normal member account but enable people to pay 12 dollars/mo for a premium member account without the limit. I'd think the increased cost would dissuade botters from doing it, since it would drastically cut into their profit margins. Initially it would be hugely unpopular and there would be the normal knee-jerk riots over it, but after a while I think people would become accustomed to it. That's still four hours a day, which is a reasonable amount of time for the average person. No, it wouldn't solve the problem but at this point the problem cannot be solved. All that can be done is mitigating the problem, and I think this would work nicely.
  8. Jiggleflax doesn't want to spend money upgrading their hardware ;)
  9. Kekeke glad I'm not the only one who thought that.
  10. If you think that, you obviously never played RSC for any decent length of time. Fatigue was far worse than Random Events ever were and was just as ineffective. And that was back when bots were very simple.
  11. Won't fix everything. Since all floors give equal exp, the efficiency crowd will just run frozen over and over because it is the easiest. And dung clan requirements exist not so much because of floor differences but because someone with 60 dung has a tiny fraction of the knowledge and experience of somebody with 100+ DG.
  12. The game will go on for years to come, but the real question is "Will it still be worth playing?" With the exception of the rare nice update like Branches or ROTM, the quality of updates in the last six months has taken a nosedive. Bots are out of control and the problem only seems to be escalating. I think it's a reasonable guess to say that in a couple years, RS might end up like those crappy Korean MMOs where you have twenty bots to every one real player.
  13. Jesus christ I laughed... Are you sure that's what you mean? Because I don't think you mean what that word actually represents. That term used on the internet's essentially the same as "Noob". They're kind of cute. inb4 Chris Hanson And as for unspam, "scrub" is used mostly in FPS games, where the average player is as immature or worse than in RS. Because of the inherently competitive nature of FPS games, it generally brings out the "nasty" in people.
  14. The thing is, at GWD you get destroyed by melee minions in your mage robes.
  15. Don't mean to butt in, but thats the default colour. I agree the black ones nice but the sash's colour ruins it for me, everyone knows Black & Red belong together, purple? Uh! Yellow is actually one of the recolor options... ...Even though it's normally yellow... Because you might decide you don't like the new color and want the original?
  16. 2.5% is nothing. For every 100 exp you would normally get, you will earn 102.5 instead. Imo, that is hardly worth spending your credits on.
  17. You say "gf" every time you kill someone.. Whenever I'm staking I say "gf" at the end of every duel, win or lose, even if the other person is going crazy with insults and what not. It's a genuine "gf" too. I don't have any problems showing people respect (inb4 L0l respecting someone you don't know in an online game). Some people seem to think I'm mocking them when I say it though, even if I say it when they win. people complain about modern pking WAY too much, you say people didn't 'rag' back then, but then show clips of risking all of a dds + some prayer armour vs rune risk. Look through the clip its all the same 'move noob' 'noob gtfo' 'cya' , people going to loot after your kill. I remember 07 pking and it was almost no different from pking today, abiet the pjers used dds and dbow rather than claws and korasis (but then again you had no quickprayer, and less stackable food). And again people complain about todays pking, but really you dieing and getting owned by korasis because you don't know when to eat, or you refuse to risk enough to compete with mb pkers (a maxed mage 07 set was worth around the same as a bandos set nowadays). So many things wrong in your statements. You didn't even watch my video lol. >Look through the clip its all the same 'move noob' 'noob gtfo' 'cya' Please show me where this was said. Ragging is done purely to annoy the hell out of someone. It's not really ragging when people actually want to fight you, and besides that I'm using the best gear that I can as a 10 def pure. What do you expect me to risk, black (g) sets? The pjers were in much lower numbers, same with rushers... lol. Like, way less lower numbers. Nowadays you get tbed in edge after getting a rune kill, claw/korasi specced, double korasi'd, smacked with a set of veracs, barraged, or storm of arma. Not 100% of the time, but its way more often than it was in old wildy. You also get pjed mid fight a LOT now. I'm actually going to make a vid showing how many times I get rushed/pjed in a single day of pking, because its a lot. People went to loot after kills, that never changed I know. But I never found a problem with looters. Nowadays people cry if you eat on the right health with korasi. People flame for everything now, theres never any respect, not even a "gf" or anything. Besides that, I don't even think its the items that ruined pking, its the community that did. As I said, 95% of pking is now filled with flaming, going as low as tell people to kill themselves, calling them autistic [bleep]s, even seen flames about cancer and stuff. It's sickening. Nowadays people seem to troll just to be like everyone else lol. I tried pking with the Storm of Armadyl spell. I got a dh fight, and the guy teled after I tanked his claw specs, about 30 seconds into the fight. Then I got double korasi rushed about 5 times and rag ranged about 20 before saying nope, I'm not pking right now, whats the point. I tried attacking some of the people that rushed me or that were pjing, only to get pjed myself. It's like they roam in packs now. old pic, smited him out for dh helm No clue why Jagex "unfixed" PJing when they brought back the Wildy. That was the absolute best part of the crappy imitation Wildy they had while free trade was gone. PJing is dumb and ruins everyone's fun; the only people who defend it are scumbag trolls who are PJers themselves.
  18. Bahahaha. At the rate things are going, there may not even be a game left by then.
  19. This didn't really change anything; magic was already overpowered in PvP and now it's game-breaking. Magic is still worthless in PvM aside from niche uses like Rock Lobsters and a few slayer tasks. They need to make magic cheaper to use in PvM, and not any of this 10% cheaper crap either-- a LOT cheaper. They need a staff (obtainable in a similar manner as the ABS) that provides unlimited death or blood runes. To balance it, they could make it cause double the drain on your prayer points while wielding it.
  20. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Oh my god. EPIC. I don't know what's funnier. The fact that he fits the RS seteotype perfectly or his reaction. Oh lord, i had a laugh. Wow, I didn't think it was funny... Just... sad and pathetic.
  21. [hide]Yeah I definitely felt that the way Lucien died was a huge deus ex machina. That's really what's most disappointing for me-- I was hoping to actually fight him.[/hide]
  22. So basically -10 magic att for +8 prayer (comparing to Ahrim's) As well as magic DAMAGE bonus, silly. Making it a must for real mages. No bonus in sight there, just soak... Tested dragonbane bolts. Vs Ghorrock iron dragons they don't seem to work but I hit a 537 on a blue dragon at 115 range, void, leech range (5%). Normally your max ought to be 356. According to the wiki, each piece has a small magic damage boost. If true, that set is going to be VERY valuable and destroy the price of Ahrims. Never trust wiki when it comes to new items on the first few days after they've come out. I remember when wiki said that Virtus gave you immunity to dragon breath and also said that the mask gave you infinite teleports to GWD. I'm going to go edit it to say the Battlestaff of Armadyl gives you 100% magic damage boost and has a special attack that makes you immune to melee damage for five minutes.
