The point is that pures are intended to abuse the combat formula -- it's foolish to expect updates to revolve around your attempts to do so. Jagex's policy, which is and always has been quite a sensible one, has been to ignore pures. If your build is now locking you out of useful PKing content, then it's no longer the optimal one and you need to adapt accordingly. It's not abusing the combat formula at all. If they really wanted to they could make your attack/strength/defence have to be within 5 levels of each other. But they didn't, because they want to see different builds. What's the fun in playing the game the same way as everyone else? We need some more 40 defence gear; tanks got their pernix/virtus [cabbage] and mains can access everything. You have no idea how hilarious this sounds. No, really.

Lucien was only level 750? :mellow: I'd have thought more of a "god." Also, the rest of the Mahjarrat aren't nearly as strong as I thought they'd be, either.

Duoing TDs, I have no need for prayer potions now, thank you. Most of our time is spent waiting for it to spawn (Since they die before their first switch), so now I can bring like 10 overloads and 10 prayer renewals. LOVE THEM!!! Edit: Which, in turn, leads to more of these (Just got). :P. [hide][/hide] How exactly can you kill it before it switches prayer? I've read that on several topics already, but I don't know how you do that. :s Needs more dakka. Usually involves Dharoks.

I lol'd that they called this an update.

I quit because I finally realized that this game was nothing but a circular, pointless grind. You grind money so that you can buy resources so you can grind skills so you can get more money to grind more skills, etc. I have nothing against a grind, it is part-and-parcel with MMORPGS, but the grind in RS was so tedious and one-dimensional.

Even though there's only one update this month, I still bet many people will renew their memberships just for that quest. I am tempted to do so myself, even though for all intents and purposes I have permanently quit the game (I play a different MMORPG now).

Not really, because strength always trumps attack on a 1:1 basis so primal gauntlets would be better if you had 120 and wanted max melee DPS. 17 attack isn't worth 12 strength.

Even if they let the video be, if they had still demodded Jib, it would have still gone viral. It's too easy to draw the conclusion that he was demodded for being outspoken, especially if the details can't be disclosed. Yet that can't be a reason to not take action. I meant if they had not taken any action against Jimblex. The video would not have garnished nearly as much attention if they had not demodded him.

... which brings us to the gist of the problem. Whilst according to you - and many others, self included - he doesn't HAVE to agree with Jagex apparently they feel he DOES. Everywhere. Always. They would've been better off ignoring the video rather than drawing further attention to it by their action. That is the great irony involved here. It bears mentioning that Jagex may not have demodded him for the video, it might have been something else. Or he might have requested to be demodded. Fact was that it occurred in such a short timeframe after the video was posted that people associated one with the other, thereby making him a martyr. The video is now viral and overall this is a PR nightmare for Jagex. If they had just let the video be, it wouldn't have garnished that much attention.

One of the biggest reasons I rarely play now and am playing better games. :thumbdown: This. The value of money is extremely low, and there's no incentive to make money. What would I do with it if I grinded something to make money? Spend it on resources to grind skills? Everything revolves around a grind, and so in the end it all seems pointless. That realization was what killed my interest in the game.

Vote for League of Legends, as that seems to be the biggest competition.

Level 100 Magic: You can now cast ATOMIC FART! And I'm sorry that everyone seems to dislike the preview of TzRek Jad. I think it's adorable, personally. That's the problem! At 99 slayer, 99 summoning, a FIRE CAPE, and 100 zeal, it shouldn't be [bleep]ing adorable. It should be intimidating and strike fear and wonder into the eyes of everyone who sees it.

That's the best they could do for a pet that requires 99 slayer, summon, a fire cape and 100 zeal? What a disappointment. Glad I'm not the only one to think that.

This was a player mod who actively strove to make a difference, and they [cabbage]can him. And people wonder why the player mod corps is such a joke. Also, I unsubbed several months ago because nothing interested me anymore, and this event has only strengthed my opinion that I'm finished with this game. It's obviously spiraling downhill quickly (LOL at their new "refer a friend" program) and I feel like any further time I invest in this game would be a waste. Yeah you could say any time spent in games is a waste, but the future of this game looks dismal (I'm not saying it will die-- it'll probably stay around for several more years but the QUALITY of the game is continuously worsening). The game itself and the community are as bad as they've ever been, and Jagex is now unquestionably out to milk it for whatever they can, quality be damned.
