And you think its wrong if the state fired teachers that called in sick to go protest at the capital? You know, because they love their kids so much.

When their employer is the state government, if the answer is anything but a resounding yes they're already in trouble. Anyhow, this piece of legislation is only for public sector employees, and exempts police and firemen. The U.S. federal government doesn't allow its workers to unionize, I don't understand why the cheeseheads think they should be so special.
  3. We'll see if we get anything by Saturday, if no one posts a coaster I'll keep the competition on hold until further notice. I don't want to use up all scoring ideas if no one is going to submit
  4. Or he could've asked Jagex... pretty sure he's been to their hq and met with MMG and Andrew.

I'd like to be a Scott A. Jones or Dean Kamen - wealthy inventor. I've already had 3 patents filed for me, so technically I am an inventor, just not wealthy yet. Also, I won't own those patents, my company will. Sometime I need to start my own company so I can keep my ideas, and profit off them.
  6. when has it been tried? Pretty much every random event ever made.
  7. Just made a dueling rollercoaster that loop each other's loop, simultaneously. [hide=prepare for epicness] [/hide]
  8. My English Composition was the equivalent to a college course, an ACP. If you took it at Indiana University, they'd call it W131. Writing a paper that was grammatically correct but lacked substance didn't get a good grade.
  9. Now that the deadline has passed, I declare myself the winner of this week's competition, so I'm better than all y'all. :P Alright, too many rules, weird scoring, all that jazz. So, to generate more interest, I'm modifying the rules for next week's competition. The rules will now have two parts, competition rules and ride rules. Without further ado, the new rules. Competition Rules: 1. Rollercoaster may be from ANY game in the RCT series. This includes expansion packs and new releases. The rollercoaster may be in sandbox mode or as part of a scenario, unless otherwise stated in the ride rules. 2. Rollercoaster must be submitted before the week ends - by 11:59::59 GMT on Saturday. No exceptions. 3. The submission for the rollercoaster must be in the form of screenshots of the park. The entire rollercoaster must be included in the screenshot, or multiple screenshots. The ride's ratings and the name of ride on the entrance to the station platform must match, and be in at least one of the screenshots. This is to verify the ride in the screenshot is legitimate. 4. The winner of the competition from the prior week is allowed to remove one ride rule, add one ride rule, and change the scoring of next week's coasters. Ride Rules: Baleeting this one: 1. The rollercoaster must be entirely above ground. 2. There must be no footpaths above the rollercoaster, or within 2 squares on the same level of the rollercoaster. 3. There must be no other rides or rollercoasters within 4 squares of the rollercoaster. New rule: The rollercoaster may not be more than 6,000 feet in length. Scoring: The rollercoaster's score is its fastest speed in MPH, divided by its maximum lateral G force. Where the minimum lateral G force is 1. Good luck!

I read the post, but I'm laughing at the Venn Diagram. Sheesh, don't get your panties in a wad.
  11. I don't think it matters? If I upload my track, can you build it in sandbox and let me know the ride ratings? I'm hoping RCT2 doesn't give an unfair advantage in the way it calculates those. fix'd
  12. I invite you to take some of the classes I took in high school - maybe AP Computer Science AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, or English Composition. Or you can take any of the classes I'm taking for my degree, like Linear Circuit Analysis, or Microelectronic Circuit Analysis, or Digital System Design. I guarantee that if you believe any of that is listening to the teacher and repeating like a parrot, you'll fail out shortly after your first exam.

.... I laughed a bit at that Venn Diagram. I want to know, why liberals? In the world, we have three classes of people - Furries, Closet Furries, and Liberals. #-o
  14. Less than 5 hours left, here is my submissions: [hide=Triangle] (2*8.42 + 7.95) / 3.66 = 6.773 [/hide]
  15. So, I've found a loophole in my rules as I've crafted them. Rather than ban it this late it the game, I'm going to let everyone know about it so that everyone is on an equal footing (can choose to use it or not). If you raise the ground above the tracks the rollercoaster, it is more or less the same as putting trees there. Technically, I'd say the track is above ground, as it doesn't tunnel and there is no ground directly above it. So, doing this is against the spirit of the rules but its not against the letter of the rules. And now that I've made sure everyone knows about it, I expect everyone to use it. My submission is coming soon, just as soon as I raise all that land around the tracks.
  16. I've got it done... just waiting until closer to the deadline to let you know how I did  Don't want anyone to know my strategy.
  17. When GMT changes to Sunday.
  18. Its a roundabout... the city in which I live should be nicknamed the roundabout capital of the world. Literally, time magazine has published an article about us because we've built so many. Newsweek says we've built more than 60... and I can think of at least 2 that have been built since then. We're also so awesome that we're hosting the International Roundabout Conference. http://www.carmelroundabouts.com/ https://engineering.purdue.edu/CE/AboutUs/News/Features/Carmelwinsbidtohost2011NationalRoundaboutConference
  19. You know what they call the person that graduates last in medical school? [hide=answer] Doctor. [/hide]

Actually, in many of the states there are laws called "Your home is your castle." This, in essence, means you have the right to use whatever force you deem necessary to protect yourself and everything on your property. Basically, if someone holds a shotgun to your face and says, "Get off my property," you'd better listen.
  21. In my heyday I built roller coasters with 20-30 intensity and nausea. Even today my average is around 15. How do I get ones with actual excitement? You need to control the speed around track elements. Taking a loop at 60mph isn't a very good idea, the slower your coaster takes it and the more exciting it is. The faster your coaster is going, the larger your turns need to be. High bits of G forces are OK, but if they're sustained or too large the track is going to be too intense. You could *ahem* acquire it through shady means. If you already own the game and are not lending it to someone right now, I don't see that as a moral issue anymore. :shades:
