Fighting events aren't always fun, are they?
Packer15 replied to Warrior9266's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing, might be a really good idea I just can't understand what it is, please elaborate. -
macro, argue about it or outsmart them
Packer15 replied to xxdarrenxx's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Well, for starters this would really upset skillers. And also I'm afraid it wouldn't really work. Macroers would just start switching the outfits they wear and leveling their characters a little. The 5 hour thing would only hurt real players because macroers don't play on their bot aco[bleep]s so they won't care if their bots have to wait 5 hours. So I'm afraid I'm going to have to give this idea a thumbs down. Just way to drastic. -
Yeah I can't stand those autobuyers either, but I love to report them, because there the ones that cost the bot makers the most to lose. That is that play on free servers. But I have never heard that you can use the highway man to kill them. I personally wouldn't do this though because since you can't indefinetly be sure that they are macros it could be construed as some kind of item scamming.

Hobgoblins drop them quite a bit and Hill Giants do too, which is nice because you can level your prayer while you get them.

Seers Vill Flax Field Macro-Prevention
Packer15 replied to fakeitormakeit's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I was thinking about this and maybe after you beat it the guys gives you a certain amount of flax(about as many as you could get in the time it takes to fix the gate) to thank you for helping him. -
Actually there are keyloggers, well I guess not so much keyloggers as trojans that can record your bank pin. And really I think the point of this is the only way a keylogger can get your information is if you type it in, and stuff like your password and bank pin you have to type in every time you play, but you don't have to withdraw your christmas cracker every time you play. Oh yeah and as long as I'm posting I just thought you should know for future reference that you're not supposed to bump a thread while its still on the first page unless its in the market place.

Unique idea, well thought out, and posted very organized and easy to read. I support. However, I think that you should make them all visible to other players, because they would just be too good in the wild if you could hide them completely and then totally surprise someone in the middle of a battle. Also, I have one question. In your post it sounds as if this would be an entirely new skill, instead of just being an add on to say mage. If it is supposed to be an entirely new skill how will it effect combat level?
-
I think this would be kind of cool, and would add quite a bit of realism. Although I do have a question. Lots of people like to show of their weapons, so would there be a way to say tell the difference between a dragon scimmi and a bronze scimmi when its sheathed?

If its just something like go chop down a tree then its pretty much tutorial island. If it were something like you had to chop down trees, light fires, and use skills to kill other players or monsters, and thats how you got points then I would support. -
Yeah, I think its probably mining. I haven't ever seen a content update for it just the emote change, but I guess that construction impacted it pretty big. Really though I don't see what there is to be updated, except for dragon pick.
-
Well, I'm a non-member, so I know what its like to not have updates every week. And I think I can say that if I were a member I would give up weekly updates, but probably not for something like RS3, I think better updates monthly or bi-monthly would be the best.

Seers Vill Flax Field Macro-Prevention
Packer15 replied to fakeitormakeit's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Nice idea, it will slow them down for at least a little while. But actually I think they do have ways of finding the hammer, I saw another post about how they use pretty much the same thing to solve other randoms, if you want a more descriptive answer please pm me, I don't want to give macroers any ideas. But you can definitely add my name to support list. -
Make your own temporary epidemic! ~~16 Supporters!~~
Packer15 replied to dsavi's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Really cool idea. It would make for some really cool fights, but I do have a few technical questions. First, would it be like other potions where there is more than one dose per vial, and second, would it be stackable? If your starting a support list you can definitely add me. =D> -
This is really a good idea. Its kind of a twist on the old stop hackers with a pin idea. It makes sense because the only way a keylogger can find out what the pin is is if you withdraw it. And you don't have to withdraw it all the time and would be able to change the pin every time you did without it becoming much of a hassle (of course that is if you only put it on something like a santa or party hat, and not a tinderbox or your weapon). I support.

Sorry, but levels like 2000-6000 sound just a little extravagent to me would be almost impossible to kill even with a ton of people. And really I don't know if people would go there if all the itmes and experience they get disappear. Also heres a question you might want to answer in your post, if you die here where do you go and what do you lose?
-
Pretty good idea, simple change that will make the game slightly safer. I support.

I think that if you made it so it has to be an agreed upon trade by using some long distance trade option, and made it so that when you send it it will go to some place where it can not be accessed by the other player until they pay for it, and after so long if it hasn't been payed for it returns to you. Otherwise if you both have to be on at the same time, it would be pretty much the same as normal trading. But overall good idea and with a little improvement it could be a great idea.

Great idea, it would be nice to be able to see how much health or prayer you have while still having your inventory showing.
-
If your looking for a place to pk in the wild with 1 defense and 1 prayer theres always quite a few pures at levels 1-3 just north of varrock. So I'm guessing thats a pretty good place for pures to pk and I've heard that the Black Knights Castle works pretty good too. For places to train if your looking to make a little bit of money maybe try killing cows for a while, or if you want to mage then I would suggest Hill Giants.

somebody says im rl items trading!! why?(im not)
Packer15 replied to Brollygerman's topic in Help and Advice
You shouldn't get a black mark as long as you didn't actually do it, or go around confessing to it for no reason. And yeah people get permanently muted for breaking the rules to many times. Its not neccessarily just for rule 1. If you've been caught pass or item scamming you can be permanently muted. -
Well, I'm pretty sure that there are some guides on this in the Archives of Wisdom, all of them will suggest powermining iron. You could do that but personally I had better luck mining gold, then leveling smithing with steel. If you wanted to do both at once I would suggest probably steel because there are way to many people who mine iron.
-
Yeah, you probably could go with magic, but I would suggest leveling defense and prayer or you might get owned by some rangers. I also wouldn't suggest going to members wilderness right away get some experience in free worlds then go to members.

I think this is a pretty good idea. It would be nice if say you didn't have any laws on you or your mage wasn't high enough. Maybe you should have some in places in between towns or in places where it would be easy to get lost that could maybe cost more, but you could go to a major town for free every so often(like home teleport). Also maybe have a way to get money out of your bank at the cart place so that you can pay for it when you get lost. Oh yeah and I don't think you should have a wild one thats just a good way for people to scam. And if there is make sure theres some kind of warning that your have to click on to continue.

As nice as it would be to be able to voice your comments and concerns to jagex mods, it really wouldn't work that well. Even with a no spamming rule people would still start accounts just to spam them, and new players wouldn't realize that asking "can you give me a crown", or "is there a guy that will give me full dragon" is spamming. However, if there was a required level to enter them(nothing to high just enough to deter level 3 accounts made just to spam, and make it so you've played enough to know that those above questions are pretty much spamming), and if they divided people in to groups and gave them different days of the week and time limits than maybe it could work.
